Manba and Yamanba both came from the Ganguro style; however Manba and Yamanba are not to be confused. Yamanba has white make-up only above the eye, while Manba has makeup below the eye as well. What you've done is more of a Manba. You are correct saying Yamanba died down, but it has been making its comeback quickly.

It doesn't look good at all. You've got the main idea but the way you have done your makeup is not good and not manba. I recommend to familiarize yourself with the manba style better and then try again. I'm sorry if I sound mean but I'm sure you could do better. And I know my English sucks. Sorry.

The style now has much thicker white makeup, brighter and more varied colored eyeshadow, light to extreme panda makeup, colored eyelashes. Clothing ranges from neon clubwear to sweat suits, but no longer includes the hawaiian accessories or huge amounts of stickers under the eyes. Yamamba- or in translation "Mountain hag" are the the scariest,

this is more Ganguro than Ymamba because Yamabas are messy and dont look attractive, the only Yamamba motives are the white paint on your nose and lips

Ganguro - in translation black face girls are more extreme and they not only bleach their hair they add more darker foundation, theit eye shadow is dramatic but they don't paint their noses.

Manbas- A shortened name for the original 90's style of Yamanba. Has undergone yet another change since 2004.

Manba has evolved since 2004, when it featured a lot of Hawaiian prints, leis, face stickers and pastel-colored hair.

I don't know, I've always been one for extremes (I used to want to do this when it was slightly more popular)... But now I really like the gyaru and Lolita scene. I'm not a manba, but for someone who admires the style It's refreshing to see a really great manba tutorial by someone who's experienced. I see so many girls applying their foundation all blotchy. (Can you explain to me how to to avoid this? Yours looks great.) The only feedback I can offer is that the black part is rarely winged out and angled upward that much among yamanbas, I thought it looked a little drag-ish. ^^ But still, five stars!
