What's even better is that his voice is very consistent. If he has ever had a bad show, I am pretty sure it's very rare. Out of all the bands that I have heard live, I can only count on one hand and it's not many where the vocals never wear down.

there are professional singers that are just like that and that is where he falls into is a professional singer. Not just some metal band where the voice is never consistent and wears down after 3 songs. Stipe is very professional

Losing one's religion is surely an overwhelming experience.

Thirty years ago there was a couple who were regular church-goers with their three young boys.

Their middle child got cancer at 6 and died the following year. The parents (and our entire rural community) prayed actively for little Eric, apparently to no avail.

The parents were rarely seen in church again.

The tragedy did indeed bring us all "to our knees, failed."

It's a powerful song about a very powerful concept.
