Given the passionate controversy that's blown up around Schwyzer and his issues, there needed to be much more questioning of Schwyzer, rather than just allowing him to do a 30-minute monologue. For the most part, all Gina does is sit and say "sure," in a quiet, compassionate voice. No matter where you stand on the matter of HS, it deserves a much deeper investigation than just passively allowing him to speak.

What makes me leery of this apology are two issues. 1) He is still refusing to take personal responsibility and hiding behind addiction, which seems to fly in the face of recovery. 2) He still writes from the paternalistic "protect women for their own sake because I know best" stance that drove him to do this very thing. Not super feminist.

All in one video clip: Schwizzy goes from distancing himself from what he's done with his substance abuse to pretending he totally takes responsibility for it, and emotionally manipulating people with the "redemption" rhetoric of Christianity. Newsflash: a lot of your critics are also in recovery. Newsflash: you don't have a FUNAMENTAL RIGHT to a particular career. Also, HITNS ditched him, he didn't resign.
