i think Mr. jojokeo might be right, a friend of mine is good with stuff and i asked him why my $130 Timmy sounded way better than my $215 Eternity Burst and i think thats what he said(sorry but when people start using big words like component and variations my mind goes straight to thoughts of titties and beer!)
You gotta level match when you compare 2 pedals side by side, otherwise the louder one will seem "better." It's obvious that the Luther is set much louder than the screamer making this comparison unfair.
Nice Demo! People need to understand that there's slight component variations as well as gain structures, etc. on various pedals. Meaning the Green Screamer may be using all 100k pots and the Luther may be using 250k's or 10k's for all we know. As a result, you can't just set everything the same and expect them to be the same. You need to listen to them through their entire ranges and directly comparing like this is very difficult. They both sounded great to me.

what type chip do you use in your luther drive & is it a coincidence that it looks so much like fulltone's ocd box or do you guy's share something in the technology..
BBE GREEN SCREAMER - sounds warmer and smoother, slightly more transparent and slightly brighter on single-note stuff
GMD LUTHER DRIVE - sounds louder, more transparent and slightly brighter on chords
***like always, it depends on what other gear you're using, how all of your gear complements/works against each other, what sound you're looking for, how it feels, and what you're willing to pay.***
PLEASE keep making demo videos. It should have been obvious to me but after listening to another guy demo the green screamer you are leaps and bounds ahead! thannks,
Mine is currently broken. (I have a screamer.) Probably just a short. I'm planning on modding it aswell to give some more bass and fullness. They honestly feel pretty cheap. But then again I got mine for $40.00, so it was cheap what else can a guy expect.
That being said, the first one i got had to be returned in favour of the new one, which appears to be fine.
Not to whore myself out, but i just posted a shitty demo for a friend which youre more than welcome to watch, because I like GMD, I just dont feel like he knows how to use a TS,
I somewhat agree with the man below, at least the luther is not for me, but nor is the bbe. I do love my ocd and TSes, but these both have too much of a nasal(ee) high end. Not a fan of any BBE stompboxes. I do however very much enjoy all of the videos and shootouts. Keep em coming GMD, and thanks!

sorry GMD, but the Luther Drive fucking sucks, I know you are proud of it, but it has the beef and roundness of a supermodel...know what i mean...throw that shit away...lol...but anyways, keep the vids comin, i check up on em everyday...rock on...
Yo tmb soy de Mexico, le pedi uno a GMD a una direccion en el paso, yo vivo en la frontera asi fue como le hice yo pero GMD manda internacionalmente por 155 dlls, excelente pedal!
The Luther is a bit smoother. I heard some fizzyness on the BBE, which if I can hear through youtube's compression means that it's noticeable in real life lol.
No fizzyness at all.. I've owned this pedal 3 times now. It seems to always find away back to my board. I got it right next to my TS808 and I find myself playing it a lot more..
Yeah, Lutherdrive kicked its ass. I always felt BBE were overrated and not really "boutique" as many consider them. About on par with Boss, Ibanez pedals.
Hey, how much for one to Mexico City?

That being said, the first one i got had to be returned in favour of the new one, which appears to be fine.

Definitely the Luther drive, it has a far superior tone. It reminds me of the dirty boy range of pedals.
mattchurchill 2 years ago
The luthers got more of a clear tone, this one is pretty close But I think the luther wins sound wise and looks wise
PapaKenny777 2 years ago
man the luther sounds really good on the neck pickup, not muddy at all.
