I agree with ilovefridays999,Randy Hanson does a great job of emulating his hero.Of course there will never be another Hendrix and I don't believe Randy thinks he is another Hendrix. But for those of us that were never fortunate enough to actually see Hendrix play live,Randy, with his look, movements and tone both vocally and with his guitar can help us use our imaginations and imagine,if only a little bit, what seeing Hendrix live might have been like.He does a great tribute to Jimi, just enjoy it.
Mehr kann man mit der elektrischen Gitarre nicht machen. HENDRIX is not from this world.
je mehr man Hendrix hört desto mehr liebt man diesen Mann! ich höre seit 20 Jahren Hendrix und jeder Tag ohne Jimi ist ein verlorener Tag! JESUS OF GUITAR, MOHAMED OF WAH WAH!!
Jimi has a soul, and he put hiis feelings in playng, people today dont do it, just repeat thing they learnt , over and over. music is goin down fast .... we need to reunite as in 69. woodstock.... if i dont do that ill not die happy
Hendrix is the best I've ever heard, but it was funny how he downplayed both his genius and his own skill level, saying he'd seen many guitarists in dives better than him. I don't believe it, never did, but it's so cool how much he appreciated music, what other people wrote, how they played and sang and thought. He dug Cream, The Beatles, Dylan and the Stones. Clapton was one of the few guitarists Jimi really wanted Chas Chandler to introduce him to when he got to England.
@jmsbk12345 wow i see no thumbs.... wtf... im dumbfounded!..... Hendrix is the finest blues guitarist of all guitarists.... including SRV...... but there are new things coming... now imagine that!
@codehendrix I agree, Hendrix is the best blues guitarist ever, although we all know he was much more than just a blues guitarist. SRV is a very close number two on guitar, and probably my favorite blues singer.
@governorgilf howling wolf is my favourite singer.... its funny when people say SRV is better than Hendrix at blues because.... blues is about going deep.... SRV just mastered certain phrases... but he doesnt go as deep as hendrix.... Hendrix invents new phrases on the spot... he plays from his heart not his mind.... which is where music is really born....
@Turybegood There is nothing more LAME than Hendrix impersonators!! I have actually seen people paint their face black, where an afro wig, headband (of course), then proceed to make the most horrible noise you ever heard!!
I love to hear great players cover Jimi, but even the GREATEST of players fall waaay short... Jimi will ALWAYS BE THE BEST, because he was an original and simply played with more passion and soul than anyone ever has. (Anyone hear the dude say "Wes Montgomery" at the end?)
@jmsbk12345 As much as I would have to say Hendrix was one of the major influences in my musical life I would not say he was the finest perhaps one of the finest, there are to many incredible Blues players past and present. As far as electric Blues I am leaning heavily towards Stevie Ray.
Mind blowing version but I would like to listen to a soundboard recording. However, I like the comment from someone in the crowd when jimi plays some octave lines (at about 5:00) and the guy said: "Wes Montgomery".
This version is so liquid. I'm surprised the family didn't release it. Never heard about it not getting recorded since the first show was recorded professionally. Janie, stop keeping this sublime number imprisoned!
Sounds like red house with different lyrics to me.
