@Puchjok ... and obviously, good old Andrej cannot stand criticism (regardless if constructive or not) any more as well - or is there any other reason for blocking my comments on your Gavrilov-promotion-channel??? My best wishes to him, anyway.
This man has one of the most exciting imaginations in music. This is really inspired.I didn't know his Bach was this glorious behind all the syle and violence and amazing fingers there is this spirit that has affinity for the heaven and polyphony of Bach.Almost shattering after his Shostakovich& Prokoviev !
Having played the fugue I must agree it is difficult to maintain an even tone, particularly with parallel thirds in either hand. Gavrilov manages this sublimely (with an enormous ring on his finger too, for added quirkiness!).
this whole set of videos is so artisticly done all around. cinematography, commentary, audio quality, piano quality, architecture, lighting (esp. for ex. at the beginning of the prelude taking off with the "white idea", and of course pianism bursting with ideas.
gavrilov is ridiculous. *flaps his hands like wings* "maybe angel"
also badass. he got arrested for insulting the ussr.

I miss this pianist. When will he ever come back to America to play? He is a hero!
klavierspieler72 1 year ago
@klavierspieler72 He is coming to America regularly. But only for special occasions.
Last he was in Florida, Palm Beach playing for all American Nobel prize laureates.
He dose not want to be ( since 1995 ) in the "main stream" music business which he can not stand any more!
