On another note, THANK YOU for putting this up. Unfortunately, only 44,800 people have viewed it, compared to god knows how many on the newest Lil Wayne or Rebecca Black videos. Goes to show where the people of our nation's priorities are at. It's sad, but I think for us who care about freedom, the more we talk about it, the more others will start following in our steps and doing the same. We just have to take the initiative, especially us younger people

"commerce with all nations, alliance with none, should me our motto" Is a great idealistic quote from Jefferson who was undoubtedly a very great man. It is Interesting however that Jefferson was quite the francophile, and did urge for strong alliances with the french. People like to treat these quotes as gospel and our Founding Fathers as incorruptible, but you will find complexities and paradoxes in their lives and their views like all men. Not to mention they had to play politics too.
@marcef100m I was thinking the same thing. This song is all about a one world government the antithesis of what Jefferson or any of the founders would have desired. Thanks for pointing that out.
i can't think of a worse song to use then imagine. thomas jefferson is a man who believed in our country, who believed that freedom was worth dying for, who believed that each man has a right to property.

a mental revolution is the revolution needed in our generation and it starts with changing our public school system....... these days the smartest people choose to make money instead of leading and helping...... who will be the next Thomas Jefferson and may he rise up soon
This is the man that the world, not just the U.S, needs. This man is definetly my hero, man who knew what would be the best for the people. Too bad that the most of the govts are soo deeply corrupted, that´s why it is the people who need to make the change.
"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." -Thomas Jefferson
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." -Thomas Jefferson
We are all in trouble if we don't put the pity party aside. Republican democrat are all on same team playing us like puppets. Ron Paul is taking away from republicans. Buy guns buy ammo prepare your self. Former Ranger 1998
Thomas Jefferson was well-educated but never forgot that when you become POTUS, you're supposed to be president for ALL Americans. For god's sake! The only last great president was JFK. Not because he was killed. He wanted to abolish the fed. Ron Paul seems to be the last hope.
@wellundecided Amen Kennedy was killed for trying to end the Fed Res. If They kill Ron Paul when he becomes President then all true Patriots need to put a target on Ben Bernankes head! The only reason why The Federal Reserve has been able to oppress us for so long is because we have allowed them to. It's time that we took a stand and fought back against such Tyranny. How long are you sheep going to tolerate this enslavement? If we can't impeech them then we need to kill them!
@DanielDamascusKimery How does the Fed control you? And how was Kennedy trying to end the FED? He actually strengthened the FED when he was president.
@japedol Just google "Kennedy Killed by Bankers over abolishing Federal Reserve". I don't have the time or the patience to bring an ignorant fuck up to speed on something that is common knowledge.
@japedol On June 4, 1963, a little known attempt was made to strip the Federal Reserve Bank of its power to loan money to the government at interest. On that day President John F. Kennedy signed Executive Order No. 11110 that returned to the U.S. government the power to issue currency, without going through the Federal Reserve.

I hate people like you. If you don't know what you are talking about then shut the fuck up!
@DanielDamascusKimery Not Bernake, he is just a dumb fucking puppet. The real culprits behind the federal reserve and countless other central banks are the Rothschild banking dynasty.
@royaladam Basically what this means is... and this is my own point of view... That one with a clear mind. One who does not let their emotions get the better of them, has the better advantage in all things. As they can think clearly. Without bias. Without fears. In other words... Stop, and think things through. Don't go rushing in head first.
thomas jefferson is my hero, inspiration, and higher power. everyone of these quotes stings with wise and thoughtful accuracy. whoever posted this: thank you.
"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny, when the government fears the people, there is liberty." WOW please god there must be another Thomas Jefferson out there we need HELP so BAD!!!
" All tyranny needs is for people of good conscience to remain silent."
I was one of the silent majority who has worked, raised children, pay college tuition's for my children and watch while my country was being lied to by...Progressives. I was satisfied being a husband and father and now grandfather and I did nothing to stop the erosion of our Civil Liberties, and our Constitution. I will not be silent anymore, and will be more proactive in the future.
Terrible song choice! No countries, no religion, one world, no possessions, no need for greed. I must admit I do hate greed with a passion but this song basically preaches true communism wich is immpossible and you use it for a video quoting a Christian, anti collectivist, free market capitalist? Long live our republic and our constitution!!
@crowwn TJ was a Christian he just wasnt like the lunatic Christian fanatics today that would like us to become a Christian version of Iran. He was a thinker, he seen the bad side of organized religion and the bad things the church and the priests did but he still believed in god. "A more beautiful or precious morsel of ethics I have never seen; it is a document in proof that I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus" - Thomas Jefferson, about the bible.
"If all American, don't listen and act upon Mr. Thomas Jefferson words of wisdom. Then all Americans will forever be enslave to their government." ~ Uncle Thomas Xiong (1944-2009)
My heaven bless upon you Thomas Jefferson and also for my uncle. I hope that he had the chance to meet up with you in heaven.
Beautiful minds chain playtogether - Jefferson knew why. Lay hands on the devil, he is God's servant, not man's, do know more. Government is an unruly servant that must buy back its loss.
Have you ever seen the news? Watched the videos of the left speaking about how mao zedong is their idol or how bout the idiot who said that adding people to an island base at guam would make the island capsize? Really? Really now? The left is a bunch of fucking idiots who know nothing at all yet wanna pass laws and think they know best. They force their laws upon the american people even with the outrage. The right is the only light at the end of the tunnel anything else is just foolish.
When the people fear corporate hegemony, there is nothing left to curtail their power except government. When the people in their lust overstep their personal liberty and trample upon the commons until they rob everyone else of their rightful freedoms, they feed the monster they call government. The enemy is us, and only through diligent exercise of personal responsibility and the prudent control of our own greed can we limit the power of government.
I hope you democrats enjoyed being on top and fucking it over. You will all pay in the end, Democrats are being voted out of office one after the other. Obama the big fuck up he is a one term president. The American people will be free, one way or the other, violent or peaceful.
"The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood
@MajorHunter The Obama administration is no more than a balancing force against very recent Republican extremes. Neither party offers meaningful, long term solutions to any of our problems. Their only function is to keep us from plunging over the cliff. The Right is as corrupt as the Left. To embrace either party without critique is a shallow, all or none way of thinking that should disqualify any worshipper of the very right to vote. I'll await your favorite descriptive term.
Sorry Bush was no Republican extreme. He was a liberal as Clinton, OR Gore would have been. Gore is glad now with his bs on global warming....yep its frying.......what a scam
and phony. The millions he is making off nitwits. Obama is a marxist...and has marxists
his cabinet....I hope they bring Islamic laws...would love to throw a sack on Barbra streisand, Nancy Pelosi, Barbra Boxer, Hilliary Clinton.... What did the Russian defector call it....useful idiots.....
@JohnWayneWasaHero You're heavy on judgements, short on facts. The climate change 'scam' is as damaging to the concept of global temperature change as the Watergate scandal is to US elections today. The amount of data manipulation was miniscule in comparison to the sum total of data points and researchers collaborating worldwide on the issue. To be wooed into the idea that the scam equals the problem is very naive.
@nockuout1 Oh because Liberals are the ones who stand for peace? I can't even begin to tell how wrong you are in so many ways.....basically you and your liberal "frenemies" are the most incredibly hypocritical and self-defeating "mindset" in the world....you are a hateful idiot!
While "Imagine" is a fantastic musical achievement, it is a slap in the face to pair it with something concerning Jefferson. The lyrics preach the creation of a socilistic world government which in theory, like Communism, is true Utopia, in practice, a despotic travesty.
it was prophecy that the Founding Fathers in the John Adams miniseries were taling about the setting up of a Central Bank, a Federal banks that would Consolidate the Finances of the Nation As they mention and become an eventual finanial Burden on the country and create a Strongly Centralised Government one day. They said I believe in episode 5 that one day the United States may become like a Monarchy and become what they are now Fighting against.
@theskepticsskeptic Ron Paul couldn't do that the 99% of America that believes that hogwash would kill him. We are a nation in tyranny were liberty is looked as a traitorous state. How far we have fallen. How far we have to go.
@BapticostalFreak u try again Ron Paul never said we deserved 9-11 show me ur source. He said our policies cause other countries to hate us but NEVER said we deserved to be attacked like that, Big Difference!
@tonyamichael "We are over there attacking them for 10 years then we wonder why we get attacked" is exactly what he said when referring to the 9-11-2001 attacks. Exactly he said our policies which is saying we deserved it. He wonders why he won't ever get elected to office, his son is to smart to say something like that.
@BapticostalFreak We should be smart enough to know the difference, but as someone else mentioned, lady ga ga gets millions of views. Corrupting young developing minds... well.. this is what happens when people stop paying attention! We now have a president who actually quoted we had 52 states while on his campaign trail? Gud god!
@tonyamichael Moderator to Ron Paul "Are you suggestion we invited the 9-11 atttacks sir?" Ron Paul "Im suggestion we listen to those who attack us and the reason they did it; and they are delighted we are over there on their soil." v=cQrwKr_b4Lg
You tell me how this is not saying we deserved to get attacked?
@BapticostalFreak I disagree Bap. Because, the phrase "we deserved to get attacked" can be perceived in a number of different ways. If I heard someone say those EXACT WORDS, I would instantly associate that person as being an idiot. But, Ron Paul is not so blatant in his remarks. I especially like how he even takes the heat off of himself with making those comments, by referencing a CIA TERM, Blow-back effect. Its a real term apparently. So are you saying the CIA is wrong too?
@MrLion1945 Ron Paul and the CIA are both wrong, they are not GOD. The more we turn away from God the more we will continue to be looked on as a weak nation. We were considered a strong nation because we were preparing for peace but getting ready for war when we first were a nation, something we no longer are now days.
It's alright to believe in a Religion, but then again, Religion has created many useless Wars that just killed thousands of innocent People (Crusades, War on Terror, etc.) so we should let the First Amendment do it's job (Freedom of Religion) and worry about Peace-Time Activities such as fixing the Economy, starting jobs, etc.
@tonyamichael If it had been a Republican that said that you would have said he said we deserved to get attacked but since it was a libertarian that said it you must justify what he said. He should have said "I am not saying we deserved to get attacked, but we need to reexamine our policies and find out why we did get attacked so it doesn't happen again." If he would have said that no one could have said that he said we deserved to get attacked
@BapticostalFreak We have no biz policing the world and trampling foreign soil for any reason. It was not the policy of the founders. We can defend our country right here on our own soil if we followed the entire Constitution! Ron Paul is absolutely correct!
@BapticostalFreak thats not what he said you moron. He said the reasons of the 911 attacks were caused by us, which is a huge difference then saying we deserved it.
@sthomas086 "We have been over there attacking them for 10 years and then we wonder why they attacked us" That is what he said exactly. How is that not saying we deserved to get attacked? i know you have to call people names because you think so low of yourself that you have to insult others and call others name to make yourself feel better. I will pray that God opens your heart and helps you to realize what you are doing is wrong just like he did with me when I use to be the same way.
@BapticostalFreak i apologize for calling you a moron, it was cowardly. Ron Paul's statement gave the reason they attacked us, he did not say we deserved it. Only an evil person would endorse an act of violence.
@BapticostalFreak It's like this. Our foreign policy is against the strong advice of our founding fathers, is not allowed in our Constitution, most Americans want nothing to do with policing the world and sticking our noses in the business of other countries or fighting wars for oil. So I ask you. If the founders told us not to, the Constitution doesn't allow it and the American people disagree with it, then how is that blaming America?
Would we like it if their ships were here? If they bomb us?
@sthomas086 "we attack them for 10 years then wonder why they attack us" he also could have said right after it "i am not saying we deserve it or caused the attacks" but he didn't. Ok your right you anti-american racist, he didn't say we deserved it he said we caused it, forgive me for my wording. Don't worry he wont ever become president, for the simple fact he is "prolife" but when it comes too minors going across state lines for abortions he is for it.
@BapticostalFreak And yes, he is pro-life, but admits that those are only HIS beliefs, and believes that neither he, nor any other member of the federal government has the right to push their beliefs onto others. Therefore, it should be left up to the states to decide, and if you need an abortion bad enough that you're willing to cross state lines to get one, that's your right as well
@BapticostalFreak Ron Paul is 100% right about 9/11. In the years leading up to the attack, '97,'98, and '99, he was saying we need to change our foreign policy. He was saying that our occupation and having military bases in those countries would cause a blowback, as history has shown. And no one listened. Now we got idiots like you telling us RP thinks we "deserved" it. Sure we may not have committed the attacks, but our foreign policy definitely contributed to the motives behind them
@UngratefulLiving420 So you agree with RP that we deserved to get attacked? He could have said, I dont mean that we deserved to get attacked but maybe we should change our policies to avoid it in the future. If he would have said that he would have not be criticized about what he said. So now that we have morons like u that worship him, you probably also think its ok too have minors go across state lines to have an abortion like he voted yes for. I don't like the guys policies not him personally
@BapticostalFreak Look man, I'm trying to look at things for what they are, this is about what history has shown, not opinion. From your first sentence I can see you didnt even read my comment. The point is, the American PEOPLE did nothing to deserve to be attacked, unless you consider ignorance a crime punishable by death. But unfortunately, we have to pay the price for the actions of our government, and the enemies that our government's militaristic empire has created puts our safety at risk
@BapticostalFreak How do we stop idiots from you from repeating blatant lies about Ron Paul? He NEVER said "we deserved" what happened on 911. He stated the reasons why we were attacked and he got that from just about the entire intelligence community who were assigned to counter-terrorism efforts including Michael Scheuer who created and ran the bin Laden unit for 12 years. He also gets his information from the founding fathers and the Constitution.
@tonyamichael Ron Paul is not the Thomas Jefferson of our day J. C. Watts is, he would never say us attack the middle east would cause them too attack us on 9-11 like Ron Paul said.
@TheBrotherMouzone I agree. The change we need has to come from the society though. We must secure our liberty, arm ourselves and put the Government in it's place.
@TheBrotherMouzone I was just going to say that Ron Paul pulled a quote from Jefferson about trading with all nations and no alliances, great quotes here
@TheBrotherMouzone Switzerland is a great nation!! If I could pick a country that we should be closest with it would be yours unfortunately why would anyone want to stand with us now? Our government is beyond evil and corrupt.
@TheBrotherMouzone try again, the Thomas Jefferson of our day is J C Watts. Thomas would never imply that we deserved to get attacked like Ron Paul did.
@BapticostalFreak Do not be narrow minded. Sometimes one has to think "beyond the box". Things are not always as obvious as they seem, i.e. the reasons to "someone attacked us" aren't always the most obvious ones every other idiot can come up with. Please read Ron Paul's book "Revolution". It's really good. Believe me, I was a socialist and an Obama supporter before I read it. Now I'm a hard core capitalist and libertarian.
@TheBrotherMouzone glad to hear you don't support the Usurper anymore. I never have cause my support was for Alan Keyes and would love to see somewhat of a combo of Alan Keyes/J C Watts 2012.
@Robstailey Were you born that stupid or did your mother dose you with acid as a child? Ron Paul wouldn't want the USA to be a Christian theocracy any more than your boy Obama wants us to live in a Muslim caliphate
"Commerce with all nations, alliance with none." Ironic that China is following this motto today and gaining more and more power. Is there a lesson to our so called free world here?
@TheJasonFreeman china also has a stable productive nation. The all consuming US is on it's last deathrows. I haven't seen a made in America product besides playing cards in my entire lifetime and I'm 35.
HA. MassLiberal1 you must be incompotent to say that Jefferson was a liberal. Everything that man said is the total opposite of liberalism and socialism. Well you are a liberal so you must be incompotent. Read and study history carefully, and not out of textbooks, and you might change your views
@unlstate88 The definitions of today were not the definitions of 300 years ago. There is more to the political spectrum than just the modern day left and right.
@Rawrlor I don't care if you disagree with what I have said. You are the one who needs to read his words all of them. What I type is the truth that is why it is hard for you to accept it. You must come to it yourself. Reading it from me will not change your mind. It took me many years to find it, but I feel purer and cleaner now that I understand what America is supposed to be and how the world really works. You must first realize things are being kept from you by big brother.
Why is 'imagine' of john lennon a sound to this guy? Ideologically they are quite opposite, while Thomas talks liberation of men, but lennon preaches collectivism and 'non-propertiary' world.
worst song for a thomas jefferson video!!!! no countries, no religion ??? doesnt that go against the constitution? please for credibility sake, change the sound track!
jefferson was whats now referred to as a classical liberal. it has nothing to do with modern liberalism, and certainly not socialism. he advocated limited government, free markets, and non interventionist foreign policy, basically what ron paul advovates today
@fiddlenut24 yup the left was destroyed by big government lovers years ago. Now we have 2 parties with one goal, larger and larger government. Which leads to one inevitable conclusion, revolution.
both parties are corrupt entities whose only goal is total control of the people by using big government to take our liberty away. you're correct, when more people realize this, a revolution will be the result
sorry but you're mistaken.if you knew anything about economics and monetary policy you would know the real reason for the market crash and the economic crash is a result of too much govt interference, and manipulation of the dollar by the federal reserve. the govt created a false sense of prosperity by leaving interest rates too low for too long, creating the housing bubble. people spent more money than they had because of our govt's flawed economic and monetary policy, govt is the problem !
if you want to learn the truth about the economy and monetary policy, i highly recommend ron pauls book "end the fed" or read peter schiffs blog sometime
@Rawrlor Google Senators Dodd, Frank and Schummer with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac....Jimmy Carter's policy that forced banks to lower lending requirements and Johnson's MODEL CITIES PROGRAM.....There is the crux of the economic crash.......predominatley Democratic/Liberal policies and reverse racism...."hmmm....FRIENDS OF ANGELO...check it out!
@TylernolSP Wherein this collage did it profess to translate this song? Or are you just a closet hate-monger who actually thinks liberals are peaceful types? You need to do some basic research into the actual destructive principles that a true liberal endorses.
I think there is a great deal of confusion going on and a sudden patriotism at the same time (myself included). We're all very fortunate that truly wise men laid the foundations for our nation, when this nation falls apart we'll go back to our foundation because it's such a strong one to stand on- we're lucky to be born in a country with such a strong foundation at its core.
I hope not to watch this nation crumble. I prefer to see us resume the authority that was usurped and reclaim our liberty without the need of rebuilding from ground-up. But if we can't... I for one cast my lot with liberty. Read the works of Thomas Paine, John Stuart Mill, Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson and commit them to memory. Look over the Presidential actions of Thomas Jefferson, of Andrew Jackson, of William H. Taft and remember them. Therein is the solution to our dilemma.
Yes but foundations collapse easily if they are not held up. We do not inherit freedom we must fight and defend every generation or our freedom. To be able to keep it. History shows us that freedom does not long entrust itself to the weak and timid.
"We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt"
"Experience hath sewn, that even under the best form of government, those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny"
"The government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves."
"All authority belongs to the people"
"Educate and inform the whole mass of people they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty"
yes! finally someone who understands! but you're forgetting the quote "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation then by deflation, the banks and the corporations will grow up around them, will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs." - Thomas Jefferson
why dont we have public servants like this today? if this man was were alive today he would be appauled at the way we have allowed our government to trample our rights, and at the current state of our country
I sure wish our government would've listened to him. but since they haven't "The Tree of Liberty Must Be Refreshed From Time to Time By The Blood of Patriots and Tyrants." Thomas "The Boss" Jefferson
Unless I missed it, I don't believe my most favorite of this founding father's quotes was here: "The Tree of Liberty Must Be Refreshed From Time to Time By The Blood of Patriots and Tyrants" - Thomas Jefferson.
Jefferson was a great man, a personal hero of mine and yes I agree with most that he was not a perfect human being. Who is haha? Even though I am a proud Australian, his steadfast belief in the liberty's and freedom of the common man are something every nations citizens must aspire to now more than ever. The entire world is in desperate short supply of such men but if we can learn anything from his words. It is that the people must take responcibility for the governments that represent us.
Thomas Jefferson's a hard nut to crack. I don't believe that he was an amiable man. He wasn't a saint. He wasn't an ideal Christian. He didn't lie, although he lived a lie with his forbidden "wife" Sally Hemings (or Hemmings). It's an exercise in futility to measure him by today's * topsyturn standards.
agreed the culture of their time was quite different than today's standards. in some ways we have grown much worse but yet they were worse with slavery etc...but is ideals and thinking on Government and Freedom are paramount and probably the greatest I have ever seen. He was a masterpiece and a brilliant man when trying to put a free country together for the people and not having it become corrupt by the government.
banks should be stoped long ago master jefferson! He was the best of the best, but then... well you know guys... no one use it as a pure doctrine! what it should be done too long ago!
Thomas Jefferson was a contradictory, aggravating ambivert (one who is midpoint betwixt introvert & extrovert). He is not all things to all people. He was not a heathen, nor a hedonist, nor an "atheist," as he was far too bright for these stupefying/stultifying labels.
Reading these posts I've noticed a lot of debate about political parties and people's affiliations towards them.
For whatever reason, people feel it as part of their identity that a political party must represents them. Can't you see that's the problem? This is what separates people into democrats and republicans and causes an "us" vs "them" mentality.
Lose these party divisions and think of each other as fellow men. Just like Jefferson said, "all men are created equal."
lol when jefferson said all men are created equal, what he meant was that in anarchy, all men are equal in rights. He did however endorse the idea that blacks were inherently inferior to whites.. just for the record.

@BapticostalFreak I disagree Bap. Because, the phrase "we deserved to get attacked" can be perceived in a number of different ways. @MrLion1945 Ron Paul and the CIA are both wrong, they are not GOD. The more we turn away from God the more we will continue to be looked on as a weak nation. @tonyamichael If it had been a Republican that said that you would have said he said we deserved to get attacked but since it was a libertarian that said it you must justify what he said.

@BapticostalFreak And yes, he is pro-life, but admits that those are only HIS beliefs, and believes that neither he, nor any other member of the federal government has the right to push their beliefs onto others. Therefore, it should be left up to the states to decide, and if you need an abortion bad enough that you're willing to cross state lines to get one, that's your right as well
UngratefulLiving420 6 months ago
@BapticostalFreak Ron Paul is 100% right about 9/11. In the years leading up to the attack, '97,'98, and '99, he was saying we need to change our foreign policy. He was saying that our occupation and having military bases in those countries would cause a blowback, as history has shown. And no one listened. Now we got idiots like you telling us RP thinks we "deserved" it. Sure we may not have committed the attacks, but our foreign policy definitely contributed to the motives behind them
UngratefulLiving420 6 months ago
@UngratefulLiving420 So you agree with RP that we deserved to get attacked? He could have said, I dont mean that we deserved to get attacked but maybe we should change our policies to avoid it in the future. If he would have said that he would have not be criticized about what he said. So now that we have morons like u that worship him, you probably also think its ok too have minors go across state lines to have an abortion like he voted yes for. I don't like the guys policies not him personally
BapticostalFreak 6 months ago
@BapticostalFreak Look man, I'm trying to look at things for what they are, this is about what history has shown, not opinion. From your first sentence I can see you didnt even read my comment. The point is, the American PEOPLE did nothing to deserve to be attacked, unless you consider ignorance a crime punishable by death. But unfortunately, we have to pay the price for the actions of our government, and the enemies that our government's militaristic empire has created puts our safety at risk
UngratefulLiving420 6 months ago
@BapticostalFreak How do we stop idiots from you from repeating blatant lies about Ron Paul? He NEVER said "we deserved" what happened on 911. He stated the reasons why we were attacked and he got that from just about the entire intelligence community who were assigned to counter-terrorism efforts including Michael Scheuer who created and ran the bin Laden unit for 12 years. He also gets his information from the founding fathers and the Constitution.

@QXZASX He is alive today. His name is Ron Paul and in 2012 he shall restore our Republic to the Greatness that it once was.

Crashtest517 2 years ago

I don't think that having the communist manifesto in song as the background music is very appropriate for the second greatest man to ever live.

wake up America!

yes! finally someone who understands! but you're forgetting the quote "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
Thomas Jefferson

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation then by deflation, the banks and the corporations will grow up around them, will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs." - Thomas Jefferson
now go look at the Federal Reserve act of 1913

why dont we have public servants like this today? if this man was were alive today he would be appauled at the way we have allowed our government to trample our rights, and at the current state of our country

* topsyturn [topsy-turvy + turn] : to turn upside down, fr. "Webster's Unabridged Dictionary," 1967

agreed the culture of their time was quite different than today's standards. in some ways we have grown much worse but yet they were worse with slavery etc...but is ideals and thinking on Government and Freedom are paramount and probably the greatest I have ever seen. He was a masterpiece and a brilliant man when trying to put a free country together for the people and not having it become corrupt by the government.

Thomas Jefferson was a contradictory, aggravating ambivert (one who is midpoint betwixt introvert & extrovert). He is not all things to all people. He was not a heathen, nor a hedonist, nor an "atheist," as he was far too bright for these stupefying/stultifying labels.
TheFutureUnquiet 2 years ago
Jefferson will ALWAYS be the man, but the one we really need right now amidst all the corruption is an Andrew Jackson.

no offense but altho in belief and devotion to the people, ron paul is equal to jackson. He doesnt have the charisma, appeal or balls of jackson.

FongoBongo 2 years ago 3
completey agree fongo- if we act as individuals instead of us vs. them we might accomplish more
bigotbegone 2 years ago 2
lol when jefferson said all men are created equal, what he meant was that in anarchy, all men are equal in rights. He did however endorse the idea that blacks were inherently inferior to whites.. just for the record.
