  • One of my favorite songs, thanks for this great lesson!

  • Great lesson...easy to follow especially with the chords highlighted on the video !

  • What G do you use? Love this vid it is helped me alot.

  • Man, I've never seen such a big right hand, it's totally spooky!

  • during the verses strum the C chord .. keep timing and strumming smooth.. then slide the C chord shape , keeping it exactly the same up two frets..

  • im gonna try this myself. so many different ways to do this... Beginners may have a problem doing it this way though.

  • youll like it , its just a different type of d chord.. rings real nice .. i like the way you do the intro... and the short instrumental part.. thanks + good luck

  • That's How I learned it Jimmy, It sounds better that way electric... however I like this sound for acoustic. So, subjective... but your the one singing it so doing what u like matters most.

  • good job!!

I think I could learn it easily!! Is the best chords explain I have seen hear.

    Regards from Spain

  • Awesome lesson, thanks.

    keep up the good work.

  • Hmmmm....can you be a little more specific buddy? I'm quite new to guitar, only been like a few months.

  • how exactly would u "slide" form a C to D?

    can anyone help me?

  • oi mate, use a double bar chord C and D if you want to play it that way.

  • You're supposed to slide from C to D! It's the song's hook, so you can't skip over it! Perhaps you think it's too tough for beginners, but it's not - it was Bill Berry (the drummer) who "wrote" that hook after all(by happy accident, the same way most hooks come about). It was one of the first songs I learned, and it wasn't hard to play (although, like most R.E.M. songs, it was hard to play well).

  • wow, you're so right. and it sounds better as well. cheers mate. this is just the way i learned it hey, but always looking for better ways... Red

  • Very instructional. most guys just instruct with the chords.

  • love your lessons would love it even more if you could strum some of your songs and maybe you could also give the strum pattern ie DDUUDU(D= DOWN STROKE U = UP STROKE AS YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW) Great lessons keep it up
