Apparently he only weighs around 40 pounds. Which the sheriff now says they've found out is about twice too heavy for the balloon.

I thought the whole thing was interesting all along. I thought at first it was a joke by the kids instead of a hoax by the parents (but I'm kind of changing my opinion based on things like Falcon's words to his dad "you had said we did this for a show").

I kind of wish I would've KNOWN about it while it was happening live. I found out at the end.

That balloon is plenty large enough to hold up a child. it's actually enough to lift up an excess of 100+ pounds. seen it done before with balloons of around the same size.

Mythbusters used party baloons, so you'll have to take into account the empty space between the baloons, extra surface area, etra weight of the latex... yeah...

The science is sound for a 6 year old to be lifted up. the fact that he wasn't was a different story.

The balloon is way too small to lift a person. Did you see the mythbusters episode when they picked up a 5 year old with balloons? It was huge! Or the lead balloon myth, or the lawnchair weather balloon myth. You need alot more helium than that to lift 50 lbs

It could, the maximum payload of the baloon was 80 lbs, the small boy was somewhere arund 35 to 40 lbs, so it could of lifted him up, but its a hoax since they didnt find him in the balloon.
