@aplayaz2000 Half the Goosebumps books were written by ghostwriters, and after the first few they were all much lighter, horror in the sense of featuring monsters and such (I'll allow an exception for I Live In Your Basement because ultimate mindscrew). It also always relied on the same tropes and such, particularly the twist at the end. AYAOTD had the first introduction to horror for most nineties kids, with an excellent framing device and, in general, better, more interesting stories.

Same concept something is stolen from a dead creature and they follow that person to their house till they get it back. Only differences are Zebo isn't screaming at the top of his voice for it he's just torturing Josh emotionally for it and Josh caved instead of dying or coming face to face with Zebo.
