Barney Frank voted against the GRaham-Leach-Bliley Act and the Commodities Futures Modernization Act, there fore he is not to blame for the Financial meltdown. You don't present facts, doofus. You present leftist propaganda. Deregulation has nothing to do with the financial meltdown. The banking industry is one of the most heavily regulated of all. By your so-called logical reasoning, only the full nationalization of industry would prevent recessions. It is government interference (community reinvestment act) and the FEDs fucking money printing (making it easy to give loans) that caused it. Government fucks everything up.

@tridentmovies Gov't programs to get poor people homes (CRA) did not cause the Great recession, because 4 TIMES the assets of the actual home loans were at risk due to unregulated OTC derivatives by unregulated over-leveraged banks. The CRA was hijacked by predatory lenders, who sold OTC derivatives and credit-default-swaps of unregulated Mortgage-Backed-Securities to Wall St. which was 2-big-2-fail from the deregulation of GLB(1999) so we got stuck with the bills TARP and the FED Bailout.

There's no denying that Blagojevich got exactly what he deserved (at the very least). But as Bob points out, it's as if they're selective on who ultimately gets punished and who doesn't. The only reason Blagojevich was ultimatley punished was because it involved trying to solve now-President Barack Obama's senate seat, and now Obama wants to make himself look better by having one half of the duo take the fall.

Obviously good governance and equality of opportunity entails some government involvement into the market-place, such as some regulations, and some basic assistance for those who have reached the bottom... but not the corrupt vote-buying scheme that is socialism.
