Does that make them awful? I don't think so, they just wanted to be along for the grunge explosion, as a result, the "Core" album peaked in the Billboard charts. But when I hear this song on the radio I constantly mistake it for Pearl Jam, obviously, one asks why the song does.

@Volts48 and the answer is, well, their album was joining along with the grunge theme. But unlike a majority of those other grunge bands that were coming out around the time, these guys weren't stationed in Seattle.

But to fair, at least Stone Temple Pilots isn't Creed or a lot of those other pale imitators that started coming around post-grunge. They're not the first band that comes to my mind when I think of grunge but I have nothing against them either.

Myself, personally, I liked Core ALOT but I also liked the progression of the music that STP had through their next couple albums.

In the end all music is a copy in someway from someone else. That's just how it goes.
