@fizzguts A steam engine does not necessarily have to burn petroleum derivatives. Most of them can run fine on anything from corn oil to hog fat. Unlike an internal combustion engine, they're not fuel-specific. If it burns, it turns.
what I responded to "at least it doesn't depend on oil industry to run around."
Repeating THIS SPECIFIC steam car is a Stanley Vanderbilt cup replica running a vaporizing burner. The burner will ONLY run on a specific range of petroleum fuels set by the boiling point and coking point . Kerosene is ideal, a petrol diesel mix is a reasonable substitute. It is possible to make burners to burn a wider range of fuels. The burner in THIS vehicle DOES NOT have that capability
If you want this specific Stanley model you'll have to have one built. Approx UK 120,000 pounds If you just want a steam car join one of the steam car clubs they come up for sale most months
Nice, I want to see more!

It burns kerosene or a diesel petrol mix. Sigh the ignorance of the general population keeps me astonished

@fizzguts Point taken. I shouldn't have had the same expectations for a Stanley Steamer that I'd have for a modern steam engine.

@Threetails If you are interested Jay Lenos garage has a lot of video on his Vanderbuilt Stanley and his Doble.
Modern steam try Cyclone power They have used orange oil but the fuel has to be with in a range for "pumpability" and flash point.

@Threetails LOL Goes for any steam engine, It may not be BUILT for it but if it'll heat it up some way as you said, If it burns it turns.

Jay Leno's garage has a video of his Stanley Vanderbilt Cup Racer It's a twin of this one.
Single boiler mid mounted usually a 26"
30hp engine but some of the replicas (there's about 6 out there) run a piston valve Bryan engine
