  • Hello Alia,

Just wanted to say thank you for this video. I made this dish for my Moroccan husband, and he loved it....said it reminded him of back home. I've always wanted to learn to cook Moroccan food (the best in the world!) You make it easy to follow. A great dish for upcoming Ramadan! Shukran bzef!

  • i thought kefta was pieces of meat in fat? or am i getting it confused with something else?

  • My take on this is that we can make life as hard or easy as we want :-)

I personally love the U.S. there are tons of opportunities and you could become the person you dream to become. but at the same time, I miss Morocco dearly... I will always have my heart in both places, and that's the hardest part, you can never be in both places at the same time!

  • Are you realy from Marocko? :S

  • Absolutely! raised there all my life until I move to the US 6 years ago. Rabat more specifically :-)

  • @cookingwithalia Can you go back and visit Morocco? That is one place I want to visit. Thank you for your videos. I'm working my way through Claudia Roden's book.

  • this is such a lovely recipe! thank you! it's very easy to cook and my husband loves it! :)

  • so glad you guys enjoyed it :-)

  • مرحبا بيك في دبي.الامارات

  • you know i made this with ground turkey...and the ginger worked well with it...everyone love it....

  • so glad you enjoyed it! and you are right, ginger goes so well with poultry.

    cheers :-)

  • I think instead of grating the tomatoes, it would be easier to just peel the tomatoes and then chop them.

  • hello again alia thankyou for your reply last time.. i have made this dish many times i cook it in a tagine dish and i brown the meat balls befor adding to the sauce we then eat it in tradition moroccon way with bread out of the tagine dish keep up the good work many many thx

  • Are the tomatoes you use not very ripe?

  • They look like green house tomatoes, I use the same ones as I don't like the thick peels of the other one in salad for example, but for cooking and blanching/peeling it's easy to use the other red/italian tomatoes. I would prefer those for more depth of flavour.

  • yes, absolutely you are right. but they are a little pricier than the one I used. so I only buy the red tomatoes that are attached with the stem in special occasions :-) since I use like a million tomtatoes a week :-D

and also you are right about the peeling, it's much easier when you put them for few seconds in boiling water. I should show that in a video, I guess just got used to peel them :-)

thanks for all the comments. very good points!

    cheers

  • You're right about the price!! But yes, do show it if you can as a lot of people have gardens and tomato overload sometimes so it would be good for them to know how as you can't peel those tomatoes the way you do with the knife - I tried it hehe.

  • I tried this and it was a big hit! Thanks! My friend said it reminded him of his childhood :-)

  • Thanks for another great recipe!
