  • Well, to all the idiots who say stupid things here, this project surely beats the crap of making ashtrays and lamps in woodworking class...

  • nice guitar ! congrats

  • The figuring of the lacewood is really nice.

  • epiphone do strat copies? lol

  • @AkatsukiArts oh yeah, my very first guitar was an "Epi" strat copy, very budget minded guitar, but all in all, a pretty quality guitar, considering i paid 100 bucks for it; great beginners guitar..at least mine was, i imagine it was made in the early to mid 90's, as i bought it in a pawn shop in '99.

  • eh.

  • I like the body shape a lot. Very 80s and mid 90s styled.

  • dont mean to offend but that guitar looks like shit

  • @fishfood45 because it has no color it looks like crap? come on man u couldnt do any better urself...

  • yeh pantera motherfucker!

  • dude whats the title of the first song?

  • well done dude.

  • wow man very nice great job! and dont let these asses on here tell u any diffrent. ill be post a few pics maby a vid of the one im making now u should check it out.

  • my feet are sweating...

  • nice, I'd like to hear it! But im wondering....why did you go and leave it out in a hailstorm? Surface of the wood reminds me of hardwood floors where a few big dogs live, all pocked to hell. In any event, nice job!

  • @destructovision Its lacewood...

  • @destructovision Thanks, it's the way of the grain when I hand sanded it down. I would play it, but I'd like to have a better amp, and better pickups really before I play it to do it some justice (Broke A**), but it does work, lol

  • @bushidoway I hear ya on the broke a**. I have a nice higher end Ibanez that is sooooo nice, but my crummy little Peavey amp has poor tone.

  • @destructovision thats the wood dude.....

  • I like the guitar shape of the body but the pick guard doesnt follow the form of the body. And scratch epi off there and put your name on it. You deserve it.

  • dont mean to insult you but it ook really crap dude

  • Great job! Looks awesome!

  • cool project - but you sound hammered...

  • The shape is retarted.

  • you should make a video of you playing it :)

  • Good job. Hopefully you'll be inspired to continue the building.

    Awesome.

  • cool body shape not sure bout pickguard tho

  • get it to a sander and teel him 2 smothen it out bcz its kind of lumpy =/

  • keeping up the texas traditon yeah

  • dude Nice!!!! you even put a whammy bar!!! totally not junk on all videos no one almost puts the whammy!!..just a question do you have to be experienced in carpentry and such?..idk anything about that and dont have tools since im still 16 to make but i have a book that teach you..and im thinkin on taking carpentry in school

  • Yeah I suggest taking the woodworking class. Not only does it give you knowledge about setting up jigs, safety, and tips and pointers about doing stuff the easy way; it also gives you access to various hand tools, band saw, table saw, router, scroll saws, planers, and if they were willing to shell out the money, the sandmax. Some tools aren't essential, but its so much easier, and you can put more quality into it.

  • and its your problem?... go play the drums or something

  • best come back ever!!!1

  • @bushidoway internet high five :D

  • @ddrummer9111 shut up... whats a drum without a guitar playing by it? NOTHIN... so go be dumb somewhere else

  • epiphone strat?

  • well call it a fender murdercaster

  • epiphone dont make strats???

  • i think he means gibson kramer no way in hell epi would make strats

  • not saying that it actually says "strat", but its built just like a strat. its an epiphone strat copy, a lil cheapy guitar...

  • could give us a demo it looks amazing. it looks wic for 80 rock and classic rock.

    keep bilding

  • pantera! fuck yeah!!

  • looks like the musicman albert lee signature guitar

  • dude ur my hero!!!! although my fav is the tele but whatev

  • you can buy a 50 dollar neck from Eden

    Neck, fingerboard, fretted

Tuners and nut, and your good to go

  • yeah I was thinking about doing that, but as of now I am dead broke. Some day once I start or finish my second guitar I'll probably "pimp" it

  • Well Done!

  • It's actually a rather original design. It's mostly the strat pickguard that makes it look like a strat. I've never really seen a guitar with front cuts like those, or a pointy back end.

So kudos and all that. You gonna play it for us though?

  • haha, its missing a few strings, been borrowing from it, once i get new strings i'll make a vid

  • sweet

  • It kind of looks like Mockingbird..

  • cool alot like what i did (didnt make a neck) i made a v style check it out

  • awesome dude. remind me of a uke! nice.

  • Looks great! Nicely done.

  • people are so stupid, who cares what it looks like? you spent hours and hours building an amazing, working musical instrument with electronics.

  • no effense but thats a terrable guitarshape id do a hybrid

  • that effense is really not effensive

  • Lol

  • it's not spelled right either

  • Nice guitar.. nice wood!

im just wondering how you make the place for the pickups and all that? and what wood did you use and how did you get that color..

    hope for answer.. thx

  • Since the pick guard lays on top of it, i routed a huge rectangular shape in the middle, as well as holes for the bridge/whammy bar, output, and volume/tone knobs. If you watch 0:52 i routed the same holes on the body of my guitar. Woods I used was lacewood and padauk, and I simply coated it with a mixture of laquer and laq thinner to get the colors of the wood to stand out.

  • did you drill out the place or something? what tool did you use to make the place.. and thx for answering so fast.. thx a lot!

  • A woodworking router, and a straight line flush bit with the ball bearing on the bottom. Also the use of 3/4ths thick templates taped to the guitar body as a guide.

  • ok.. im not so good in english so i didnt understand so much of it but i will work it out.. now i will not ask more:P Thx a lot! and yes nice guitar!

  • just google "woodworking router" and "how to use a woodworking router" it's easy just remember to tighten everything before you use it

  • Ok.. Thx a lot!!:)

  • its kinda like a strat but with your own touch

  • that's awsome!

  • u look like a drunk guy.XD.. JOJOJO mXmas.!

  • Awesome song dude

  • Looks wonderful. Where did you find the wood? The padauk would have been expensive.

  • I got all the wood from my woodworking class, the wood wasn't very expensive 250 for all 5 pieces I glued to make the body. I got lucky and grabbed my friends unused padauk pieces off his project.

  • Looks awsome man...I wish I had the tools so I can mess around with one of my crap guitars.

  • its real easy, you don't even need half the tools i had, you would just have to do more work with your hands

  • Good job bro.

  • thanks bro, took a long time to build but def worth it

  • i made a neck in 6 hours
