This hardly qualifies as a solo... It's just blast beats and tom hits over fast double bass.. pfft. John Longstreth's sounds checks sound more interesting.
@MorbidDiarreah if everybody makes the same shit on the instruments we wouldn't have different kind music, inferno solos maybe are not the best but in the band he use more talent lol
Inferno is a monster.even if he uses his axis a little lightly when he's above 230 or 240 but he still kills it.his work on The Apostasy was some baaaad shit in my opinion.plus his personal style of Death/Black metal drumming stands out against any other drummer in the genre! and he isnt some cocky bastard.He does his job and does it perfect
I think inferno is an amazing drummer, one of my favs, but the only thing though, and it completely killed me, he is a tapper, his beaters barely move.
and no, joey doesnt suck, so what he isnt as fast as inferno, hell hammer, frost, george, ok alot of drummers, but he does come up with some great stuff. who does suck is lars ulrich... but i wont go into that.
Now what you said about Lars. I don't think Lars is great, especially not for the kind of metal you *seem* to listen to. Lars is a pretty damn good classic metal drummer. He would suck at death metal, and all those counterparts, but as a good ol' metal drummer, he's actually pretty good.
well what i dont like about lars is he sticks to mainly one beat, dont get me wrong, i like metallica, infact lars is the reason i started to play drums, and for a very long time they used to be my fav band, great songs like fade to black, the god that failed, sad but true, whiplash, harvester of sorrow, unfortunatly like i said, what now puts me off is that he just sticks to one or two beats.
Yeah, and I'll take back my first part. Gene Krupa was fast, as well as Buddy Rich but they didn't necessarily always have a rhthym either..
I just don't see what's so great about this dude, cause from what I see he's fast but not much else... Maybe I just don't know death metal drumming well enough...
it's like nergal said: inferno isn't the most technical or the fastest drummer in the scene. but his drumming kills. he's just perfect for the job. intensity and perfect interpretation on every song. he is one of those unique in death metal drumming. or... blackened death metal...

hmm they present different styles of playing death metal. Kolias is more 'lyrical'.... has got more 'class'. Inferno, on the other hand, is pure brutality! He seems more dynamic to me. None of them is better or worse. THEY'RE BOTH GODS OF DEATH METAL DRUMMING MYTHOLOGY. amen!

In my opinion, this drummer is fast, but isn't really any good.
I like Slipknot, but I don't think Joey is the best drummer ever. For christ sakes, go look up Gene Krupa, he's fucking incredible!

I think Inferno is amazing, he's my favourite drummer. Inspirational in my opinion.
But you're right, Gene Krupa basically invented drums, besides Buddy Rich.
