Huckabee has been so steady with his economic analysis and ideas. I would love to see his FairTax plan...talk about a solid way to create jobs and economic opportunity.
And just to prove your "research" wrong, Huckabee did sign the no tax pledge.
"Mike Huckabee officially delivered a signed Presidential Taxpayer Protection Pledge to Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) President Grover Norquist during ATRs Wednesday Meeting in Washington, D.C. this morning.
We applaud Governor Huckabee for signing the Presidential Taxpayer Protection Pledge, Norquist said. Governor Huckabee recognizes that the challenge is to rein in spending and reduce taxes."
I have done my research. You're the one drinking the 21st century FAKE Republican kool-aid of big government and big spending. Go back to kissing Bush and McCain's globalist asses.
Governor Huckabee, by the end of his tenure, was responsible for a 37% higher sales tax in Arkansas, 16% higher motor fuel taxes, and 103% higher cigarette taxes;
Governor Huckabee refused to take the pledge to not raise taxes if elected President in 2007;
Governor Huckabee is responsible for spending increases of 65.3% from 1996 to 2004;
Governor Huckabee is responsible for a 20% increase in the number of state government workers;
Gov. Huckabee balanced the budget EVERY yr. for 10 1/2, halved welfare and got ARKids for school age kids to have health care. He governed in a state controlled by the democrats (much as Bush did the last 2 yrs). He ran that state more conservatively than ANY Republican ever could with 2/3 of the state reps. democrats. NO ONE could have done better. Gov. Huckabee knows the meaning of by-partisanship because he lived it in Arkansas!
ooo i really liked this... ive alwasy been a big fan and its good to see that its going forward in a good direction. hopefully there will be more postive resutls.
Former Governor Huckbee is trying really hard to sound like a conservative these days. He has come along way since advocating subsidized education for illegal aliens. Glad to see he has convictions.
You should probably learn the context of issues like that before typing silly comments like this.
Huckabee was for a sane immigration policy like he should. But there are mandates to educate children of illegal immigrants, and it is obvious that it is better to keep gifted students in your state and be a citizen as opposed to a tax taker.
Mr. Huckabee can hold any position he likes. But sounds to me, he is in the wrong party. If you subsidized something you get more of it. This is what socialists, like Mike, fail to recognize. So he is currently reinventing himself.
You and your other faux-cons sure like that phrase, "subsidized education for illegal aliens." Is that what they call a merit-based scholarship these days. Let me ask you a question: What was the name of the scholarship that Huckabee wanted illegal immigrants to apply for and possible recieve?
Drahthaar422, for the benefit of socialists like yourself. In order to be a scholarship, one must possess then give. The government does not own anything. So, the government by the use of force/threat of force must take private property(money often called taxes) from the real owners to provide a service or product. Much more could be said--but I think this is a bit much for you to grasp. Subsidy is the correct word; if Mike calls it anything else it would be incorrect.
Hey, thanks for answering my question. Nice research you've done there.
The Constitution gives states the right to govern their own education process, and merit-based scholarships from the state are fair game. These scholarships help keep the smart kids in Arkansas and help out the state. I don't quite understand your reasoning. Yes, they're funded by taxpayers, but it benefits everyone because it boosts the Arkansas economy. It's not a bad thing, and the gov. isn't encroaching on any rights.
Drahthaar422, like I said before, if you like big government; Mr. Huckabee is your guy. You know, if government got out of "education" all together; that the price of tuition would actually go down. Colleges would compete for students based on price. Then, poor people could actually afford to go to school. Republicans used to be about eliminating the department of education. With all this government intervention, Mike sounds more like a Democrat then a Republican of limited government.
People are already pealing off the Obama bumper stickers. Republicans will get back 1 or both houses in 2010 and the White House in 2012. In the end, leftist radicals make poor leaders and can only retain power through subjugation and if they try it here it will be civil war. Yet, saner minds will prevail, hence, Republicans win the White House in 2012..
I mean really, libtards are mostly children who want to feel good about themselves. Let's give them some adult supervision.
conservatives don't you see what is going on all around you? your party is falling apart, its destroying itself. Your getting loonier and grasping at straws to the max. Promoting Joe the Plumber like he actually did anything to look up to. Promoting the airhead Sarah Palin. Your turning against your own and denying you had anything to do with the disaster that was the last 8 years. Good bye, hopefully for good.
I think you are totally off the wall just like this current Administration is! Number one Joe the Plumber...he may not be a "rich politician type" but he makes a lot of sense..which this country is sorely lacking. I would rather see a "Common Man" in the Government that the "Criminals that are in Government now. Sarah Palin is NOT an air head, you must be watching too much SNL and MSNBC both are equal in News if that's where you get your so called news.
Joe the Plumber makes a lot of sense?!? AHHHHHH dude he hasn't even said one thing remotely sane! talking about how Obama will destroy Israel and basking in his own undeserved attention. seriously do you live in a dream?
Well ole Joe just might have something since Obama is giving Gaza money to rebuild after Israel had to stand up against Hamas for continually firing rockets upon Israel. He (Obama) is giving our money to Gaza which in turn will only embolden them to fire more rockets into Israel. Joe the Plumber has more common sense than Obama the Community Organizer!
"Well ole Joe just might have something since Obama is giving Gaza money to rebuild after Israel had to stand up against Hamas for continually firing rockets upon Israel." Lies and propaganda spoon fed to you by the repulicans. Israel attacked Gaza and caused hundreds of civilian casualties, they did this with American money and weapons. It is Obama's duty to repay Gaza for the damage we and Israel have done their.
You my friend are being "spoon fed" by whatever wacko's you listen to....Israel is the victim in all of this...They give up land for peace and all they ever get is fired upon...it is a proven fact! What else can you expect from a liberal , rude and crude comments and attacks. That's what you know how to do.
its sad, I hope one day you will make it out of your bubble. Fox news is lying and brainwashing, no wonder you think Israel is the innocent victim in all of this.
I love how you bring up all the funny slogans created by your party's elite i.e. Limbaugh, O'Reilly and anyone and everyone from fox news. since when is it a bad thing to help your community, it was in his 20s, but of course he could have been a beauty queen/sportscaster like Palin.
You remind me of a toddler who thinks he wants to play grown up and is stubborn as an ox. Listening to what the bigger kids are saying and spewing it out all proud like you came up with the idiotic sentiments yourself. You should be castrated from preventing you from creating more of your kind and if you already have kids they should be taken from you and de-brainwashed. I don't have the time of day to deal with people who don't even have a valid point to make.
Let's talk about Obama and all his great pick's...Timothy Geithner (the tax cheat),Tom Daschle (the tax cheat), Gov. Richardson (under investigation)..and lest we forget...Joe Biden the Vice President..."One Heart Beat away from teh Presidency"....the Gaffe man himself! He is more of a danger than Obama is...well let me re think that...It's a Tie!

I wonder why people like you think you have a right to talk about such things when they are supporters of Sarah Palin, Dick Cheney and of course the puppet Bush. Shove a sock in it.
Latest news, the GOP are now promoting a 13 year old boy. Airhead Palin/13 year old boy 2012. But where will that leave Joe the Plumber? :(

Hey mutslikeu, we don't have Romney because HE COULD NOT WIN a single major primary (Iowa, New Hampshire, & South Carolina). Don't blame Huckabee because your guy couldn't win with all the money and media he had available to his campaign. And if you want to talk about conservatism, Romney is the one who changed his views to line up with the party-line only when he decided to run for President.
