Hey, I know you're usually working on your art at 3am, buuuut just in case you finish one of these puppies when the sun is up.... place the shirt out in the sun and it'll dry speedy quick. Thanx 4 the inspiration - I'm on it! I kinda hate to start it, cuz I know my 6yo girly'll be alllllll over THIS project! Gawd only knows what her wardrobe'll end up looking like... :o) But what cha gonna do??

  • Thats so cool i gotta make me a magic painting shirt.

    crissi xx

  • Yea, yea, yea! I hope you will make a video of your shirt when you have it completed!

Have you see the latest ones I have videoed? They came out really well.

  • What I love about you Deb, is that you take the time to learn these techniques and then to share them with others. Not only that you do it with humor and style. Keep up the great work, you are an asset to the art community :)

  • xoxoxoxoxox Have a fab weekend, sugar!

  • Oh look! Another heater! Hello, hater! xoxoxoxoxoxox

  • That's cool deb! I wanna make one!

  • Can't wait to see your shirt when you have it finished!!

  • I can make one and then send pictures of it

  • LOL - You swabbing/blobbing your brush on your shirt, SOOOOOOOOOO ME!

I'm thinking I need some more fairy dust on mine, the magic is wearing out!

Ah Deb, you had me in stitches too, your just so damn cute.

  • Thanks, toots! Glad you enjoyed my feeble attempts at some humor. I am trying to ingest more humor into my art videos since they are the least popular videos on my channel. There must be SOME way we can get people interested in our art videos, eh???

Your magic could never wear out, honey lamb. As talented as you are with watercolors...it's just not possible. :D

  • I remembered you saying Logan was in here, and had missed it the first time, as for some reason, when watching videos lately, they all stop and start and stop forever, etc. now that my computer or "connection" is better I was able to watch it all the way through without clicking the damn arrow.! Yep, thats my boy! :) So informative Deb, Thanks for sharing. :)

  • Oh and P.S. I think the shirt you made me would have looked a whole lot better had you blacked out that old bag's face wearing it!

  • Old bag, hell! You are cute as all get out!

  • I have been having some video playing difficulties recently myself. I downloaded some Mac OS X updates recently and my computer has been fukaka since then. I remember you having problems with videos playing for some time now.

  • Wonderful, thank you

  • Thank you sweetie pie!

  • if i were to make a magic painting shirt

would it magically give me the ability to paint? also i only have a few old tins of

emulsion paint that i use on the house

would they be any use i have various colours

    blue,yellow,magnolia and other shades in

between what do you think should i give

    them a go? :o)

  • I would give it a go if I were you. I have no idea what might happen, but experimentation has made some fabulous things happen!

And absolutely...a Magic Painting Shirt WILL give you the ability to paint. Particularly if you make the shirt yourself! :D

  • ooooooooh I want one! great idea! I'm always messing up my good clothes while painting, I think I need magic pants too!

  • YAY Sherrie! I haven't seen you in sooooo long! Hope you will make and post a video of you in your magic painting shirt and pants!

  • Coool video.....PS... are these paints safe for children to use to?

  • I'm not sure about these acrylics and texture paints being safe for children. It doesn't say anything about that on the labels. There might be some info on the websites of the various paints?

  • good for you

  • Thank you, sweetheart!

  • my mom used to do stuff like that when i was a kid

    you are welcome

  • Hey Deb! Looks fun-tastic!! Sorry for not taking part in the Make me laugh contest II. Stupid work got in the way. Six days of making coffee for strangers on an automobile fair in Frankfurt... Maybe there's going to be another one?

    Cheers, Nadine

  • Nadine, that sounds like quite an adventure you had in Frankfurt. :D

Yes, there will be another laugh contest.

  • I think a magic shirt is what i need to hide all the stains from drinking coffee in the office

  • LOL You could probably start a new trend in your office or else get escorted from the building by security. :D

  • Oooooh, I want one. *runs off to look for shirt*

  • Hooray! I can't wait to see what you do with your shirt!!! xoxoxoxoxox

  • Hey deb!! Its Mandy,"REBSICAL'S" daughter!!! hows it going?? that is really cool i wanna learn hw to mke that!!

  • Mandykins! Well, sugar, I'm sure you guys are having a fun weekend. Celebrating your Dad's BD tomorrow?

So all the information that you need to make your own Magic Painting Shirt is in this video. I'm sure that Rebs will happily assist you on this one. You could work on it out on the deck, probably. Tell her to video it for you while you are working on it!! Can't wait to see it. xoxoxoxoxoxox

  • This is a great project for artists of any age or skill level. Practical too...and only gets better with each new project. You explained it very well. *****

  • Thanks so much, sweetie! Glad you enjoyed the video.

  • cool

  • Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • I've got a pair of jeans and a shirt that look just like your Magic Painting Shirt...

But mine ain't got the 'magic':D

  • I'll send you some fairy dust if you want.

I used to have a pair of jeans to match the shirt, too....but I 'outgrew' them a year ago. Dang! Just pudged right out and couldn't get them zipped up anymore, so I gave them to a thrift store to recycle.

How about making a video of yourself in your shirt and pants and posting it here? hhmmnn?

  • great job !!! I want one shirt the same.!!.

  • YAY! Let me know when you have it made and post the video here....I want to see it!

  • Omg The blues in the shirt at 1:37 Are like my favorite colors! Lol. I know Im random!

  • I'm a huge fan of the deep blues myself. Denim blue is my absolute fav of all! You know that indigo blue denim color? yummy!

  • Lol. Yes thats a nice color. I've figured out that Light Blue looks terrible on me so I love the darker vibrant colors. If you get what I'm saying.

  • Very interesting!

  • Thank you for watching and commenting!

  • HAha the your brush drying technique. Had a msile on my face the whole way through the vid.

  • This is good! Smiling is healthy! I'm trying to make my arts and crafts videos a bit more humorous, so let me know if I'm getting too serious, okay?

  • Sure thing :) It was good :)

  • Thank you, Lisa. This magic stuff is right up your alley, eh? How did you like that magic wand I made? LOL

  • It is! lol.. I loved it... I am the most "un-crafty" person you ever knew, I cant even stick a stamp on a letter straight... I have a three year old now so I am guessing I am going to learn fast! haha... hugs x

  • Oh boy...yes, you must be learning many things very quickly with a 3 year old. For instance....how to keep moving every single moment of the day. LOL

  • Thats an understatement! hahaha but I wouldnt change it x

  • Deb, what a great tute! I'm so gonna do this--been saving some white shirts to do stuff on, and this is the perfect project! How do you keep the fairy dust on? I have some glittery pearlescent fabric paints that would probably be just the thing.

Glad you sent me the friend request, 'cuz your videos are so inspiring!

  • I didn't want the glitter to stick to the shirt, so I sprinkled it on when the shirt was dry. I've used some pearlescent paints successfully in the past. There is a real quick shot of some gold in one of the stills. They add a nice touch.

Can't wait to see the shirts that you make. YAY!!! Please post video responses here so everyone can see them.

  • my favrite parts"tommy hill-figiigar" "fairy dust "

    cant wait to try!

    x

  • I like that 'magic wand' myself...the paint brush with the star earring clipped to it. LOL

  • wow i loved this video...so cool :)

  • Thank you, sugar lamb. Perhaps this will inspire a future project for you!

  • hmmm maybe :P

  • I've tried tie dying and believe me, this is much easier. I also love the look of batik, but again it is much more complicated than splashing paints about freely.

  • Great shirt!!! I would probably have more on the floor than the shirt, but it's worth a shot!!!

  • Absolutely worth a shot! Can't wait to see how it comes out for you. I'm sure you will wear it in one of your vids, eh? Post it here as a response so we can all see it. :D

  • Hi Deb, Great video.I would just like to tell everyone. I love my magic painting shirt you did for me. regards Baysidebob

  • Bobster! Did you see your photo at the end of the video? It's grainy and blurry but that's Bobola fer shure!

  • i love yo ideia;s

  • Thank you, honey.

  • no thank you the most

  • No, thank YOU the most! :D

  • LOL no YOU!

  • You have a such good imagination.I love the 3:58 Vibrant colors!

  • Why thank you, sweetpea! I have to have a good imagination so that I can keep myself occupied in my own little universe. xoxoxox

  • WooHOO What an awesome magic shirt!!! And very informative tutorial. Reminds me of the jeans you artistically splashed bleach on way back in the early 70's... Way to go seester, Can't wait to wear it. It will jack up my creativity a few notches. Yippee!

  • I'm glad that you like it. I know that I got carried away with the colors...you wanted more white areas on the shirt. I have a hard time stopping myself when it comes to color. :D

  • Yeah!~~~~~ My painting shirt not only RAWKS, but it gives me inspiration!!! I LOVE MY shirt but it's especially "special" cuzz it was made by Deb! :) Great video hun! but once mine is worn out, I won't be making my own, but buying another from you! :)

Great tutorial though! Love it! five stars!

  • And did you see your little mini Picasso in the video? Isn't he cute???

  • That looks like so much fun

    :)

  • It sure is!! Especially the magic wand and fairy dust parts. :D

  • My favorite part was getting MESSY!!!

Hopefully that paint washes...er, wears off.

Love the magic paintbrush wand :)

  • It's a bit like finger painting when I do abstracts. I have to get in there and really mess about with my hands. It actually comes off easily with soap and water and a little scrubbing. It's when it gets into the hair that problems begin!

  • awesome :) ... xoxo

  • Thanks, Lisa! You could paint some of your wonderful portraits on shirts. :D

  • Oh I have to make me one!!! Thanks for sharing with us!!

  • I hope you will video it and put the video as response here so we can ALL see it! YAY!!!
