@amurph0 I think it's because there were two puppeteers- Jerry Nelson on the left and Richard Hunt on the right. Usually, you use your right hand to operate the puppet's head and left for the arm. But poor Jerry had to do the reverse, using his right hand for the arm and left for the head. Since you're so used to the other way around, I'm sure Jerry had a bit of a harder time getting used to that.

I thought it was funny when they got scared when the phone started ringing, but the left monster calmed down and told the right monster that it was just the phone ringing. When seeing this clip just now, I almost thought that a cute chick was calling them and asking them for a date. ;)
