  • Yours is by far the most beautiful I have seen on YouTube for this project! I'm sure a lot of people actually took the time to look at it. With so many in the project this year, I wonder how many will actually be looked at with time taken to really admire them. More than 28800 for 2011!

  • @Shaysailor Thank you so much for the nice words. I can't even imagine 28800 books. I didn't have time to participate this year but enjoyed this project a lot. (wish I could see it in person again)

  • amazing book, woah.

  • Gorgeous book, words, love it all. O:>) Renee

  • What did you do with the 16 perforated pages at the back? Remove them? This is such beautiful work! Are you doing SP 2011?

  • @MappingWonderland I used maskin over the perforation. I didn't know they were meant to be that way. I thought that was a mistake in mine. duh!

  • one more question what type of glue did you use to join the pages together?

  • @camsmyth101 I'm sure I used my glue of choice, Golden Matte Medium

  • what did you seal your pages with?

  • @camsmyth101

I used Dorelands Wax. There is a demonstration video at my Viemo channel. I just changed the setting so you can watch it. Most videos there are not visable as I use Vimeo for my class videos. Search for Sharon Tomlinson

  • I LOVE this!!! you are amazing. i wish i could create something this wonderful!

  • This is Awesome ! Your artwork is stunning.

I am doing the sketchbook project 2011.

I was wondering: did you rebind the sketchbook are used the original pages or work outside and glued in ? Because the pages are so thin, I am afraid to use acrylic on it.

Thanks for sharing, this is wonderful.

  • @NolwennBC Thanks so much.

I glued 3 pages together and then applied gesso which made a great surface to paint on. I was late getting started on the project and knew I would never have time for that many pages.

  • @allnorahsart Thanks a lot Sharon !

  • How did you blend them in?

paintbrush? sponge? btw your artwork is absolutely fantastic, i can't stop looking at it!

  • how did you create the blurry effect on the page before it says 'A timekeepers diary'

    watercolours?

  • @Annaishmint Hello, The background on each page in the book was painted first. I used Golden Heavy Body acrylic paint and completed the background by blending them together and using the number stencil in a random manner on each page. Then I went back and painted the face.
