With the lost of Whitney Houston R I P comes the out pouring of love, affection, honors, which are well derseved! So I say to the "TRUE" fans of Ms Summer lets celebrate her NOW by buying her records(when she puts out new cds) going to her concerts etc.Lets not take her for granted. So what she's not young anymore, and she doesn't have that gorgeous "figure that gave us "FEVER" so what. But ONE thing she STILL has is that INCREDIBLE VOICE!
Rumor was she masturbated during the recording ? Really ? I think she pry had one of her lucky German guys go downtown with her in the studio & what went down was --- Captain MunchMan eatin lots of Sweet Brown Sugar. Donna was an estrogen factory on 2 wheels, good God !
@willmorrisusa Donna Summer was fine back then. I don't know how German guys felt about rug munching back then. With all due respect, Black women kick mad flavor ... literally. Grooming was a lot more casual back in the '70s. That saved a lot of flavor.
35 years later and this song is one of the benchmarks of what makes excellent music. donna you are ageless, timeless, classic and eternal. thank you for bursting into our consciousness with this sexy piece of music-making; i'll forever be a fan.
This has to be the best naughty song of all times, bar none! And the unique flavor of the '70s music only add to that naughtiness! Not only that, but 17 minutes of it, too! It's all the more impressive! WOW!
Damaris del Carmen Gonzalez...WEEB!! Haven't seen you in decades, but it seems like yesterday when we were dancing our buns off at Giovonni's in Champaign, Illinois.
The right musical hook, at the right time, by the best team of Summer/Moroder/Belotte. Although all generations appreciate this, for those of us who were livin' & lovin' in 70;s really dig what this was all about. Some radio stations in 76 actually banned this song, as it was too"racy". How innocent this sounds now. Still, somebody had to break the sex ceiling. Thankfully, it was done by this fine singer.
@Holz4xa i noticed that too & thought "what?", that maybe it was a remake of an older song, like a lot of those disco tunes were.. it's actually the utube user's name, who made this video
my Mom used to let me plyt this at house shakin volume 30watts x 2 today, like 400 watts back in the day when thd was 0.05%, not 0.5% THD. 2 years she is gone, never forgotten, Miami days and Miami nights.
@tstana still amazed the same Giorgio kind of like me when I hear the 1975 old truckin song Convoy hard to believe all musical pieces of C.W. McCall are the same dude who would start Manhiem Steamroller. Chip Davis Lol!
Donna Summer was my number 1 (numero uno) disco queen. Her music still trembles my extremities. Can't exchange with today's. This is magic and electric. Wow and million wows. Wish we can go back to the 70's. The golden decade of energetic, sensational music. Very eternal.
Truly great on a high quality vintage stereo system, the only way you can really hear
ALL of what great music like this or any other kind of music has to offer is to invest in quality equipment. I have alot of stereo equipment both new and old, but songs like this REALLY come alive on my Marantz 2275 receiver played through my Advent 5003's or Yamaha NS500M's. It's great that we can all easily access cool music like the 17 minute version of Love to Love you Baby , but try it on a great stereo!
@scottbell440 This is a superb quality recording! What the listener hears is no better than the weakest link, which in most cases is the system. You are correct, and in my experience, there is nothing out there that's better sounding than 60's - early 80's stereo gear that "places" the artist in the room with you.
the 1st female erotic song i heard in my youth... her moans and groans woke all of my sleeping hormones up... and they aint been back to sleep since....
I don't think 1962 is the correct date on this, maybe 1972, but it came out after 1975 in Europe, we in America got it about 1976/77, per wikipedia......
Eurodisco at it's most erotic. And to think, Donna helped write the song & thought some other studio singer would sing it. It was never intended to be a long LP recording until Neil Bogart played the short/orginal studio cut at a party & everyone demanded more. Be sure to read Donna's autobio "Oridinary Girl" for the full story of the song, the promo, the sensation, the scandal & the success of "Love To Love You, Baby".
SOMEBODY GOT IT!!!!! MY MOM bought it. I 5 years old singing it until I didnt know it was wrong to pull out my **** in front of conmpany!!!!!! But DOnna Summer made me what I now know as um......... HORNY!!!!!!!
classic, remember listening every night on wilk in wilkes-barre. the dj would put this on and disappear. can only imagine what he was up to during this mood music.
I will never forget a guy got me up to dance on this and it was the long version. My sister and one of her best friends were laughing at me when I got back to the table. He wore me out dancing but I was young just not used working my hips so much....very seductive song! :D
You don't need a heater for your house, if it gets cold just play this, I guarantee the temperature in your house will raise at least 20 to 30 degrees!
You would need lots of character and have to have a very strong mind to not listen to the whole 17 min 4 sec!! Fantastic loved it!! Saved to playlists and is my now playing video!!
I was 15 when I first heard this song in 1980, I remember Hot Stuff and the whistle.

They say length doesn't matter, but Donna clearly doesn't agree with that: She groans a lot more with this 17 minute version than she does with the shorter ones.

When my friends & I first heard this in late '75/early 76 we knew we were listening to something special. In a way it seems to symbolize the 70's as a decade like no other, and despite its reputation as a time totally lacking style, the truth is the 70's had incredible style, musically and visually. Much of it was obscured, then by bad commercialism, and now, by apparently too picky amnesia.
@illmatic826 . I was 3 or 4 years old when this song came out, But I must say my it didn't stop playing it. I would sing it from time time. But the song is what it is. I liked it then and I like it 35 years later
This remind me when I was young in Europe, now we dance to it here in Asian with great pleasure. So nice to introduce this beautiful music to a new generation.
Theeeee sexiest song ever!!! And, as always, the long version of a song is superior to the radio version. Dam, I miss AOR.....long version of Miracles, and several other songs don't get played anymore :(
yes this is and always will be hot. u know she voud never to perform this song again because it has such strong sexual energy. They actually recorded it as a joke. she wasn't seriously trying to sing. she was laying on the floor while recording. Clubs like studio54 would put shit in the vents and everyone was high without knowing it. the 70's were a dream. take out the aids and drug overdoses and u got a lovely peridox.
@1977Playmate "Take out the aids and drug overdoses and u got a lovely peridox"? That's like saying "If you got rid of the barbed wire and the mud and the trenchfoot and the lice and the rats and the shellfire and the mustard gas and seeing your friends get shot to bloody pieces, World War I was actually really fun."
With the lost of Whitney Houston R I P comes the out pouring of love, affection, honors, which are well derseved! @illmatic826 . I was 3 or 4 years old when this song came out, But I must say my it didn't stop playing it. I would sing it from time time. But the song is what it is. I liked it then and I like it 35 years later

Theeeee sexiest song ever!!! And, as always, the long version of a song is superior to the radio version. Dam, I miss AOR.....long version of Miracles, and several other songs don't get played anymore :(

This version is available on the Casablanca Records Story [Box set]
as well as numberous other disco classics from the record labels artist of that era. The box set is definitely worth having.

yes this is and always will be hot. u know she voud never to perform this song again because it has such strong sexual energy.
