i swear ever video i watch about this drink people always say they are missing something. i understand it is hard to think that these drinks are made differently around the states.
lol @ a lot of the comments on here... Cocktails are at each bars discretion. As I know it in the UK it's 1/5th of each white spirits(vodka, gin, teq white, triple sec, rum) plus cola (and sours mix if u ask 4 it to take the edge off) .
there're diffrent variaties..but I prefere fresh lemonjuice and a teaspoon of sugar syrup instead of the chemical sweet&sour ...It's just a question of taste...
Long Island Iced Tea Cocktail... 1/2 part Gin 1/2 part White rum 1/2 part Tequila 1 part Vodka 1/2 part Triple sec top up Cola dash of Lime juice dash of Lemon juice USE LIME AND LEMON TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE ;) Ice cubes 1 Lemon wedge SHAKE all the ingredients (except cola) ;) with ice. Strain and pour into a highball glass. Top up with cola. Thats a Long Island Iced Tea 'NJOY ;)

This is how I learned from Bartending school...for making Long Island Ice Tea....and this is what should be on your speed rack, in order: Vodka, Gin, Rum, Tequila, Triple Sec and a splash of coke/pepsi
there is tequlia in it i went to bar tending school i did the chorse and they way i was taught was 1/2 tequlia 1/2 triple sec 1/2 rum 1/2 vodka 1/2 gin sour mix and pepsi
If it's illegal to serve more then 2oz of liqour in Texas then you should've seen him make the mai tai. It was 2 oz light rum and 2 oz dark rum. and some other ingredients that he call a mai tai at the end. But to me it looks like shit.
you guys are funny. anyone who has been in the bar business long enough knows that drink recipes will vary (somewhat) depending on where you're at. btw, the reason he's only pouring 1/2 oz is because it's illegal to serve a drink in tx that contains more than 2oz of liqour.
cabbagepulley got it "right", when using teq. it's called a "tx tea". atleast around here that's what it is.
A lot of places makes it without tequila couse it has a defined taste than can ruine the cocktail for a lot of people i worked in 4 bars and made it with and without depends on the recipe they choose
I prefer a Long Island Iced Tea without the tequila aswell and am glad to see someone actually doing it that way.
Also, there is absoluteley no need to shake a Long Island because the ingredients used combine very quickly if you give them just a slight stir, as none of them contains a large amount of sugar or cream. Cocktails are only shaken if the ingredients mix up rather slowly.
However, I do think that you should always use fresh lemon juice and not some premade mixer.
I'm a bartender and I have people ask me to leave tequilla out all the time, but this is a how to video on a site called "expert village" they should show you the exact way a drink is to be made and not be so lazy about it... the other guy they have on this site with the douche bag gotee and tattoos is worse tho lol
u fucking moron where the hell is the tequila (ur a bartender in texas wtf?) and ur also missing the sour mix fucking dumbass moron and plus you didnt even shake it
If you add the tequilla, it becomes a Texas Tea. I prefer using Cointreau instead of triple sec (much better) Never use sour mix...always freshly squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup (sugar makes the drink the drink a little cloudy).
PPPPFFFTTTTT HAHA! In your dreams it is dude!

@a90351cleveland When you insult someone, make sure you are actually right.
Texas Tea is just another name for the Long Island Iced Tea, which includes tequila.

You need to learn how to pour. Liquor costs are probably insane wherever you work. Overpour much.

I believe you gotta shake all the ingredients up and also use tequila
This will probably taste alright.

go on then enlighten us...?
it was created in babylon, long island and maybe the original version is different, but the IBA's official ingredients include tequila
silverginger86 3 years ago
that is such a cliche statement. i feel if the bartender knows how to make good drinks, they can pretty much get any drink right.

lol ,,,This clown is actually bragging about living in Long Island, NY. I have seen it all.
thehottub99 3 years ago
If you add tequila it is no longer a Long Island Iced Tea, it is then what is known as an Electric Iced Tea or a Texas Tea.

I shake
1/2 ounce of tequila
1/2 ounce vodka
1/2 ounce gin
1/2 ounce bacardi rum
