I'd agree with that 100% Funhouse is IMO the best rock album ever, and the one of the most adventurous. The only other one I'd call futuristic even now is Roxy Music's "For Your Pleasure."

Never heard Roxy's "for your Pleasure" but thanx for the info cause I love music that still, and always sounds futuristic.Check this if you havent heard the whole album. In my opinion the most futuristic album ever: Bowies 1970 album "The Man who sold the World". Even today it still sounds so far ahead of its time. And with just mainly guitars,bass and drums.
