@PyroPortrayal Thanks,I had a lot of practice with the icing bag in the bakeries where I worked. I like the Bettercreme version a little more, but I can't get it in a regular store.
ok all I can say is WOW! I love it! God bless your talent I am just learning but I pray I can get good at this! I've been doing amatuer baking since I was a lil girl and love it!
hi i love your chocolate cake,i came from belgium, and i dont know what i must do to make good chocolate cake,i always make chocolate cake but its not good, its look like dat still not cook even its already 1hour en 20 minutes cook, can u give me en advice or a better ingredients?thank you so much.
@Emilyphx602 No, I don't use this icing for all my cakes. It is good for flowers like roses, pansies, sweet peas, drop flowers etc. If I want to make lillies, orchids, baby's breath, mums, etc, I use gum paste. Sometimes I use fudge frosting, buttercream, real whipped cream, cream cheese frosting, chocolate or something else. It all depends on what kind of cake I am making. To pipe figures, you can use this as long as the figures are not complicated. You can use royal icing for complicated ones.
It is called a plastic bowl scraper. Yes it is much easier than a spatula as you have more control over the frosting with it. You can get them at restaurant supply stores or online. They are really inexpensive so get a few. You have to be careful they don't get nicks on the edge from being in the drawer with sharper tools. They show up in the frosting as lines. Thanks for watching!
hello just want to know what that thing is called that u used for spreading the frosting hope you reply because I love baking and that seems easier than using a spatula.
hello! i just want to know the size of cake you've made?May you please give me the exact ingredients of the cake?I have here the pan sheet size 13x9x2 but I haven't try to use it..I usually bake cakes in my 10in round pan..Your response will be highly appreciated and a great help. Thanks!
@MrsLovescake Hi- this is a half sheet cake. It feeds 40 people. It is close to the size of two 9 x13 pans side by side on the bottom and another two 9 x13 pans side by side on the top. I used pillsbury devil's food cake mix and I believe I used 3 boxes of it. The two 9 x 13 pans side by side are slightly smaller but not much. You can use one box of mix for each 9 x 13 pan and the cake will be nice and thick. A traditional cake slice is 1 inch by 2 inches on the top and as thick as your cake is.
@MrsLovescake The icing was Pastry Pride non dairy whipped topping and the filling was vanilla pudding made with instant coffee let to firm up and then mixed with the non dairy whipped topping. I have actual half sheet pans and full sheet pans that I bought at a restaurant supply.

Hi there, I have seen dye cakes like yours and I always wondered how they got that colour or how they colour their icing like that but now I found the secret. Could you please tell me the name of that spray paint you were using? or where can I get it?
@kamanainai1 Hi, it is called Color Spray and it is made by Wilton. You can get it at Michael's Craft stores and from Wilton's website. Thanks for watching!
@sundry95 It is actually a non-dairy whipped topping. This can be left out a room temperature for up to 24 hours, but it should be protected in a box or covered with something to keep it from forming a crust too quickly and to protect if from flies, etc.
awesome my fav cake on yt! remember me (vanessahsucks is my old account) i remembered ur maarzipan roses cuz its hard to find this vid so i searched marzipan then ifound it yay
That Cake Looks AWSOMEEE! At the start, when you begin with the pipe around the edges, what is in the pipe, is it butter cream? it reminds me of a REALLY nice cake i had when i was little, but i don't know where it was from.
@Dylan32Woods I got mine at a store called Smart & Final. It is a restaurant supply type of store. You can google Pastry Pride to see where you can get it near you. You can also google Bettercreme and Frostin' Pride as they are all the same kind of icing.
@jazz123237 It is a non dairy whipped topping called Pastry Pride. It dosen't matter what kind of icing you use in the piping bag. You can use butter cream or fudge or even cream cheese frosting with a piping bag. Pastry pride is like whipped cream except it dosen't sweat when it gets warm in the room. I buy mine at Smart and Final Stores. Restaurant supply stores that carry food will have it or Frostin' Pride or Bettercreme. It's all the same kind of topping. You whip it yourself in the mixer.
@tanyvch Yes, I color it all the time. Either paste colors from wilton or liquid food color, I sprayed this cake for a different effect. You can also flavor it with extracts or cocoa powder too.
@tanyvch Hi Tanyvch, Well, I think the biggest thing is the consistency of the icing. If you whip it too much, it will be stiff and have bubbles in it. I You should whip it on medium speed and stop when the peaks are stiff but still glossy. If you whip this type of icing too much it will loose it's shine, and it will appear as though it is starting to break up like cottage cheese. I use the icing on the cake and the borders. I also use this icing to make roses on other cakes that have them.
@tanyvch It is a non Dairy whipped topping called Pastry Pride. It comes in liquid form in a milk carton type container and I put it in the mixer and mix it on medium speed until it holds peaks
@cupcakecass1 I get them at restaurant supply stores- you can find them on google near where you live. It's called a bowl scraper- one side is curved so you can get the icing out of the bowl and the other three sides are straight.
@Cristylive That is a plastic bowl scraper that bakers use. They are much easier to handle than spatulas. One side is curved so you can get icing out of a bowl and not leave any behind. The other side is flat so you can smooth out icing or scrape flour and things off the countertop. They are very inexpensive and you can get them at restaurant supply stores or where cake decorating / bakery equipment is sold.
@djcssp thanks so much for replying...im going to get one..i just started on icing cakes and stuff like that..i want to go to school for it..thaks again..and by the way.. you make awsome cakes i love them!
@kporter5891 I made molds from sculpey plastic by wrapping the sculpey around some natural crystals that I have and then baking the sculpey to harden it. Then after it was cool I sprayed it with cooking spray and poured lollipop candy inside and left it to harden before I removed it. Then I used more lollipop candy to glue the individual crystals together to make clusters.
@Mariamgely , I have used fondant many times. This person wanted whipped topping icing because it is not as sweet as butter cream or fondant. Fondant is also much more expensive and lots of people don't want to pay that much.
you took barely any time to ice! impressive and SMOOTH! my icing takes FOREVER. I have bought that cake icing tip but have not had a chance to use it yet. Where did you get that smoother for icing?
I get mine at Smart & Final Stores. They also have a similar product called Bettercreme, and another called Frostin' Pride. Smart & Final Stores are like a restaurant supply store that also sells food.
This kind of icing can stay out at room temperature for up to 24 hours. I would recommend keeping it in a cake box. A cake this size- (a half sheet cake) will fit on a shelf in the refrigerator if the shelf is empty. This cake makes 40 servings- cut 8 by 5.
No, I just bake them the day before and put them in the refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap to prevent drying. I do not "dirty ice" my cakes. I just ice them. It's not necessary to dirty ice when you use the icing bag in the manner I use it in this video. Dirrty icing is for icing with a spatula or pallette knife when you have trouble with the crumbs coming up through the icing.
It is called Pastry Pride. It is a non-dairy whipped topping that is used in bakeries. It comes as a liquid and you whip it yourself . I get mine at Smart & Final stores. There is a similar product called Bettercreme also, and another called Frostin' Pride.
I made molds for them with sculpey modelling plastic and baked in the oven. After the molds were hard I sprayed them with cooking spray. I then made lollypop candy from scratch and colored it and poured it into the molds I made.
I bought band instrument stickers at Michaels craft store and covered both sides with laminating plastic that is self sticking. before I put it on the back I put a bamboo skewer on it.
You can make it sweeter or less sweet as you like and once they are blended turn the mixer up to a faster speed to make it fluffy. You can add cocoa powder to make cocolate. The more you add the darker chocolate it gets. It's all up to how you like it.
For Butter creme, use unsalted butter and powdered sugar and vanilla or crisco shortening, powdered sugar and vanilla. All at room temperature using a paddle in your mixer, blend them together. Approximately 1 box of powdered sugar to a pound of unsalted butter or shortening.
This is non dairy whipped topping called Bettercreme that comes in a quart container in the freezer section of Smart & Final Stores. You thaw it out, put it in your mixer and whip it.
I used international coffee brand instant cappuccino mixed into the milk I made instant pudding with. When the pudding set up I folded whipped cream into it. It's and easy kind instead of cooking pastry cream over a double boiler.
It is called Pastry Pride. It is a non dairy whipped topping that comes in liquid form. You put it in the mixer and whip it on medium speed. You can buy it at Smart and Final or a bakery/ restaurant supply store that has a freezer section. It is usually frozen when you buy it and you thaw it in the fridge.
Wow, what an awesome cake!! I was wondering if you could tell me where I could find that spray paint? Is your white scraper like a bowl scaper because I have been looking for one of those too. Any help you could give me I would really appreciate. Thanks!!
I got that spray paint at Michaels Craft store in the cake decorating isle. It is Wilton food color spray. The white scraper is a bowl scraper and you can usually get them at Smart & final or any restaurant supply store. They are alot easier to use than a metal spatula for smothing the top of the cake.
I really liked this video. Thanks for posting.

I used international coffee brand instant cappuccino mixed into the milk I made instant pudding with. When the pudding set up I folded whipped cream into it. It's and easy kind instead of cooking pastry cream over a double boiler.

What kind of icing are you using? I'm looking for something other than buttercream.
