  • How did you do 2:28 that was awesome. I have been trying dual monitors out for a while now, I am running 10.10 Maverick Meercat on an Acer aspire 5532 laptop with one of my old monitors from a dell desktop. In your video it looks like your other monitor is an "extension", do you know of a way to get the different monitors to display different "work spaces"? If so, all information on this matter is much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • @aelohinjuz whichis your video card?

  • @prodigoislinux I have nVidia 8800 GTS in my laptop, if I configure without xinerama, the compiz works in my two screens, but load a different X in each one, then if I enable xinerama, the compiz is disable. I’m sure is a little configuration in xorg.conf, can I see yours?

  • # nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated by nvidia-settings

  • @aelohinjuz give me u re email and I ll send you my xorg.conf file.

  • @aelohinjuz Am sure you are using nvidia driver downloaded from the nvidia site.!!

  • @prodigoislinux Having the same thing with mine.. i downloaded the driver from the hardware drivers in Ubuntu and installed the recommended.. same thin happens with me.. can you assist.. i have it as two seperate screens but with Xinerama selected it gives me only one large display, I have a GForce 7300GT...

  • @damionabder You should install the driver from the nvidia page. After installing ,My xorg.conf file was generated by the nvidia-settings, so open up a terminal and type sudo nvidia-settings under x server display configuration should appear both of your monitors right, on the one off click configure and select twin view your monitor should be on if that worked click save to X Configuration file file which of course is the xorg.conf file and when saving deselect merge option.
