  • Love her laugh <3

  • She is good for someone who was born in Korea

  • 얘 영어는.. 아니다

    일어는 몰라도

  • I think many USA artists already know about BoA since they eventually have to learn about different culture's pop music and artists.

  • 素晴らしいです!会話自体は全然たいしたことないですが、恥ずかしいがらずに発音もがんばってるところがすばらしい!

    自分も今、外国にいるんですが、、

    発音とかねー、、、どーしても、、ね、、

    うらやましいです、、ヽ(´o`;

  • She has good taste in music xDI love her so much,She is amazing! <333

  • BoA likes J-Ro! Ha. I wonder if any of those USA artists know who BoA is. I bet they'd be blown away after seeing her work.

  • awww she is so kute

i like her laugh so kute :D

  • 會日語,英文能力又強,歌唱舞蹈實力更不用說了...寶兒是傳奇啊...

  • She's soo cute

  • I BEEN WAITING FOR 10 YEARS NOW FOR BOA TO MAKE BIG HIT IN USA

  • @TwizTransformerz hey do you know what the last song is called? with BOA?

  • wow she speaks english far better than me (゚o゚;;

  • love her laugh! =))

  • v's and f's are always really hard for someone born and raised in korea, so she is pretty dang good :)

  • you don't have to be korean to know her english is great. just listen to her english songs. they're great compared to her competitors.

  • 에프랑 브이 발음 제대로 안 해주네 ㅋ

she didn't pronounce f sound and v sound properly.

  • she's korean so I think her english is very good!

  • boa;s alright for a person that was born and taught how to speak korean she needs to talk english frequently to perfect english.

  • BoA do some concerts in Canada

  • Her English is really good :D

  • GOOD ON YOU BOA!!! BIG UP MICHAEL JACKSON, DESPITE THAT ASSWIPE JERK INTERVIEWER TRYING TO GET YOU TO SIDE WITH HIS IGNORANT VIEWS ON MICHAEL.

  • Let go off her hand! lool .... She's my idoll =]

  • This interviewer seems like a jerk. He kept rushing her along, as if he didn't wanna be interviewing her. and he kept baiting her with odd questions "Michael Jackson is strange isn't he?" jerk off

  • her laugh is so cute

  • She talks English very well.I am not Korean and I am not American but in school I study English. And in free time I study Korean and i know Korean is thousand times harder than English and this two languages are so different .But Boa speak very very good she only has problems with names of American artist. BOA PERFECT!

  • BoA really improves a lot in her recent interview. She was about 16 when this interview was shot. Try to Imagine a person speaking english as a second lang when he/she were 16. They might not be better than her. She definitely works hard to improve her accent n grammar in order to get into the market in the States. BoA rocks!

  • boa cutieee

  • Her English sucks.

Can't believe it! Studied in an International School?? No way!

  • @567watcher dont forget she also speaks japanese and chinese i think lol, 4 languages aint easy

  • Comment removed

  • @567watcher She know alot of languages, what about you? Look yourself in the mirror before judging someone else. GET A LIFE.

  • @boarable Look at yourself. I know more than she does. Get your ass move one and get a life.

  • @boarable At least she's a star in Asia, you're just a tiny little human waiting to die. -.-

  • @567watcher dont be trolling.

  • @fantasychan76 I'm NOT. What about you?

  • what song that was played after the interview?

  • I thought she was Japanese....

  • @Grimzen3000

    ;D no she's Korean, honey.

  • Comment removed

  • BOA's english improved a lot now.

  • "but michael's a little strange"?

was he trying to make her say things that could be taken wrong?

  • got a question so she is pop in korea and pretty well known in japan too, but did her career soar as well in the US? (although i doubt it, i just wanted to be sure)

  • @KongAiShangAshley no, she was never that popular in the US.

  • @vetagkevin

    ahhhh i thought so too.......

  • i like her music and stuff but heres my big quetion:

i know she is full korean but she speaks japanese well

and she can pronounce the "F".

why she happend to say jenni"P"er lopez"??

  • @thepinkink

lol.... that means she's not a natural speaker.....! ^^

  • BOA is really boa (hot or sexy in portuguese)

  • I always thought that she was Japaneese, not Korean!!! Big shock to me there, but I still love her.

  • I always thought she was Japanese, not Korean

  • "jejepo? jenipope?"

    HAHAHA

    shes so cute

  • what's so mean about correcting somebody? i guess i wouldn't understand who is "janic jess".i'm not insulting or something but the interviewer tries to present her to the viewers. it's normal. he's doing his job. but yes, he's should be very kind to equal it. :)

  • BoA should marry Hiro Mizushima , Hiro Mizushima should divorce Ayaka and marry BoA cause they speak both english and japanese. Too bad Hiro don't speak Korean.

  • Aw.. poor baby tries to speak goo English ^^^ She sounds soo cute

  • long time ago

    but i still like it;))

  • 棒子粟米大

  • what is that song at the end

  • @turnip30090 the song is keiske

  • This lame interviewer was acting like he has "something- at- all to do with making BoA popular in the states,he was a interupting jerk, and making corrections over her names, and you see she was wanting to pull her hand away. he wouldn't let go.what a wierd old man.haha!

  • ㅋㅋㅋ뭔가 친근한데? 진짜 그냥 옆집 누나가 영어하는 것 같음

  • i love BoA!!!!! she, Cyrstal Kay, and Utada Hikaru are like my 3 favorite Asian singers ever!

  • omg her english is soooooooo freakin cute!!! I LOVE BOA!!! =D

  • Awwwa, when she talks you can hear her accent! SHE'S SOOO ADORABLE!!! *hugs*

  • what song was that at the end of boa's interview.

  • Michael Jassen hahaha love it! I love hearing people talk who don't know english well it's extremely endearing and adorable.

  • @olexia07 shes getting better with her english more and more. listen to some of her recent interviews. she's speaks beautifully.

  • We still need many photos for "Project ShowUrLove4BoA" ! Deadline is Nov. 17. Details on our youtube channel.

  • im not been sad... but she really needs to work on english if she expects to go international... i really love her... but yeeah

  • I like Michael jassen, TOO.??? Jennifer lope???

  • btw, what's this interview for?

  • Well i hv no comment for the talents of BoA or Hikki, but, of course Hikki speaks better english than boa, duh?!! she was born in US and, she attended international school while in Japan~~ As for Boa, for a korean singer, her english is okay.. better than others kpop singer that grew up in korea~

  • Utada is a really great talented singer, and humble.

  • She is annoying, irritant. My God, Utada is so much better, how to compare?

  • Naww when she says Janet Jackson,Michael Jackson she's so cute and also when she says Jennifer Lopez hihi she still sounds very good, I saw a interview with her on Soompi and she talks better english in my Opinion :)

  • yah she not educated but a super star now who cares anywise BoA u are...lol just keep the hard work u do every day lol remember boa we are you big fan out here im America lol bye ceeya

  • even though not educated...but shes a superstar now!

  • lol...she said "J-Ro."

  • owo ~I haz a crush on Boa

  • 1:38 thru 1:47 sounds exactly like "no scrubs" by TLC

  • @marblelights Yeah, I think she probably sampled.

  • her english is actually way better than most. Cuz engl is the hardest language to learn cuz our constants and vowel pronunciations are always changing. Like the a in ha and hat are'nt the same. Thats prolly why american engl is suppose to be the broken engl and in England and stuff they pronounce the a in hat the same way they do in ha so their engl is the "right way".lol long explanation but seriously can we please get some successful asian music over here! Please come and stay in america!lol

  • english is the most hardest language/??puhahahha i craked up

  • Lol seriously its true, its true! I know its hard to believe since we speak it and its hard to learn other languages and stuff but yeah.lol I laughed too when I first heard about it. But if you think about it, it sort of makes sense.

  • dude you know english is like the hardest language in the world because it is back-to-front from other languages study it fucktard

  • @sighOwhatevs I second that. I feel lucky that I learned English before any other language because I realise that the reason whysome of my Korean friends find it a task to say 'girl' is because their tongues are accustomed to Korean pronunciations. On the other hand it was pretty easy for me to start speaking Korean and adapt to the way they pronounce things. Mandarin's a different story though.

And yeah, English is backward from most languages.

  • Did u learn korean already? Is it hard cuz thats one of the languages that i wanna learn. O and im just curious but are you asian?

  • I guess you can say that I will not starve nor get lost in Korea with the Korean that I do have LOL. I can understand it pretty well, making up sentences takes some time, but I still have like 20 more sessions at language school anyways. And yes, I am Asian.

  • korean has 19 letters and 10 vowels.

  • JLo?

    JLo.

    JLo...

    ... JLo... JLo.

  • Its so funny that just about every asian singer loves michael and janet! I LOVE IT!!!!

  • she didnt have any problem with listening. I think her english is not bad. She just needs to frequently speak in English to master it.

  • What was the song that was being played at 1:33 ?

  • Her laugh is so natural, it's cute!

  • the interviewer is extremely nice and a gentleman.

  • ok About the video now: Her accent is cute :] and i loved her laugh

  • Well English may be easy to learn, but with everything she has on her hands, it must have been kind of tough. And I've heard Americans try and pronounce Korean (or whatever Asian words :] ) and their accent sucked. Its the same as you guys (non-Asians) trying to pronounce a Korean word. Shes working on her pronunciation give her some credit for that, her accent actually improved, Lets see one of you guys try what she does, learn multiple languages and try to pronounce them perfectly.

  • ok, it has been proven that english is actually the hardest language in the world to learn and speak. and i'd love to see you (Kaleidscorp) speak a foreign language. so just shut your mouth unless you know what your talking about!

  • seriously? that can't be true!!! XD

  • don't know why some people are picking about her english. speaking a foreign language is difficult in general when you were not grown up there. Boa is doing a great job.

  • Yea but generally we dont use that much "YOU" in our general convo.

  • English may seem easier for a native speaker, but the pronounciation and grammar of Korean is very different

  • im pretty sure its only 2 ways... 1 formal and 1 informal...

  • Lol...actually her english was better when she was younger...no kidding....it got worse progressively as she stayed in Japan and never got to use it

  • She seems a nice lady. Pity the interviewer was such a self-serving buffoon.

  • lol but u gotta give her credit, her english is better than most azns

  • Interview was teaching student

  • aww shes so cute

  • mykoe jasson

  • I just love how she says Jennifer Lopez. She was so cute then.

  • This was like from 2003 anyway.

This was the time where she really didn't have to use english like she does now because she was only active in korea and japan. Watch a recent interview her english is sooo much better :]

  • Her english got better since this interview! xD

  • he seemed to be more interested in correcting her or something than interviewing her. or maybe it's just be but it seemed like he was talking to a little kid. how mean xD;;

  • I know what you mean, but to be fair I think he was just translating the Asian shortenings so that a Western Audience would understand.

Of course he is sooooo old, that to him, she IS a little kid!

  • and degrading and racist to boot! i found his interviewing her more offensive than a nice interview where we got to learn about her.

  • How was it racist?

  • Borned in New York does not mean you can speak like the native . word dawg .

Her english is still Korean in pronounciation and intonation but her understanding is so-so.

  • Yeah, but growing up there does! (Utada i mean).

  • This must have been one of her first interviews because she's improved a lot since this one...

  • yeah this was like from 2004 or 2003 shes really young here :]

  • utada speaks better english.

  • thats because she grew up speaking english.

  • Duh. She's native. She was born in NY.

  • Utada grew up in New York! I don't think Utada's Korean is that great.

  • utada hikaro is a japanese

  • ah she's cute.

  • why compare BoA and Hikki? I love them both. period.

  • yeah i agree with you theyre both amazing artists and theres no reason to compare them both

  • @AYuNoaNet i'd rape them both

  • It can be that Utada is better than BoA but Utada (Hikaru) is Japan nr. 1 and BoA is Korean nr. 1, that's the different from both. But I think they are the one of the most success asian artist who has (little) success in USA.

  • G-NAR!

    lmao

  • so young..

  • wat's the sogn at the end?

  • it is Kiseki ... but i prefer jaoanese version.

  • utada is better

  • Hell yes.

  • Nah...BoA is actually better.

  • @KenKong lol well Utada Hikaru was born in New York City to begin with

  • @KenKong utada was born in the states and spent 15 years til she moved to tokyo. haha. no wonder.

  • @dodgerox85 Utada is just better than BoA at speaking Eng... but BoA is more amazing than that normal Utada

  • what's the song after the interview?

  • Michael's liyyle strange... lol

    HAHAAA!

    I love BOA!!!

  • I love her!

I found her Japanese stuff in 2006.

I'm so glad she is in America now!

And that her english has improved since this interview, even though it was cute. :)

  • Aww she's so cute[: she's really talented to! Go BoA!

  • if i wasnt gay id marry that girl...

  • but she wont

  • i guess that gay-haters have to be burnt too ! i'll toss you in hell ! heehaaaaaaaa ! you're not a good believer if you're that full of hatred. in the bible it's written: "love you one another". who are you to judge a human being ? are you a god or something ? so just shut up and wait for god's judgment.

  • word son..

  • jello

  • she looks better here than in her english MVs

  • I found it was relatively easy to ramp up to about university level in English once you get past the idioms, conjugations, and the plethora of exceptions. Chinese/Japanese/Korean, on the other hand, I found was far harder to pick up on the basis of spelling alone. Once you get the alphabet and spelling patterns down (incld. the common exception patterns) the basics of English are rather simple to work with. However, the latter had too few patterns to work with and relied on rote memorization.

  • I hope this man is going to help BoA out now, because he said he will ! =D

  • her english as a lot better now.. search her english interview

  • so pretty

  • Actually, English IS in fact, one of the hardest languages to learn. I mean think about how many times we use the same word but for different meanings? Not to mention all of the grammar rules and shortenings of words such as "couldn't", and addressing people --- it's all very complex, especially for someone who's never spoken it before. I think BoA's doing a great job at learning! I mean, she can speak Korean, Japanese, and even English! :)

  • French is much more difficult and arabic too

  • French is easy, with Latin derivatives.

    Arabic, that'd be difficult too.

English is comprised of 3 languages, idioms, chronological usages, and no accents to mark phonetics, etc

    Duh.

  • Korean is much harder, English compared to other 200 languages is quite simple.

  • Chinese is the hardest of all.

  • I think English can be both hard and easy to learn depending on your first language. For example, I find English pretty easy to learn since my first language is French and because the grammatical structure is kinda the same. However, it's probably harder for BoA since her first language is korean and the grammatical structure's really different XD!

Anyway, I think she's doing a really good job in the interview =3

  • However I think Chinese Korean and Japanese are much harder to speak well than English. Japanese has an incredible amount of vocabulary to learn due to the writing, Chinese and Korean pronunciations seem very hard. The fact that few westerners can speak these languages proficiently proves it.

  • they are not harder to speak, they are harder to write. english is an IMPOSSIBLE language if you arent born into it or its environment. every rule in english has about 10-30 exceptions to it. nothing is consistent about the language. at least with japanese A I U E O is pronounced the same ALL THE TIME! enlish has over 8000 sounds to the english and frankly does not make any sense in the slightest. westerners cannot speak those languages fluenty....because they are stupid LOL!

  • Yes in Singapore it is a national language. Malaysia. Hong Kong former english colony. They use it. Japan they don't use it, just pass a written test. Stupid haha well I think just lazy and not dedicated so that's why many westerners spend time in Asian countries but don't get very proficient in speaking it. I still think Chinese and Japanese are harder to speak than English at a high level. For Japanese their complex writing means a incredible amount of vocabulary to know to speak high level.
