If they're gona do another one, the timing seems good. The post apocalyptic thing is resonating now with global warming the way it did with the cold war for 1 & 2. Its obviously going to be fucking awful, but there might be some nice CGI shanty cities and some cool cars. Hell, there is no they can do anything worse than 3 atleast. The Mad Max movies started my love for games like Fallout and Metro 2033, End of the world survival based movies are great and I just cant see the 4th movie being all to great without Mel Gibson.

MM1 and MM2 are precision built master pieces. Thats really brave trying to do MM4. MM3 is a classic example of when seasoned directors who think they can cut it, simpy cant - what a disgrace MM3 was. MM4 would be great, but the time and effort to craft it like 1 and 2 is paramount, otherwise the reviews will be scathing - another MM3 is utterly unforgivable. WB are not exactly a quality focused operation - this stinks of personal wealth, But id love to add MM4 to my periodic viewing of MM1&2.

Theres a few years gap in between the first and second, so if they're trying to cast a young max its possible that they might have the story between one and two.
See, it's like Ripley being cloned for Alien 4 (which, in spite of it, I STILL thought was a great movie) it DOESNT make any sense but anything is possible. Although it's TOTALLY inconceivable that the Interceptor was rebuilt, that doesnt mean that there wasn't another one built or in existance that nobody knew of.
in the original they put together rare parts. it was QUOTE the last of the big vs's. but they did seem to drop this for part 2 and even more for part 3.
I love Mad Max but how can the xb be in it if it gets blown up in Road Warrior? prequel? I heard it was set 20 years after thunderdome and he has his own tribe and it gets wiped out by marurders and him and his son get some good ol vengeance. And Fuck Gibson if he not gonna do it! At worst, they'll do what they did with the first one; dub US accents on the American version "Because Americans apparently have a problem with understanding Australian accents." In reality, it was because he wasn't sure how it would do in America at the time

It's not Mad Max without Mel Gibson and it never will be. If they get another person to play Mad Max, it had better be a REAL Australian and not an Englishman, Irishman or New Zealander in that role. I believe Mel Gibson could putt it off again as Mad Max. He could play the role as Mad Max being a lot older and it will draw crowds that way.

Mel would best recover from this bad press in recent years revisiting the role that he's best appreciated as. He's really done quality work since though

Mel Gibson is the only man for the job. I'm pretty disappointed to hear he won't return to the series. I will be watching, I'm always excited for something post-apocalyptic, especially the godliest title in the genre, Mad Max. But without Mel Gibson, will it even be the same?

@boleplissken It may suck, but what can we do? Until we know what the cast is and who will be producing and directing the film for a fact, we cant really predict shit. If anything I think it would be smart for Mel to take the part of max again so he may be able to get some popularity and reputation back. Or it could do the polar opposite if the movie is done wrong.

MM1 and MM2 are precision built master pieces. Thats really brave trying to do MM4. MM3 is a classic example of when seasoned directors who think they can cut it, simpy cant - what a disgrace MM3 was. MM4 would be great, but the time and effort to craft it like 1 and 2 is paramount, otherwise the reviews will be scathing - another MM3 is utterly unforgivable. WB are not exactly a quality focused operation - this stinks of personal wealth, But id love to add MM4 to my periodic viewing of MM1&2.

See, it's like Ripley being cloned for Alien 4 (which, in spite of it, I STILL thought was a great movie) it DOESNT make any sense but anything is possible. Although it's TOTALLY inconceivable that the Interceptor was rebuilt, that doesnt mean that there wasn't another one built or in existance that nobody knew of.

I heard it was set 20 years after thunderdome and he has his own tribe and it gets wiped out by marurders and him and his son get some good ol vengeance. And Fuck Gibson if he not gonna do it!
