Thanks for actually playing some rhythm guitar on the demo. Nice to hear what the Suhr sounds like. Most demos are guys tapping and showing how fast they can play.
Nice amp. I am looking for that Dave Meniketti Y&T, early 70 MK2 Superlead sound, but I don't need such LOUDNESS, I trust you and wonder if you can recommend an amp, perhaps this one, that captures that. In a way it seems this does. Close enough probably..?..any others. I actually like the Koncord too, bt gosh so expensive..I plan to basically use for paractice and recording at a professional level. Also, along w/ the amp , the CAB..Greenbacks are probly best? Nice Dialed sound.THX fr share
Thanks for the Video and great tones. I'm a single channel amp/ pedals player and just received my Badger 30 last week. Great sounding amp! What type of vanneer, body wood, and pickups does your root beer Suhr tele have that you used on the T.C. Nova demo? Thanks!
Well I ain't Steve Vai or whatever... :) but I am a busy working guitarist. I play with Chris Cornell, Melissa Etheridge, Don Henley, etc. So I guess some folks think that means I know what's what with amps/guitars etc. You be the judge. I'm not the typical dude in band with record deal, but I'm busy doing "high profile" gigs. And I need quality versatile gear to cover all that ground. So I use Suhr gear. Cause it's awesome.
@sinasl1 Yeah dude I take that back, not based on this comment, but because this was the only video I had seen, but I now see that you're an amazing guitarist. I want one of these amps so badly lol.
@sinasl1 -- great infop, but one question,. How does it stand out on stage for stage sound? Is it loud enough for movement or do you have your sound goin thru your in ear monitors? Am I missing something?
@sinasl1 -- great infop, but one question,. How does it stand out on stage for stage sound? Is it loud enough for movement or do you have your sound goin thru your in ear monitors? Am I missing something?
@scottymaxxx We carry this amp in our store. There are a lot of artists using this live. Check out Guthrie Govan in the aristocrats. A 2x12 will help with the dispersion and get rid of some of the directional sound you get from a 1x12. This thing sounds great with a 4x12 though. I would recommend a good set of in ears even if you were using a 100 watt amp. I don't trust most venues monitor systems anymore, plus I like to control my own mix via the body pack. Besides it'll save your ears. Thanks
@sinasl1 -- great infop, but one question,. How does it stand out on stage for stage sound? Is it loud enough for movement or do you have your sound goin thru your in ear monitors? Am I missing something?
hi Pete, I'm looking at this video again and again (as well as other with you playiing), and I must say that you are a real inspiration when it comes to playing, tone and taste... (I mean it really).
I have the oportunity to buy either a badger 30 or a Od100 classic + in the next few days... I could do with either ways or using them (1 chanel with pedals or 2 channels in the studio as well as on stage), but when it comes to tone, what would be your choice?
At 3:46 to 4:12, 4:18, 6:37, 7:18 I am hearing some of the playing get really loud to the rest of the playing. Is the Suhr Badger 30 amp doing that? I don't like my volume running away that much. I do not like that it only has 1 channel, I'd like to see a clean channel as well as a distortion channel. It doesn't seem to produce a lot of distortion like I'd use when playing Van Halen music... I do not want to use addition pedals for distortion from an amp that should already have it.
Excellent demo. I personally would of liked to see some Van Halen, but maybe that amp isn't really a Van Halen amp and that is why you didn't go there. I loved that slow picking instrumental at 8:01 , awesome... did you write that? Very creative and sounds great.
I have the Badger 30. Mine does not vary in volume by it self. I use pedals on a clean setting with this amp, maybe not the best because the lower gain i have the less bass you get and gets thin. I have tried other preamps (JMP-1 directly in the effects return and the guitar directly into the JMP-1, there it has plenty of bass. I suggest you check out the Suhr PT-100! 3 channel. GREAT clean channel! Great distortion channel, like a blend of JCM800 and Peavey 5150, HIGH gain!
@xxxthedaytonxxx - Yeah, I think so as well. YouTube did that to some of my older videos. They should be making these demo videos in HD (High Definition).
For an amature independent camcorder recorded (not doctored) clip of the Badger 30....see my clips. One with PRS McCarty and the other with a hollowbody electric that has Fralin Unbuckers.

just wandering.. there's only a single channel version? and how much does the 18 watt model costs?

Yes, both the 187 and the 30 are single channel models. The 18 is around $1700-1800 I think
