  • i bet it fucking stinks in there

  • I have been watching these videos of working hounds over in other countries and seeing all the negative feedback. Those dogs are in better condition than 90% of the dogs in "our" homes. These dogs have a purpose... to put dinner on the table. They are a tool and not a pet. Not that the caretakers are indifferent, but their mentaility is different. Before you had Fido sitting at your feet being your everfaithful companion there were working dogs. I have a hunting pack of hounds myself.

  • Working dogs are the happiest because they love routine and purpose. Think about that while you kennel your dog all day and go to your cubicle.

  • Actually I have seen dogs before I have four of my own which are very loved. My dogs have their own beds and not crammed like a can of sardines like your video here.

  • @inkcrazysara The difference is that yours are pet dogs, and these are working hounds.

  • @inkcrazysara lol this is not crammed, if they were uncomfortable they would show signs of stress and probably attack each other! think of how dogs sleep! curled up in a tight little ball, and if there are other doggy friends chances are they r huddled together, so what I see here are nice lookin dogs acting like dogs:)

  • @DVDISCO Well said :)

  • @AdrianHconnection I try:)

  • Looks like bedtime at my place...

  • Dogs deserve to be loved much more than this. They also deserve proper beds.

  • @neomuttley Dogs do deserve to be loved, but theres no lack of love in this video, you want to put carpet or pillows down that'll just bring up the temperature, they have each other to lean on or to cuddle in close if it is cold but they cant do much if it's too hot lol. These guys are calm and content which is an great state for a dog to be in.

  • @abarford1, Sorry, but I'm still not feeling the love. All I see is cold concrete & indifference.

  • Attack of the clones :)

  • Awww. There so loving towards each other it looks like<3

  • Look at all those droopy healthy faces, they must be so happy, so my exercise and interaction with other dogs.

  • a happy and healthy pack of hounds.

  • is it too crowded for them?

  • @cpu1917 That's just the bed, which opens out onto an outdoor yard. In the heat of the Summer most of the hounds will sleep out on the yard.

  • I show English foxhounds in akc conformation shows. This morning I helped take out a hunts pack of 60+ dogs with one of Americas best hounds man. First time out and it was quite fun. For the person who was wondering about a breeder on the eat coast talk to sue Whaley. She is the main English foxhound person and located on the east coast. For David Martin...it depends on what you consider smart. Trainability...not so much, no wherenclose to let's say herding dogs. But as in independence they kno

  • If I lived at the hunts kennel I'd be lying in there with the hounds daily.

    Which hunt out of interest?

Used to hunt with the Heythrop quite regularly before the ban and they had beautiful hounds.

  • that really is the most gorgeous video! Their beautiful shiny reddy coats, they look in wonderful condition and so content. Thanks for sharing this.

  • I've never had any contact with this breed.

    Are they smart dogs?

They look a lot like Beagles which are the dumbest dogs I've ever came across.

  • they are pretty!

  • my spaniel only sleeps on a wooden pallet, wont sleep on a bed or anything

  • A dog to another dog: Hey watch that Tail!!!

  • DOG PILE!!

  • that's were my beagle's going when she retirers

  • Bed? looks like a rocky basement...

  • @VaIIentine That's a traditional raised hound bed. Insulated to make it cool in Summer without bedding and warm in Winter with bedding.

  • Don't know any breeders in the US, you could try the MFHA of America. Pups are a bit unsure of horses to start with, but they soon follow the older ones!

  • @followhounds Do you ever take unwanted or rescue hounds into your pack? Would they adapt to the hierarchy? When the hounds retire, what happens to them? If someone was rescuing a foxhound from abuse, would they be able to adapt to house living the way another dog would, or would they become depressed? I'm fascinated by these unique animals.

  • @followhounds Does your pack ever take in unwanted or rescue hounds? Would they fall in with the pack hierarchy? When the hounds retire, what happens to them? I see them up for adoption from time to time; If a person wanted to rescue a foxhound from abuse, would the hound adapt to house living, or would he/she become depressed? I'm fascinated by these unique animals.

  • Do you know any breeders in the U.S? Im dieing to get a male and female and its sooo hard to find a breeder on the east coast who has any left atll. also how do they do around the horses at first? they are very gorgouz and all look extreamly happy and well fit.

  • get your damn dogs fixed!!! people like you make my job hellshy hard

  • @Metal8Lover Can you explain why people like me make your job hard? I suspect your problem is with breeding policies. Packs of hounds only breed as many pups as they need to. No hounds from working packs are ever sold or put into rescue homes. Do some research into working packs of hounds, you might learn something.

  • @followhounds so said the last person who gave up his 149 dogs after 48 years on "the hunt"

  • @Metal8Lover This pack of hounds has been going since 1860, its not going to fold in my lifetime. If you looked into hunting in the UK you would see how rare it is for packs of hounds to cease hunting. Hunts that amalgamate with other hunts then share out any spare hounds with other packs. It is a shame that hunting does not operate in the same way in your country.

  • @followhounds where do you think he came from

  • @Metal8Lover In America, foxhounds have been sold by hunting people into pet homes. In the UK there are regulations which prevent hunts from selling hounds. Hunting in the UK is very different to what you have in America.

  • @followhounds he came from england. but thats good just be careful. big packs of dogs are hard to take care of. especially when the dogs keep haveing puppys. when one gets sick they all get sick. foxs and other "game" prey aren't by any means clean. Sarcoptes scabiei can be very deadly this time year

  • @morgasm657 just being friendly asshole "go smoke a bowl and smile" ^_^ keeping that many dogs in one place and time is not at all healthy for the dogs they die not my problem good luck with where worms

  • @Metal8Lover totally sorry man, shit month at work, normally wouldn't have said anything so offensive but i was drinking more than i was smoking this week, it has an adverse effect on me.

  • @morgasm657 all is good in love and kush

  • wow i have a dog just like those an english foxhound we actually keep him as a pet, he's the sweetest dog ive ever had, what do you do with yours?

  • @ImChrisJericho

Are you a fucking idiot or what?

What do you think a pack of old English foxhounds does?

Jesus, there are some really stupid people on YouTube !!!!!

  • omg is this is APT for hounds? I hope they won't bark at night.

  • great

  • Beautiful beautiful dogs. They look so happy and excited to see you.

  • They are beautiful, we recently bought a Beagle bitch, only to find out shes actually a Foxhound lol, we do not mind because she is so beautiful and loving she loves to be close to you and when she snuggle you she likes her face next to ours. She is 6 month old and 17 inch tall.

  • Holy moly, where did you get her from where you were told she was a beagle and not a foxhound?

  • Do you know what?

I keep watching this video and I reckon that to snuggle down amongst these hounds would be safest, friendliest and warmest place to be on a cold night. x

  • Do they have a leader within the pack?

  • The leader of the pack is the Huntsman. All the hounds look to him for direction, instructions and leadership, both in kennels and on the hunting field. Within the pack there is a pecking order, not necessarily age or size related.

  • @followhounds ?is this pack in ireland and what pack?

  • Can we get it right, please?

    These are HOUNDS !

    HOUNDS !!!!!

Working hounds... they live together as a pack, which is why they are so content and well cared for by the huntsman and kennelman.

    Stop calling them dogs!

  • @staffsmole

They're like wolves, but not (obviously).

They like to be around one another.

I have an English Foxhound (With the tiniest amount of labrador. He was a rescue dog) and he likes to be with you wherever you go.

  • Can we get it right, please?

    These are RECTANGLES !

    RECTANGLES !!!!!!

Rectangles.. they have four sides, four congruent angles, and the opposite sides are also congruent.

    Stop calling them quadrilaterals!

  • Would you like it if all East Asian people were called Chinkies?

Would you like it if all south asian people were called Pakis?

My point is that there are many breeds of dogs; and these are working hounds.

If you have an interest in this video then you would understand that.

    Your ignorance is appauling.

The English Foxhound has spread all over the world simply because it's breeding was exported to hunt foxes.

Please don't mock me when I challenge people who call them dogs.

  • How is that relevant? It would be like calling all East Asian people "East Asians". "Dog" is not a derogatory term, it is a term used to described mammals in the genus "canis." Foxhounds are a member of this genus, therefore it is completely appropriate to call them dogs. Educate yourself before you attempt to educate others.

  • @staffsmole About as appalling as your spelling.

  • WOW THATS ALOT OF DOGS!

  • very elegant and proud looking

  • On first viewing, I was a bit nervous about seeing so many dogs packed together and what kind of setting they have to live in. The more I watch though, the more that I can see that they appear to be healthy, happy dogs, doing what they were bred for.

I really hope that they are very well taken care of.

  • Wow, foxhound convention lol

  • These are dogs, here. Animals are neat; the pusillanimous need not apply. And when the sun sets, we appropriate.

  • gorgeous hounds. what do you feed them? flesh? they all look perfect

  • Yes, they are fed on flesh. It is the most natural feed for hounds.

  • why do you have so many??

  • dp u ever have any puppies for sale if so my dad i desparate for a female on but not looking to breed he we are moving to greece soon and we have done all our reaserch and everything plaese do get back to me asap

  • Sorry, we never have any pups for sale. Any pups that are bred are kept. You could try looking for a breeder through the Kennel Club.

  • where do you put their shit?

  • What an odd question. It goes on to a muckheap to rot down and then gets spread on fields.

  • Too many dogs is one area! Looks like they arent taken care of they seem unhappy.

  • Unhappy? With all that tail wagging?

  • What in the world would make them look unhappy? That is one of the best looking packs I have seen in a long time (excepting my own. I run 50 couple :-) )

  • @inkcrazysara If those are unhappy dogs, you have never seen a dog.

  • do u show any of them ?

  • DANG!!!! thats alot of dogs!

  • wow i love the hounds but that is a lot of dogs and they look so healthy

  • They are very healthy, and loved.

  • i have been interested in getting a foxhound for a pet but i cant seem to find a breeder anywhere. maybe you can point me in the right direction.

  • @mjdillaha They are very difficult to domesticate.

  • how many are there? wow

  • Hounds are counted in couples, and there are 38 couple all together.

  • wow thats alot of dogs. how many litters of puppies have you had at 1 time?

  • The most we had was 6 litters in one Summer, that was 4 years ago.

  • do you keep the puppies ?

  • Yes, but we might give one to someone else if we used their dog for breeding.

  • wow i got 6 dogs 1 cat , 2 birds and thats all we can handle lol.

  • 6 dogs! thats a lot!

  • how do you take care of them all ?

  • Its a full time job for 2 people, exercising them, feeding them and cleaning up after them...

  • i bet
