  • @427ImportEater: is your 427 a {4 bolt main???}

  • @1968elcamino496 yes studded

  • Gotta love the demon carb what cfm are you running? I'm running 825 on my 454 and it's awesome sweet car and keep eating those rice burners!

  • @28blay 1000 cfm race demon

  • @tylerfabish Double clutching is done by clutching to pull the shifter out of gear into neutral, then releasing it for a second, then clutching again to get into the next gear. Double clutching is only necessary when you have a non synchronized tranny, so all factory trannys that you will drive will not require double clutching (unless you drive an 18 wheeler).

  • bad ass

  • this is wat i live for

  • My Prius is faster.

  • I know your in Canada but in 4th cruising the hiway with the 4.88 gears doing about 70MPH whatever that is in kilometers per hour what is the RPM's? im going to guess around 4,000.

  • @greenjeens 60 mph is 100kmh at about 400

  • Best intro ever...

  • like the intro

  • Awesome car man, i got a 68 also with a sb pushing around 380hp with a t5 borg warner tranny behind her(i feel like a school girl after watching your wicked vid) haha i need some adjustable control arms for my ride as my caster is maxed out(dont know if the cars been wrecked before) this is what i was told to do at a body shop. Any suggestions on a particular brand

  • @NiqHowie If the factory ones were damaged, going with a good set of tubular control arms and sway bars should help. Unless your hitting the road course adjustable fronts may be a bit much, but i am not a suspension expert

  • @diatoneic Must be reckless I guess. I myself just recently joined the ranks of the power shifters. Everything has to be happy with your transmission, clutch linkage, and shifter. Once you get it down though there is no going back. It makes even the fastest speed shifting feel like granny shifting. Too bad the only power shifting video I've made has poor sound, it sounds ,to me anyway, like I am raising off the throttle, but I'm not. Long live the gear jammers.

  • what kind of 1/4 mile time does this car have.

  • how manny liters per 100 km?

  • @mitteey if you drive a car like this gas milage doesnt matter to you

  • @427ImportEater relly dose it get around 3mpg ?

  • Awesome dude! I saw liters on the fuel pump, where are u from?

  • @fernando306 canada

  • @427ImportEater Very nice, Canada is a great country :)

  • Not hard to believe. When speed shifting the '70 ,now that I have the second lightest spring in the Holley, it barks them on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. When power shifting it the car wants to get radical. That's just with a tired old 402. Ok, not really tired, but when compared to something pushing out over 600 it's a childs car.

  • well yesterday the tires broke loose on a hard 2-3 (believe it or not). And i do have a limiter, i may set it down to 5500 or so to practice

  • I would suggest practicing at low throttle first. When you can shift it fast enough to not hear the RPM come up move up in throttle. Having a rev limiter would be a real good idea. I don't have one, but then again I never claimed to be very smart. Be warned though, things will get rather violent with 600 horsepower and street tires. Even with the 425 or so horsepower 402 in the '70 it wanted to get side ways when I nailed second. It sure is fun though.

  • I gotta agree with Nova Racer 1963. Stab the loud pedal and hold on for dear life as you nail each gear. It took a while to get over the fact I was about to hold my foot to the floor and hit the clutch, but I got over it. Don't ever think about it while you are doing it, just go for it. If you think about it you are going to screw up.

  • hey, you got a point there. Ill be sure to give it a try this weekend at the track. check back

  • @LeperMessiah760 how come we never even thought of letting of the pedal...lol gotta love it

  • We had two. One was an all aluminum Muncie 4 speed, the other (an auto) was a Marv Ripes 2 speed PowerGlide. I dont think that either one of those are used any longer. I havnt followed racing for a long time and believe me, things have changed.

  • 4 time NHRA National Champ. J/S, K/S plus the auto classes s well. 57 Chevy wagon 150 ( WagonMaster) factory fuel injected 283, 4 speed.

Trust me, I COULD show you how to shift

  • @Phoenixmike100 what tranny was in your 57?

  • as a racing enthusiast i understand why your et will never be what you wish it to be ha

  • @diatoneic heading to the track next week, ill be happy with a low eleven on street tires

  • Bad. Ass.

  • @1355550 thank. you.

  • one more, How long have you had your 68 Chevelle? If you sell you sell it for $10,000 or more then i will drive to you.... but i live in West Jordan, Ut. But keep it for just 3 years intill i am 17 then i will buy it ';)

  • Are you really putting a big block in it??? what one 454 or the ls6?

  • @Afroman1229 it is already a big block, 427 which is the 454 bore(4.25 .30) and 396 stroke

  • i do not know much about the chevelle but what is a valvetrain. and can you supercharge a 70 chevelle??

  • was it easy to build, and what new stuff did you put in it? I love the 70 Chevelle Super Sport, 454, 396, or if possible a ls6 but i am only 14 years old, that is my dream car!!!

  • @Afroman1229 its been years in the making. The motor is actually out of the car right now, were doing new valvetrain.

  • 427 pure chevy power.

  • A+ intro

  • listen to that rat eatin...:-)...killer vid....

  • how much doe did you put in it?$?$?$?$?$?$?

  • @Afroman1229 to much

  • make a video of you street raceing have you street raced it yet and 540merlin did you say you had oil problemes check all off your seals on motors

  • How bad is it driving that spool around turns on the street???

  • @hugoortiz05 well you cant turn tight at all or youll risk snapping an axel. you can feel the inside tire spinning around corners to. as long as you take it easy with the turns its alright.

  • I love it but I have a hard time believe the 625+hp rating, especially on a stock m21. Good transmission yes, durable to that point no.

  • @Boredout454 it is the original m21 but the internals have been updated

  • HAA Haa @1:00... Where'd he go???

  • Nice car, will pass everything but the gas station, LOL

  • god ole mighty, nothin like a 4 speed with 4:88's.!!! I sure miss those gears! my dad had them with a 4 speed in his 56 Chevy as well! Chevelle sounds wicked too!!

  • Lovin them big block four speeds. To the double clutching fan, WHY????? It just slows your shift!

  • Stop granny shiftin' and start double clutchin' like you sposta'!

  • @ottowaton no need to double clutch a m21?

  • @427ImportEater Thats not what vin desiel told me.

  • @ottowaton vin disiel is a legit queer

  • That wasn't power shifting...When powershifting, you never lift your foot off the accelerator. And you sure didn't do it for long with an M-21 without a chase car... to pick up the scattered Muncie pieces off the road.

  • @mocharger06 please,do explain. a frend of mine has a '68 chvelle with a L-88 427 out of a corvette that he built over 12 years. made it a steath build with factory intake, heads+mild port work and bigger valves,800cfm holley, custom crane grind(L-88 remake with bigger lift and more duration powerband 4200-7800) 12:1 compression and it made 720HP. he started out using the M21 would power shift it. lasted a good while @ 8000rpm shifts. then he went to the super T-10.pumpgas also.

  • @hotrods100 Even GM knew of the inherent durability issues of the M-21. The stronger design was the M-22, also known as the "Rock Crusher". It had straight gut gears, for strength, instead of the helical cut gears.

  • @hotrods100 Even GM knew of the inherent durability issues of the M-21. The stronger design was the M-22, also known as the "Rock Crusher". It had straight gut gears, for strength, instead of the helical cut gears. I had my New Process Chrysler 4-speed "crashboxed"; every other tooth is removed from the synchros and locking rings. The clutch was only used for launching, then you actually powershifted, shifting gears without lifting on the accelerator.

  • Nice Chevelle, but I didn't see ANY "Powershifting". Bang those gears......

  • @novaracer1963 the 3/4 linkage is bent and is being replaced

  • @mckinley33 its in liters but its still cheap.

  • @1:49.... man i miss the dayz wen gas was cheap.. dang.. did u c how many gallons he got with 20.00 dollars

  • Excellent, true dream car great job.

  • This thing is crying for lower numerical gears. This thing is set up for the dragstrip but you can only have so much fun with that setup. I imagine the top speed is less than 120 mph - and even at that you're turning 7000 rpm. That thing can pull low-mid 3's final drive gears with ease and still have great low end. Install a Gear Vendors overdrive for true 8-speed action!

  • @beeroosterm actually, at the 7000 rev limiter we did 121 mph. And a TKO 600 is in the works with possibly a 4.56 gear..

  • @427ImportEater I was looking over a channel by the name of Merlin540. He's posted a number of videos with a 930 hp big block '69 Camaro using a Tremec TKO 600. He loves the tranny and is using 3.55 gears for a 175 mph+ top speed (made a video of a run at that speed). Perhaps you've seen his videos; he is a sick man...

  • @beeroosterm you bet ive seen his videos!! his cars are some of the baddest on here!!

  • @427ImportEater It certainly seems that way. Funny how the sickness spreads...

  • Really nice set up! Gotta love the 4:88's. That looks like fun to the 5th power!!!

Now if they only made a good over drive 7 speed manual trans.....

  • Ahhh! A blue rice bowl. Lunch!

    Rice, It's what's for dinner!

Like how you threw in the gas pump scenes.

My big block passes just about everything but a gas pump.

  • @dutchboy25al same with this big block haha!

  • Ahhh! A blue rice bowl. Lunch!

  • thank you for the clip at the end cause it REALLY showed how gorgeous that fuckin car really is,, and thats real HP.... i love the name too by the way,,, i hate the kids,,,, and some guys, who think that K&N air filters ADD 15 horsepower to a car lol,,,, you know what adds 15actual HP,, take a 5.0 mustang, and put an actual Edelbrock Rpm, Intake manifold between the cyl heads that costs $500 and takes a half a day to install on your car,, that ADDS 15hp. not an air filter! SWEET FUCKIN CHEVELLE

  • @IRONSEAN7 thank you!

  • @IRONSEAN7

I have a nitrous bottle you can install in about 15 minutes....Advertised at 300 hp....250 is what it really adds.

  • a powershift is shifting while holding it flat to the boards with no clutch at all. watch how to powershift a hemi for instructions.

  • Jesus that's nice lmao. Hahahahaha that Impreza lmao! It's like a little girl compared to bodybuilder hahaha

  • YEAH pump gas..lol

  • Richmond is what we use. With a hurst or Long shifter. Their very well built trannys. We use them in Drag Racing. IV broken 4 Muncies in 3 years..

  • @427ImportEater . EVery try a hurst shifter or LONG shifter?? that will fix your problem. The Muncie Shifter is garbage for racing.

  • @acemaster1001 were looking into a G-Force 4 speed, which runs a Long Shifter

  • nice i got a 68 chevelle with a 462 their fun

  • @poo1771 is a 462 a 454 bored like .40? Ive never heard of it

  • @427ImportEater its a 454 bored 30 over

  • keep the gas pedal to the floor and just hit the clutch as fast as you can thats a powershift under power

what your doing in this video is speedshifting a bit different

  • keep the gas pedal to the floor

  • Nice car & lots of power. On another note, I have an 81' Malibu, 468 BBC w/BW-ST10 trans, 9" w/4.11's, side step at 7200 rpm's, shift at 7500rpm's & have yet to blow anything. Hurst V-Gate sure helps to prevent mis-shifts as well. You are not going to hurt the trans on the street with that kinda power. Tires break loose way before there's any stress on it. Drive it like ya stole it & have fun!!

  • @motleyphuckincrue the only problem is that the car WONT shift to hard with the stock m21 stock linkage and 6 year old clutch

  • @motleyphuckincrue

I've got 2 Muncies that didn't hear you say that they couldn't be hurt on the street.

  • Super bad ass!!!

  • yo dude, that clutch is beat!!any fool can hear that.you live anywhere near jersey?put a clutch in it,and come to jersey.i'd like to spank that 68 with my 69!!lol...nice ride bro...

  • @bluesting192 seeing as that you drive an escort, you probably dont know how hard it is to shift a m21 with 625 horses. It isnt easy trying to powershift 43 year old technology, especially with double the power it was designed to handle. sorry if this was not up the your shifting standards

  • this car mean com on but wheres 3rd and 4th gear?

  • i only find it impresive because it moves a pretty heavy chassis.

  • Lol he had to be wearing Mandals.

  • dose powershifting wear out your clutch faster or anything like that? by the way very cool chevelle.

  • @jingq2 If your constantly doing it then it would, just because you shift without taking your foot of the floor. You can damage the motor or the tranny easier than the clutch though.

  • @427ImportEater nice ride, i have a 68 non ss model but threw a 390 (bored 40.) block thats producing 400 horsey's and i got a t5 borg warner 5 speed behind it... and still id want this motor just because of the sound! i have been contemplating a 4 speed muncie though

  • @NiqHowie Ive never driven a t-10, but im guessing the main difference would be the strength. A rebuilt muncie should be pretty strong for a factory tranny. Ours is holding up over 600 horses, without signs of trouble

  • how much does it weigh

  • @enjoisk8r7767 3750 lbs

  • wheres this from looks like Ontario??

  • @BaDoNkAdOnK16 yes ontario!

  • ha ha that Impreza didn't have a chance

  • @qwertyboy1234567899 and we didnt even get on it!

  • Real nice. My uncle has a 1968 as well with the exact same setup. Its green with racing stripes down the middle. Real sweett. How quick is it??

  • @monabang We ran 11.61 @121 mph spinning pretty bad. With traction the car is capable of a 10.90.

  • why such low gearing??? a set of 3.5s in the ass would be much nicer on the street, mean as fuck car but, nice shifting too!!!

  • @XCSEDAN We put the 4:88 gear and the spool in for the track, even though we rarely run it there. Check out the new vid to see us make a little pass..

  • @427ImportEater sweet as man will check it out now!

  • ontario street car association where ya from??

  • @orangemustang ontario:)

  • @427ImportEater sigh fair enough.... london here

  • Nothing personal, I don't like 68 Chevelles. But I love this car! That is the finest sounding engine on YT. And I love this video. How did you do the Import eater intro? I'd love something like that for my videos!

What do you do for your PCV system? I have trouble with my two 700+hp 540's spewing oil out the PCV. Obviously you have something going on their.

    Post some more vids!

  • @540merlin To make the intro, i used a program called blender. It should be easy to find the template and the program on the internet. And about the PCV system, we run a custom system. Because we have no vacuum, we run a braided hose from the valve cover to an overlflow can on each side of the rad. At the end of this video you can see the braided hoses that come out of the valve covers and lead to the overflow cans. Hope this helps!!

  • Nothing like Old GM Muscle Cars!

    Very Nice Chevelle.

  • @GerryK61 Thank you for the kind words!
