To fix the error that you get when you try to install some drivers on Dell and HP, can be bypassed by reinstalling Vista. It worked for me.

the reason you get "component not found" for the drivers from the NVIDIA site as stated at the start of your video is that you downloaded the drivers for a DESKTOP graphics card. You are clearly using a LAPTOP graphics card. Look for the Notebook drivers in the future.

I didn't notice about manufacturers limiting driver upgrade before, so I just gone straight into Nvidia's site and updated the driver directly. There wasn't any error when installing. But there must be a reason for the manufacturer to limit driver upgrade.

What graphics card do you have? If you download a program called GPU-Z (Google it), it'll tell you everything. ;)

Or, just go to google (dot) com and type in "Nvidia Drivers" and click the first link. That way you're donloading the LATEST drivers for your graphics card with only 2 clicks (selecting gfx card series, then clicking "continue") and download it from the official Nvidia website, and not the second hand website that updates less regularly than Nvidia

Yes, you can do that. But the point of this video is for the computers where you have to use the stock drivers. Some vendors limit their computer to their drivers only. Using NVidia's drivers does not fix it. Using these drivers do. :)

With your speccs, you really shouldn't run that slow. The only thing I would have to say is upgrade your RAM, and your graphic card. And maybe your hard drive. But seriously, if you want to play any of the newer games out there, you better off buying a new computer all together... :)

It would be hard to mess up your video card badly. You might of not uninstalled all of the parts of the video driver... It probably went to a lower resolution, but that's because you had no video driver installed....

Nope. For the 64-Bit driver, you have to be running a 64-Bit OS. You cannot even use a 32-Bit driver in 64-Bit either... It's all based on compatibility. :)

Google "best graphic cards", then click the first link. It'll bring you to a PCMag Website. You'll be able to sort the graphic card by what kind of price, and popularity (so you know your getting a good card). I hope that helps you out. I cannot post a direct link. Because graphic cards are not cheap... The NVidia GeForce cards (the high end ones) are very nice, fast, and affordable. They range around 200-300 dollars. ;)

Yes, the Series 8 cards are pretty new; and they are pretty nice and fast! Just make sure it has at least 256mb of Video RAM. I say this because if you would want to game, that would be perfect for you. ;) Now if you play extremely high end games like Crysis, I would recommend 512. ;)

If the installer of the Nvidia drivers from their own site does not want to install, if you have WinRAR installed onto your machine then you can right click the executable file from Nvidia's site and extract files to a folder, and then you can manually add the .inf file as shown in the video above or use the forum :)

Yes, you can do it that way. But, every time I did it that way, my laptop would not install the driver (the INF file), because it is not supposed to work on my system. This is why LaptopVideo2Go is invented. Yes, that does work with some systems, but not on some.

Yeah, the nForce drivers. Myself, I use the nForce 560; but the drivers take care of components like the coprocessor, and the ethernet. Nothing with the graphics. But, it's a great drive. Yeah, someday their be real graphic cards in laptops you can upgrade. Might be a while; but if we got rid of onboard cards, would be a lot better for everyone. Now, it would have to fit in the laptop; but hey, it could be the future.

Actually most Nforce drivers include the graphic card driver since its an onboard chip. Why use 560 when you have a 610 chipset?
