  • shame weiland couldnt hold it together....stp could have been a long running band.

  • the song was on gta sa tracks becausew the time in the game was in the same period as this song was in the charts but that doesn t matter gta doesn t have anything to do with this song this song is a big grunge hit

  • Beautiful grunge anthem...........

  • MY Ladyputs on make up and lace and I put on Thc and Meth, and she feels it ^

  • I remember back in the 90's I heard this song so many times on the radio that I almost hated it. Around 2004 they stopped playing it entirely and I was like "I really want to hear Plush"

  • So that's where my roots for Grunge started... Fuck yeah.

  • the rock song of that year

  • no one knows what the FUCK GTA is, GRUNGE 4 LIFE

  • A 10+ minute ad? WTF?

  • This was in san andreas too??? fuck i gotta play that game

  • sister, i promise i wouldnt have ever left you alone, this is you in the video, litterally, im so sorry gwendolyn, the world of evil has always been agianst us, sister, im still walking tall.

  • good grunge

  • Why the fuck was i growing up in the 90's, i remember these songs but wasnt old enough to appreciate them until now when im in my 20's, the 90's grunge/sludge sound was the best for sure.

  • GTA SA.

  • How about this one..

    STP > GTA

  • those top comments are stupid XD

  • @rickklarenberg: Agreed we run them over with a car like in GTA. JK ;)

  • @rickklarenberg i miss when music was awesome!

  • This song will never die.

  • Just the 90's generation understand this! Good old times

  • @TheHotroad23 yes i was there, born in '88 so i grew up with a love for both the 80s and 90s

  • why is scott so skinny now makes me feel sad about the difference

  • @limit25

Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

  • Amazing song. Gotta learn it now haha.

  • Radio X

  • :) yeah :) thats whats up :)

  • I've always wondered what the meaning of this song was. Is wikipedia right?

  • que buena música hace stp!

  • pearl jam doesnt blow.. its just as good as stp, soundgarden or nirvana.. love the 90s and grunge will always live.

  • if you play this and the acoustic version it sounds terrible cuz they are tuned differently hahah :D

    great song though

  • grandiosi ... questa canzone e' stata la colonna sonora di tanti momenti .

  • OK enouigh of this Pearl Jam STP war they're both good in their own way and yes I know I may get knocked cause of my user name but I listen to everything

  • Pearl jam blows, stp is where its at

  • Music of my youth

  • This, Interstate Love Song, and Sour Girl are my favorite Stone Temple Pilots songs. And in my opinion, this, Interstate Love Song, and Sour Girl are their best songs. Each have a different tone that just strike me as genius, and Weiland is a vocal artist that is simply amazing. And to think, I once disliked this group, only because I never listened to them. STP made a believer out of me.

  • GTA: SA made me listen to STP.

  • much prefer him singing with this band than velvet revolver, such a distinctive sound

  • this video was shot at the ridgectest motel in federal way washington suburb of seattle i was managing said motel when asked if they could shoot a video there i thought it might be good for biz met a b.sed with the band they had just been touring with megadeath.

  • This song made me a STP fan and ever since then, ive loved all of their music. amazing band

  • Bought this on a cass~single tap, listened to it every night on my mono~stereo cassette player and was nearly mortified when it stretched and warped in a car stereo............

But when I heard it for the first time on 5:1 dolby surround stereo stereo, I went weak at the knees and nearly wet my self..........

This song I will still be listening to when I am 100.....

It's the voice! The sounds and tones and vibrations..mmmmmmmmmmmm!

  • God loves you, and whoever believes that Jesus Christ the Son of God died for their sins, was buried and rose again will have eternal life in Heaven. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved,” - Acts 16:31

  • @JesusPaid4You Random! Random post to this thread....?

  • @JesusPaid4You Yes, he loves us, but he cannot save us from our failures. We save or condemn ourselves--write the fate of our next lifetime--by our actions, which accumulate into our karmic destiny.

  • first time i heard this song i thought it was pearl jam

  • been an STP fan since core! thumbs up if your an 80's baby!

  • Other than deep voices, not alot musically im common with Pearl Jam. Id say STP had more in common with AIC. But tbh, STP did more consistent albums than both artists, so fuck them.

  • WOW lo hace igual que eddie vedder canta igual, hace los mismos movimientos con el microfono y se parece un poco

  • It is better to discover STP playing GTA than watching MTV.

  • at the risk of gettin torn a new asshole by some grunge dogmatist.... i often confuse these dudes with alice in chains

  • @honkyxadonis you8 fuckin bastard how could you lol who did cumbersome stp or seven mary three

  • @leuma5am see i don't know, i am not big into either band but at a glance they are pretty similar, i like pearl jam as well, but if i knew as little about PJ as i do about those 2 then i would confuse all 3 of them...........creepy singer, morose songs

  • ainda ecoa nas pedras o som, deles e unico o que eles fizeram talves nunca seja superado stp e essas outras bandas de 90.

  • Omg, I remember when this video came out. ROcked my world! Alternative Nation on MTV was playing it and I stopped what I was doing and just stood there amazed and my brain was totally rocked out. Started jamming in my room and scraped my pennies together afterwards to get the cassette the next day.

    Dm

  • anthem of my life .....oops

  • calm down guys STP are actually a good band that sounds like Pearl Jam unlike Creed

  • A love for decent music brought me here.

  • la voz de eddie vedder es cas igual qe Scott Weiland

  • I like both STP and PJ. Just chill the fuck out dudes.

  • back when bands were good live.

  • So to anyone who wants to compare STp to Pearl Jam: Different cities, different sounds. Pearl Jam was spawned from mother love bone which found its way from Green River which found its way from Heart. So, why don't you just all shut the f--- up, enjoy some dreamboat annie and those that followed and quit talking like you know a goddamn thing about music.

  • Perfect ♥

  • I just love that I've been raised on grunge/metal/punk.....It has made my life so much more awesome :D

  • @lazorman8 fuck yeah !

  • awsome always music to motavate yourself to get up and do shit everyday ! i listion every morning .

  • Can't believe I thought this was PJ when I played GTA SA

  • great tune anyone know what the bands name is supposed to mean

  • @tlucius7513 Wiki'd it just for you brah- (from Wikipedia): "Scott Weiland said on The Howard Stern Show that the band's name was inspired by a carving in an ancient temple that depicts a man in a small flying ship, a reference to ancient aliens."

  • Comment removed

  • @tlucius7513 If you get a stupid comment from me... plz dis reguard..

  • GTA San Andreas brought me here

  • @TurklerYutubeDa GTA:SA > GTA 4. Period.

  • @TurklerYutubeDa The first thing i do is jack a bike and turn the radio to Radio X.

  • Man,time passes by and I get to love more ths band eventhouhg I am 80's music lover...

  • excelente!

  • Shit, I was born in the wrong generation! I have 15 years U.U

  • I Effing love the 90's

  • I always end up listening to this song after having some herb.

  • yaa just like christmas morning ..... sing it scotty

  • @tumblingplanet This song is still pretty fantastic though.

  • AHHHHHH IM A TEENAGER AGAIN

  • People aren't dumb for saying they thought this was Peal Jam. I remember when I was a kid even people were saying that, and you know it's kinda true. The record companies chose similar sounding bands, packaged it as "grunge" and we ate it up.

  • fantastic!!!!!

  • To everyone saying STP copied Pearl Jam, STP was formed in 86 and Pearl Jam was formed in 90 after Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone OD. So learn your history of music before you make an ass of yourself. I love all those late 80s/90s grunge bands.

  • @tigers3321 Good comment, i dont really think STP copied any other band... the comparisons were just because of the whole 90´s "alternative rock scene" both bands are great in their own rigth, and its just amazing that theyre still going and can get new young fans and influence people to make rock music that is worthy of listening.

  • @tigers3321

you can only claim that in retrospect if you came to the music decades after it was happening...if you were there when it was happening, you dont give a shit about things like who came first

  • @tigers3321 yeah but who takes pearl jam serious fatchicks and dudes who date fatchicks

  • @tigers3321 To be fair, Ten was released before Core.

  • @tigers3321 muse is better anyway

  • @tigers3321 yeah, but STP didn't have any real mainstream success until they released the "Core" album, a whopping six years after they formed and a year after Pearl Jam released "Ten" and Nirvana released "Nevermind".

Does that make them awful? I don't think so, they just wanted to be along for the grunge explosion, as a result, the "Core" album peaked in the Billboard charts. But when I hear this song on the radio I constantly mistake it for Pearl Jam, obviously, one asks why the song does.

  • @Volts48 and the answer is, well, their album was joining along with the grunge theme. But unlike a majority of those other grunge bands that were coming out around the time, these guys weren't stationed in Seattle.

But to fair, at least Stone Temple Pilots isn't Creed or a lot of those other pale imitators that started coming around post-grunge. They're not the first band that comes to my mind when I think of grunge but I have nothing against them either.

  • i agree dlefik. The new rock has no punch and the bands have no staying power. this music really did shatter the mold of progressive, metal, and hairband music that dominated. Too bad they burned out on drugs and not music.

  • damn good song and video. no matter how many times music changes nowadays, the feeling will never be the same as when music like this hit the airwaves.

  • looks like pearl jam

  • @NolikargAven first time i thought was pearl jam

  • @TheIgnacio10 ur stupid...how old r u?.... bigmac's momma..STP rocks!!!

  • I've been raped by the sign in sign up police.STP=GR8

  • This is a song called PLUSH!!!!

  • omg everytime i hear this song and i cant see where its coming from i think who is playing gta san andreas :D gta and stone temple pilots 4 ever

  • the guy in the video looks Ihsahn from Emperor.

  • yeah CJ!

  • My favorite STP song.

  • Tell me who was the first singer who start sing in a manner like he sings.

  • a melhor musica do mundo

  • Comment removed

  • enjoy the music. love it. never gets old

  • Accused by many critics of being nothing more than rip-off artists, pilfering from Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, the band nevertheless became major stars in 1993. And the influences of those bands are apparent in their music, but Stone Temple Pilots do manage to change things around a bit.

  • I forgot how much I LOVWE this song...takes u back and jams like a mofo

  • They totally climbed aboard the grunge bandwagon. As Beavis and Butthead pointed out, this is blatant Pearl Jam ripoff.

  • @TheChirpingAssholes- how is this grunge? N Sorry Every band Ive heard has a different tune to it. so stop your whining

  • @TheChirpingAssholes Some people make a genre popular others explore and expand the genre they are already in. STP was the latter, Nirvana and PJ were the former. Either way it's whatever you like. Myself, personally, I liked Core ALOT but I also liked the progression of the music that STP had through their next couple albums.

In the end all music is a copy in someway from someone else. That's just how it goes.

  • Radio X !

  • All the comments about where people heard this song the first time....why is that so important? As long as people know this song and know this awesome band then it's not important where people first heard it.

  • @antoisspence Amen

  • @antoisspence I remember when I first heard this song. I was in the desert up north, taking flying lessons in Las Venturas

  • a 104 retrasados no les gusta

  • people thought that they copy pearl jam they do sound like em a little but i think theyre still amazing just really started listening to em yesterday :)

  • @thetroller121 better late than never :)

  • Makes me miss listening to KROQ on the radio when i was a teen. Tons of great music and we knew it was good then, too...heh

  • Unlike the younger people on here, I found out about this song when I was at a local coffee shop for Open Mike and the people who went up played a few songs...this was one. I was captivated.

  • @ShiningLily3 I still have my cassette of this album when it was first out :)

  • Scary

  • It's just the hipster mentality that is popular. No one really cares about how you learned it they just want that "cool" feeling by liking it in a "superior" way. Same thing as everyone hating on something that is popular like a band going main stream (different from selling out and changing their style for money) or hating someone like Beiber even if you haven't ever listened just because it is the common scapegoat of hate. It is all just what people do. Great song, thanks for sharing.

  • @Judg3m3nt Haha... I've listened to Bieber and i don't like it..

  • @hybridtheory3 as have I but htere are thousands who hate him without having heard a single line because or peer pressure and a need to be trendy by hating on something mutually.

  • Gta SA song XD

  • Fuckin' great song!

  • Seriously i know the justin bieber joke about the dislike bar is old but... DANM this dislike bar is really close to justin dick !

  • Seriously, THIS SONG: GREAT. YOU PEOPLE: PATHETIC

  • I know you came here cause you just found out the song list of GTA SA radios :D

  • sit back and enjoy all the bands before us, the present ones, and the ones who will survive the bieber onslaught. cause one thing is certain one day you will hear the beatles, stone temple pilots, and theory of a dead man on the same radio station or whatever tech will replace it when that time comes.

  • i agree. music is passed down and there is a reason why it will always live for ever. i grew up with this type of music but before i found it i listen to what my mother listened to which was classic rock. and when i listen to the 90's rock i grew up on played along side the music my moms listened to on the same radio stations, its proof that its an endless cycle. 90s music is slowly turning into a new genertion of the classics and one day it'll be your kids with the new generation. so just chill

  • This sounds a bit like a Pearl Jam rip-off

  • @TheEluveit thats what everyone thought when core was released(their first album) everyone was like: oh their just riding on the succes that nirvana and PJ had, but once their second album(purple) was released everyone came to realise that PJ is also an excellent band.

  • @rickklarenberg You meant to say STP is also an excellent band in that last sentence right?? :DD

  • @TheEluveit yeah XD

  • bass = sick

  • best song ever
