Blasphemy ! Bruce is one of the best rock/metal vocalists in the world, for me in the Top 4. (Along with Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio and Freddie Mercury) Axl's voice has never been anywhere close.

@ubuybuyb actually Axl has said he likes their music and stated that Killers is one of his favorite albums. what he's saying in this interview is that he doesn't care for their stance and their approach to making music because to him wrting songs about history and mysticism and having your band be an empire isn't rock n roll. this conversation has more to do with GnR's business approach, not as much how their music sounds. That's how I take it.
I honestly don't know what's political about Iron Maiden too... anyway, I miss rock so much... we don't have true, really big rockstars anymore... we need people like Axl. Ultra-charismatic rockers that just don't give a fuck, that can and want to rock the shit out of full stadiums and arenas. Guitarists that can throw amazing riffs just like that, for every song... rock is almost dead. Indie-like subgenres are full of new bands, metal is decent, but hard rock? Dead.

@baconfireball I think its like comparing apples and oranges ,the1 think I've always liked about GNR is the fact that they've always considered themselves a rock n roll band, while everyone else was comparing them to "metal" bands like Maiden, they are completely different types of bands.Appetite for Destruction is one of my top 5 RnR albums of all time ,just a pure rock album from start till finish.Maiden has sum good songs but there is nothing in there catalog of albums that even comes close.

@ubuybuyb actually Axl has said he likes their music and stated that Killers is one of his favorite albums. what he's saying in this interview is that he doesn't care for their stance and their approach to making music because to him wrting songs about history and mysticism and having your band be an empire isn't rock n roll. this conversation has more to do with GnR's business approach, not as much how their music sounds. That's how I take it.

I honestly don't know what's political about Iron Maiden too... anyway, I miss rock so much... we don't have true, really big rockstars anymore... we need people like Axl. Ultra-charismatic rockers that just don't give a fuck, that can and want to rock the shit out of full stadiums and arenas. Guitarists that can throw amazing riffs just like that, for every song... rock is almost dead. Indie-like subgenres are full of new bands, metal is decent, but hard rock? Dead.

@baconfireball I think its like comparing apples and oranges ,the1 think I've always liked about GNR is the fact that they've always considered themselves a rock n roll band, while everyone else was comparing them to "metal" bands like Maiden, they are completely different types of bands.Appetite for Destruction is one of my top 5 RnR albums of all time ,just a pure rock album from start till finish.Maiden has sum good songs but there is nothing in there catalog of albums that even comes close.
