@BigSips i started w/ a saitek x-1. lol but they don't sell that one no more. r8 now i use x-52, cost me a hundred something bucks but is worth every penny. got basically EVERY function in iL2 mapped on it, sometimes six per button. got a lower buget, like me ~10yrs ago? cyborg evo ($30 then) did the job.
generally, just take care it has (or in the end you have) throttle, coolie hat and at least 2 axis, 3 if u don't want to get rudder pedals. oh, and go HOTAS. that helps a lot.
Thanks for these videos! I watched the whole series! I just started playing IL-2 1946 and these videos really helped alot! My first kill(kind of ) was a B-25 bomber. I hit it's left engine and it set ablaze. It started spiraling down and I felt proud, then all of the sudden some guy comes out of nowhere and shoots it just as it's about to crash and he gets the kill! Whatever, I have a feeling that I'll be getting some more kills soon :)
@ofir2008 somewhere i read beginners should try to down allied planes first, because they won't turn away. else try something like the c-47, or the me-323 without ammo. then continue with ww1 fighters like the p11 or those biplanes they have in there. succeding, the top level would be equal or better fighters.
Lol funny vid
