Which one lip syncs less Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera? I can sing like them but I can tell you this I won't sound as amazing and trained as they are. When I get around to it I'll post it here on youtube.
The video proved even it's lip-sync, Mariah can do better than most of other artists (etc, Ashlee Simpson..) Man, that's one hell of stylish lip-sync perfomance.

Many performers have done this for several reasons such as throat problems, or because they may have larger performances to do, they try not to over use their vocals. Its also possible this was recorded to be used as a video performance. You can also see that there isn't a sign of vibrato or trembling in their throats too. Play the cd along with this and you'll realize how synched this was.
Oh one more thing to prove this is lip synched, pay attention at the very end at 3:07 and notice Mariah and Brian start clapping even though they're still completing the very last note.

Look on the CD credits for #1s. It lists Brian as ADDITIONAL BACKGROUNDS, because they just ADDED HIM TO MARIAH'S TRACK from the BUTTERFLY CD.

Then I'm sorry, but you're deaf if you think Mariah back then wasn't the best vocalist of all time. She is plainly the best, and will go down in history; easily beating out Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, etc.
