Yes, in Matthew 7:1 it says "Do not judge, or you too will be judged", but you have to read on (mainly 7:2-5). Jesus meant that you can't judge someone of a sin that you are also guilty of committing. True Christians care because salvation is a heavy heavy thing. The first time I heard about Matt and his music was this past week at SxSW and I was floored! His voice is amazing and his lyrics are deep. I will be buying his albums. So far, my fav. song is Live Forever. Its just so sweet and relaxing =)
I dont think ive enjoyed seein' someone perform before as much as i do watching this vid. It seems so raw & u can really see & hear so much emotion behind it. Its a little fascinating 2 me, im glad i discovered his music before it gets tainted.

If I could play Devil's Advocate on the "tone deaf" argument, I think alot of people confuse the TONE of a singer with the ability to hit the correct notes.They use TONE DEAF when what they mean is they don't like the TIMBER of the voice. In this, Matt's voice goes into different registers and sometimes the emotion in his voice affects the pitch and sound of the note, so I can understand what the dude meant when he said it "goes in and out". However, he's anything but tone deaf.

Hey, I had the same problem (I'm in Ireland too). If you ask in whichever music shop you go to they might order it for you. That's what I did. If not you can most likely get in on itunes.
Bloodline is your family lineage (history). If you were related to Queen Elizabeth you could say you were in the same bloodline. What this is saying is this woman protected the heritage and family line of her son even though the man didn't hold up his end of the bargain.

Beautiful voice. Reading the lyrics...imo the song is about a girl living in a town and family of old ideals, she has children with a man who does not care about taking care of them. She is a single unwed mother, with the weight of her religion on her shoulders...

Hoenstly, this is a THOUSAND times better than the album version. He slowed the pace down, and it definitely feels like a song that was meant to be played acoustically.

The first time I heard about Matt and his music was this past week at SxSW and I was floored! His voice is amazing and his lyrics are deep. I will be buying his albums. So far, my fav. song is Live Forever. Its just so sweet and relaxing =)

And for the record, I love his voice and I think he knows how to use it perfectly to enhance the lyrics. He doesn't sing; he tells a story with song. But sometimes people just don't connect with a certain song or performer. The world keeps spinning...

If I could play Devil's Advocate on the "tone deaf" argument, I think alot of people confuse the TONE of a singer with the ability to hit the correct notes.They use TONE DEAF when what they mean is they don't like the TIMBER of the voice. In this, Matt's voice goes into different registers and sometimes the emotion in his voice affects the pitch and sound of the note, so I can understand what the dude meant when he said it "goes in and out". However, he's anything but tone deaf.

Hey, I had the same problem (I'm in Ireland too). If you ask in whichever music shop you go to they might order it for you. That's what I did. If not you can most likely get in on itunes.

Bloodline is your family lineage (history). If you were related to Queen Elizabeth you could say you were in the same bloodline. What this is saying is this woman protected the heritage and family line of her son even though the man didn't hold up his end of the bargain.

@Kaboom1848 I basically thought its about a religious girl w values that fell for the wrong guy and had a child by him. Not married she was shunned by christians but God still loves her. Then it goes over to the guys perspective on how he regrets denying his "bloodline" basically his child.

Beautiful voice. Reading the lyrics...imo the song is about a girl living in a town and family of old ideals, she has children with a man who does not care about taking care of them. She is a single unwed mother, with the weight of her religion on her shoulders...

Hoenstly, this is a THOUSAND times better than the album version. He slowed the pace down, and it definitely feels like a song that was meant to be played acoustically.
