Yes i would love to go to Evo but its very difficult when you live in another part of the world,I know of only one person that made it there from Ireland this year. Its very expensive and its difficult to find the money/time to go but i will make it their eventually.
very very good documentary. I recently just started going to my local arcade here in cincinnati, every thursday is fight night, from tekken to sf4, mvc3, even darkstalkers and its a blast!
Online play is nothing compared to being around 30-40 similar gamers sharing your intrests.
@Cegz23 Oh god, we forgot that we were using your footage because we got it from Rin.. I'm so sorry! I'll find a way to update the video or even re-upload in a new spot it if I have to, you deserve to be in the credits of course. Thanks for the amazing footage, it helped us so much.
@Cegz23 Haha.. Alright, I will. And Dragon lounge, do you know how many people will be there? It's a bit of a drive for me from my house, I usually come from school but the day's off
So much hype, for all the different games. Number 1 lesson from this video is how we all need to come together as a community to work towards our goals. Whether you play MvC, Tekken, SF, Melee, MK, or Blazblue....in the end we are all going for the same goal: to hype up fighting games to the next level. Its the community and social aspect that make us what we are.
This is one of the Best Documentary I have ever seen on the Fighting game community, it truly grabs the experience of being on both sides of the community, the people who put on the show and the people who watch the show =) AMAZING david.
There is no scene where I live around in Arizona, I practice MvC3 and SF3S like everyday and I haven't met anyone at my school who love fighting games like I do. This video makes me wish I had a scene near where I live. :\
@XxGspiritxX you know Latif from Arizona, enough said. even before SF4, he was BB champion, he grind online and everything to get where he is. so get inspired
@XxGspiritxX I assume you aren't around there but just in case, the Mesa Golfland has (or did a few months ago, haven't been out there in a while) Arcade Edition. Don't know how busy that place gets, but it's a decent place to start looking, if you're nearby.
@XxGspiritxX There has to be a scene somewhere, because Juicebox and 2nd place Evo super-star Latif are both in that state. Maybe it's far, but start working on a ride. Don't give up. Hope you're at Devastation.
@XxGspiritxX Bro i just moved to AZ last year and i found the scene. for the past couple months up until last month the Devastation crew have been holding Ran Bats for MvC3 & MK in Peoria. Along with the fact that ppl get together every thursday at Gameworks to play on the AE, MvC2, TvC, and 3S machines. you should come this thursday.
@noremacx8 Oh wow didnt know about the Gameworks thing going on, and its just a matter of transportation, dont have a car and no ride and plus I live all the way out in Surprise :(
@XxGspiritxX I completely get where you are coming from, same with me here in Colorado, my dream is to go to a city like Los Angeles or Singapore so that I can finally be part of a scene.
@XxGspiritxX I completely get where you are coming from, same with me here in Colorado, my dream is to go to a city like Los Angeles or Singapore so that I can finally be part of a scene.
There is not one arcade in the Pittsburgh area, no tournaments or players no reason to practice anymore. I need to start a scene but have no clue how...hell I could get about 200 people for a Madden or Black Ops tourney but not even 20 people for Street Fighter anything. Everyone just plays Call of Duty or Gears of War games here, even I excelled at Killzone 2 & 3 but I'm bored with fps'. I wish there was a fighting scene here I miss playing in arcades or getting together with some friends.
@NecroAeon666 Well this video is supposed to help with that. Hold a screening of it locally, if you can. If you stake an event for all gamers, and play this video, maybe some people will catch wind of the same passion you have. Don't give up!
good shit. I like how you also showcased the melee scene, Hopefully seeing that the passion is the same there as it is for street fighter, mvc, etc, peeps can stop hating on smash for no reason just because according to them "it isnt a fighting game"
Ironically, the Genesis 2 stream was off for most of the tournament.

Did I see clips of SMASH?
And I didn't hear people trash talking it?
Y'know, stuff like "Hurr hurr hurr it's a kid's game" and stuff.
Good stuff. Seriously.
I am personally not interested in communities and being buddy buddy and stuff. But I can understand that other people are.
Nice video.
