Amtrak Northeast Regional 67 (Interesting consist)

I think the HHP-8 broke down-Amtrak has P42s stationed in Washington DC, New York, New Haven, and Boston for just such occurences when there are no electric engines to help out dead regionals.

Lol thanks. This was before that I knew they shut the power off. Now its very common on this train to have one because the power gets cut off for Construction in CT. But it was still nice to see the Mcdonalds car

Wonder why they put the P42s with the HHP-8.And on top of that, 2 P42s. And it's so mean that they tint the windows on the wrap-arounds. You can't see out. And McDonald's is a terrible restaurant when it comes to quality.

because it travels overnight and runs the entire part of the NEC from Boston to Newport News VA

But what's so special about it traveling overnight? If it travels overnight, you have viewliner cars. The need for checked baggage is the exact same on every other train running the route

Interesting, I couldn't tell whether the panto was up or down. Awhile back I caught a northbound regional being pulled by two P42s and a deadhead HHP-8.

Also recently a southbound regional out of BOS had two P42s instead of an electric and on that same day the westbound lake shore out of BOS had only 1 P42. I guess it was easier to send these guys back via the NEC rather than the B&A

Excellent catch! That's a lot of power for a rather short train. And whats up with trains and the advertising wraps. I've seen them on Washington Metrorail, NJT, MBTA, Metrolink and now Amtrak. 5 Stars!
