The last scene where Galactica is flying over the moon with Earth in the foreground was the coolest looking scene in the series. I wish they had ended the show at that point, and leave the question of "What happens next?" to the viewers imagination.
You know, if you follow around Ronald D. Moore while he's reading then you might catch a glimpse of Virtual Six and Virtual Baltar talking about the future and God's plan. He doesn't like that name.
God created man...Man created the Cylon... The Cylon rebelled... Man escaped the Cylon and found a new Earth. 150,000 years later Man created Skynet...Skynet created the Terminators...Skynet and the Terminators rebel...
This has happened before and will happen again....
I liked Galactica too. I thought the ending was a great way to send off the series. At least the ship wasn't turned into razor blades like real life ships are when they reach the end of their lives.
Straight into the sun, not with a whimper but with a bang. An end befitting a warship.
Somehow even if the "Galactica race" were capable of scrapping Galactica, I don't think they would do that to her, not with an outstanding record that she has racked up in the last 50 years. They would have still given her the Viking death ceremony.
1 Cylon dislikes this.

I wonder what the fans of the original lame 70s series thinks of this?

I love the scene at 2:17 how the gravity well of the black hole was like a slingshot to the hull of the ship after the jump.
