Sarandon is brilliant in this and deserved the nom. They cut the best part out in this one of two scenes. Besides Sonny putting a gun and knife to him, after he says he took all those pills, he says, "Sonny came to the hospital and says, 'Why, Leon, when things were going so good?'"

Chris's feminine-burrough accent is great! He even adds in that Sonny's a great father, when the guy has clearly been put through hell. Stellar performance! I look forward to it whenever I revisit this classic.
