I want to make a bread pudding that dominates my brother's

  • oh my god!!! this is the very best video for bread pudding!!! i searched and searched yours should be the top in the search list the kitty in the beginning is priceless, thankyou im heading to the kitchen now :)

  • i add raisins and pineapples to mine and it is delicious

  • Looks Great! I have never heard of Vanilla Sugar. Is it easy to find? If you can't find it. What would you used to substitute??????????

  • @MamawCindy i found mine easily at a place called the bulk barn here in canada which sells bulk baking goods. i have also seen it in small packets in the baking section at every grocery store, even the discount ones. alternately, some make their own vanilla sugar by immersing a vanilla pod into a small container of superfine white sugar. (you can pulse regular white sugar in a blender to make superfine.) however, nothing is ruined if the vanilla sugar is substituted with regular white sugar.

  • looks great...........great you won't be able to eat it until 3am in the morning... but then u could serve it for breakfast :-) Thanks for sharing..

  • THis is the best recipe i've seen so far and i can't wait to try it. I noticed you didn't mix the sugar and egg in your milk and butter mixture. Is there a reason?

  • Looks yummy. : )

  • @MarkandMom It was all gone by next day! :) I gave the second one to my Mom. She's not much of a dessert maker. She gives me casseroles, she's more of a supper maker. Apperently my Dad's been eating a lot of my desserts before she gets a chance to taste them, ha ha.

  • I've never heard of bread pudding! Looks delicious!

  • @JeffN727 It's the original "poor man's pudding." :) I've also posted the French-Canadian version, called "Pouding Chômeur" - chômeur pretty much means unemployed. Bread pudding was a way to utilize stale bread, so to waste nothing.

  • HA HA Kitty squished all the bread! MMMM I want some with my tea right now! Yours are my favorite cooking shows of all, Jen! The music works well with the visuals. Just perfect!

  • @sideshowtink Thanks for your kind words...I'm so glad you enjoy them, and, the music. The kitties say hello! :)
