Tiny Tov had two little elf friends: Dee Dee and Scrunch.
12 years (grade and high school) of Catholic schooling, but we all watched the Magic Door on Sunday mornings. I remember asking my Irish mom why we didn't celebrate Hannukah- 8 more days of presents seemed like a pretty good deal to me.
Is this that "open, come open the magic door with me" show? The intro had some little guy in tights and an acorn next to a tree, or something like that. My memory is vague.
aroom zoom zoom aroom zoom zoom guilly guilly guilly guilly guilly az sa sa... come through the magic door with me... just say these words and wondrous things you'll see...
I remember this show from when I was a kid when absolutely nothing else was on on Sunday mornings. Man, this clips brings back the boring memories of this show. I can just hear Dan doing Homer's voice saying, "BORING!"
Also, I had no idea Dan Castellaneta was from Chicago... or was Jewish... or was on this show for that matter.
Regardless, this was one weird, creepy, boring show.
I hate to say it but you're right. This was one show that was totally out there and you watched it because there was nothing on Sunday mornings at 8am. 9 times out of 10 it put me right back to sleep.
@parkborchert Thanks for uploading this. I'm a Christian but used to love Magic door. And learned a lot. This shows how our society has changed so much. Imagine an openly religious program on a major network today.
Yes, Swon. His name was Tiny Tov played by actor Charles Gerber. He looked like a miniature elf. His house was the acorn and the entrance to it was "The Magic Door."
I was a scriptwriter for this show back in the early 80s. I am desperately trying to find a clip of the theme song. Would also like to see one of the shows for which I wrote a script.
This is such a part of my Chicago childhood.

I grew up in Chicago. This was the only kids show on Sundays. I watched it for years and my mother told me it was for Jewish kids but I did not care.

where did you find this clip, I think I actually remember this episode - do you have the theme music?

@VinBad007 and he rode on a feather... I distinctly remember he would take us to far away places while "surfing" on a feather. :)
