Actually I'm not. My music teacher and a couple of friends who sing (pretty well..jelous XP)told me about that. Tarja had to do a falsetto to reach the high notes because of her voice range (deep)
Tarja's voice range was 3 octaves, I think (I'm soprano :P) it is much enought to make high notes and deep notes :D Tarja's range: F#3-F#6. So I think that your music teacher was joking :D

Anette sucks ass. Tarja is a pro and has the voice of an angel, whereas Anette sounds like a karoeke singer that's struggling to keep up with the words on the screen, going off key and screaching the notes she's not sure about.
I was once so incredibly worried about the effect Anette's more pure, clean voice would carry out the incredible power that Tarja's did. After hearing her perform Nemo, Ever Dream and Wishmaster at the San Antonio concert, my worries have been laid to rest. They definantly found a truly magnificent replacement in Anette and personally, I feel that it was an awesome change up for the direction they continue to progress in with their music.

Well, ive got a copy of the actual letter that was put on the internet and what i've come to conclusion on it was that tarja told them 2yrs prior that she wanted out because they weren't giving her no time for her solo career as well.They wanted her to devote all her time, which made it hard for her. around 2yrs later after a concert, the next day it was posted on their site that they didn't want her no longer in the band. I feel that they should've told this to her face.
Yeah, but i still think it was crappy considering that she gave them 2 yrs notice and all they gave her was a crappy letter. Maybe they felt that her two yrs were about to be up and went a head and told her. Tarja acted like it was a shock, but she was the one who originally ended it.

you see, for me, and I'm sure many other NIGHTWISH fans, the real end of an era was the "century child" CD b/c from that point on, real choirs, real orchestras, and heavier, more complex guitar/bass/drums began to take over. idk, I heard Anette sing Nemo, and I thought she did fine w/ it, as well as w/ ever dream, dark chest of wonders, and wishmaster. ill stick to playing their old songs........the new nightwish isnt as good as when tarja was with them, the sound has changed, but tarja is ok as a solo singer but still nothing like when the group was still intact.........good thing is their old songs never fade out you can play them in ten yrs time and theyll still sound great and new

What I think is funny is how all these people take the time to talk shit on these videos. If you don't like the video, don't watch it, if you don't like Nightwish now, don't waste the fans' and the band's time by posting hate comments. This is the direction Nightwish went towards, get over it and stop bitching. I love all DPP and I love Anette's vocals, and if you don't, thats fine, but like I said, don't waste our time trying to make an invalid point.

Anette has a much, much more open voice range. Tarja's voice was very closed. Even Marco has a larger range than Tarja.

Actually I'm not. My music teacher and a couple of friends who sing (pretty well..jelous XP)told me about that. Tarja had to do a falsetto to reach the high notes because of her voice range (deep)

Tarja's voice range was 3 octaves, I think (I'm soprano :P) it is much enought to make high notes and deep notes :D Tarja's range: F#3-F#6. So I think that your music teacher was joking :D
And Anette doesn't need "falsetto", she always sings "out of tone" :D

I really don't think that Anette is a bad singer, and she is definitely not the same as Tarja. But Tuomas already said that he wasn't looking for another operistic voice, and There is nobody better than him to tell who must sing his songs. Again, Annette is not a dad singer at all, she is actually pretty good.

Anette sucks ass. Tarja is a pro and has the voice of an angel, whereas Anette sounds like a karoeke singer that's struggling to keep up with the words on the screen, going off key and screaching the notes she's not sure about.

I was once so incredibly worried about the effect Anette's more pure, clean voice would carry out the incredible power that Tarja's did. After hearing her perform Nemo, Ever Dream and Wishmaster at the San Antonio concert, my worries have been laid to rest. They definantly found a truly magnificent replacement in Anette and personally, I feel that it was an awesome change up for the direction they continue to progress in with their music.

Well, ive got a copy of the actual letter that was put on the internet and what i've come to conclusion on it was that tarja told them 2yrs prior that she wanted out because they weren't giving her no time for her solo career as well.They wanted her to devote all her time, which made it hard for her. around 2yrs later after a concert, the next day it was posted on their site that they didn't want her no longer in the band. I feel that they should've told this to her face.

Actually, they gave her the letter directly after the last concert of the Once tour (The one that End of an Era was filled at).
And they said in the letter that it was an "open letter" for everyone to see.

It's true that Nightwish is not the same.... the orchestral parts are grander, the choirs bigger, and the music is more complex, dramatic and emotional. If you fail to see that then you are not nor never were a nightwish fan, you only liked Tarja. TUOMAS IS THE ONE WHO ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

you see, for me, and I'm sure many other NIGHTWISH fans, the real end of an era was the "century child" CD b/c from that point on, real choirs, real orchestras, and heavier, more complex guitar/bass/drums began to take over. For me, "Once" was the beginning of a new era, not the end. Anyone else want to agree w/ me here?

Tarja fans watch this because we wanted to hear what she sounded like, and yeah some of her songs are good like eva, pretty song. But my opinion, i bet tarja could sing it better. If anettes wants to sing, fine, but she needs to stay away from tarjas songs, she cannot sing them like tarja can, you don't believe me, then just listen to anette try and sing nemo. Im sure that's what the band wants her to do but shes needs to know to at least stay away from tarjas songs.

idk, I heard Anette sing Nemo, and I thought she did fine w/ it, as well as w/ ever dream, dark chest of wonders, and wishmaster. She hit all the notes right, she just doesn't use that warbling or whatever the correct musical term is for that opera sound. I might be the only one, but I have accepted the change and will always love NIGHTWISH. And personally, I really don't think Tarja's voice would work w/ any song on the new album
