  • RIP Orta young

  • To you sugardaddy!....mwah...

  • love this song, it's from heaven...............

  • I just love this song. I get lost in a river of emotion each time I listen to it.

  • today's "singers" could learn a thing or two from Juice....

    what a voice....

  • incredible voice, great song---but they are one unattractive couple. . .

  • Gentle One This says it all I ADORE you

  • She should be way more popular than she is these days. She can outsing any of these young girls that occupy the charts these days. It's not even close.

  • I just saw her live tonight!

  • She has always had that voice which makes you cringe with feelings.

There is no song that helps me fall asleep like "Angel of the Morning".

  • This song is beautiful. I like it from the beginning to the end, as reading a lovely story book. Thank you for uploading it.

  • thanx for post'in this vid.

  • @biteme3times3 @cwebsterk LOL - that guy is Otha Young, who wrote "The Sweetest Thing" and was Juice's partner (life and business) for about 20 years. They broke up and got married to others but still made music together. He died a few years ago of cancer...

  • @biteme3times3 No kidding! He bears a resemblance to Richard Dreyfuss, but is even more unattractive. Thinking of waking up to him makes me sick.

  • i dedicate this song to phillip, mom loves u so very much

  • Juice also did a Country version of this too; She sings it in a slightly lower key, and it has a much slower tempo and a touch of steel guitar.. GREAT for s-l-o-w dancing. This one is somewhat more suited for something like roller skating. Cheers,.

  • This is how music videos used to look like.Take a look at whats on MTV these days and tell which is better,,. Never been much for horse cart rides in the park, but this looks waaay cool. GREAT song

  • This is my favorite song from Juice. Her voice is incredible on these notes. You can feel the meaning in her voice. One of my favorite songs of all time and I'm not even a big fan of country music!

  • When I first met my husband, he would play this song on the telephone first thing in the morning when he called me. He was living in KS and I was in NJ. This song kept me content throughout the day. It has now been 10 years and he still puts this song on the computer for me every morning before we leave for work.

  • AWESOME!

  • What an angelic voice! Still 1 of the most clean clear voices in the industry!

  • Oh my word... what a lovely song Otha & Juice gave us! It still brings tears to my eyes after nearly 30 years... Thank you.

  • Not just a great song !!!! A fantastc song by an amazingl talented lady

  • When hubby and I met (1981 and on) THIS was OUR song- many years many turmoils but the passion of this song- still tells of our love together- now married 25 years- hard to think this was 29 years ago- *smile*

  • This woman never made a bad recording. What a fantastic voice. What feeling!!!!!!!!

  • 2 you maria. wish u were mine for ever. but i understand.

  • The Taylor Swift of the 80s?

  • @shthd84 This is actually country, Taylor is a tone deaf pop princess

  • I love this song!!! I am so glad that something just jogged my memory about it. I am a hopeless romantic and have always been, as a little girl I always dreamd my prince would come and when I listened to songs like this I would think about dancing like Cinderella. Now I am finally marrying the love of my life in June and this song will be played at our reception.

  • i'm a black guy and i like country music...

  • @Kellogs43able I'm White and I like Funk / Soul music and old Mo town like Sam Cooke and James Brown. Now, If I only had some rhythm....... May I borrow A cup?

  • you have to remember cwebsterk when this was made videos were just in their infancy, this after all is 1982 not 2010, videos did not really come into their own until the mid 90's and got better from there, to what we have today in HDSS

  • I'll grab it and just turn it into an mp3

  • I am totaly convinced that no body else could posably do this song like Juice can. I love this song.

  • Is this videoed at NY's cental park??

  • Simply magnficent!

  • One of the best written songs ever. Juce's performance of the song is haunting. Love it this is true talent

  • This was my wedding song on 1 May 1982. It still brings back those crazy feelings.

  • I woke up with this song in my head this morning. It has beautiful lyrics, and can sum up the way I feel about my husband.

  • first time i've heard this song in over twenty years and it's still cool....

  • wonderful song. juice was the shit!!

  • I only saw her live once. It was a charity concert in Carson City for Lacy J Dalton's fight for the wild horses of Nevada. It was one of the best performances I have ever seen, and I've seen alot. She truely is one very classy lady with a whole lot of talent.

  • I recently heard this song on the radio, and couldnt remember the singer. This would be a good song for my daughter to sing and play on her guitar. I had forgotten about this song!

  • Great song! Features the late great Otha Young!!! Mark you are a super fan! Paul Fowler JNFC.

  • I dedicate this song to my Husband of 28 yrs.The sweetest thing I've known is LOVING YOU....I've have been afraid of Losing ya,I know that when I'm with you,you make me feel like I'm the most special woman on the face of the earth. Thanks Frank....I LOVE YA BABY........

  • crappy video. brilliant song.

  • gorgeous song. woman singing in full voice. i was a teen when i first heard this, and thirty years later it still resounds in my head. did i mention gorgeous?

  • forget about the video and blocking it out. close your eyes and think of the loved ones you have lost the song takes on a whole new meaning. this song i love dearly though it is a double edge sword

  • I had a 45 of this song and practically wore it out! Love this song and Juice's voice singing it.

  • My grandad passed away early this morning and this is the song he's chosen to have played at his funeral for my nanna. These are his words to her.

Rest in peace my beautiful, kind, gentle grandad. Finally succumbed to cancer- 11th April 2010.

  • I am so very sorry fluffymum. My thoughts to you and your family. Grandparents are the backbone of the family and when they are gone...everything falls apart. I lost my grandparents 20 years ago but when I thought of them, I cry. They are truly missed.

  • @fluffymum101 I just wanted to give my sincere condolences on the loss of your grandad . I have lost my brother, father and mother in a span of 8 yrs. The loss of my mother is still fresh (Dec. '09) This is such a beautiful song....has been one of my all time favorites since it was released. Was brought to tears seeing her sing it live. It is usually on my list of songs to sing whenever I go out to do karaoke.

  • That voice can melt the polar ice caps!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My mother's lullaby to me, the happy memories while listening to this made me cry. Thanks for posting :)

  • Love, love, love this song. I had a 45 of this that I wore out!

  • Her voice is same at Linda Rondstandt....

  • we'll be sponging off you before long, blackhawk.

  • ur all a bunch of old crazy people

  • Take care my friend

  • I will too my friend, all we can do now is pray,

  • Just beautiful is the only way to describe this song and vid and juice's voice :)

  • Saw her at Chautauqua Institution on Chautauqua Lake sometime in the early 80's.

What ever happened to her anyway ?

    Great voice

  • I get so sad when i think of this song and these times in the 80's.

    I know why.

We were cool and we had the heart and soul of all the years of rock. pop. country Jazz, blues. We really believed in LOVE.....

    God bless us 80's kids!!!

  • I was stationed in the U.S. Air Force in 1981 and 1982 and I remember Juice on AFN radio in Germany. Brings back great memories

  • My sweet lady and I loved this song when we married back in 1982...Thank you so much for this fine video. My lady and I enjoyed it

  • @kingpin1960 That is so sweet. I love to hear stuff like that.

  • Guys i can tell u this video is sooo nice, oldies are goldies,it suits the times

  • Hahaha. It starts like the opening to The Jeffersons.

  • great song,great voice.NICE ONE JUICE

  • MTV began in August of 1981. It is amazing that this video even exist. We are lucky to have it. Thank you markdc20005 for posting it!

  • I believe the video was made around 1980, they didn't have the technology back then that thye do now.

  • this video is in very poor quality

  • This video isn't good enough for this song.

  • She was just ten feet away from me in 1980.

  • Great song, great voice. Juice Newton is one of my favorites. Classic. Wish we'd here more from her these days.

  • An absolutely beautiful song!!! kj

  • OMG! What a beautiful song! What a beautiful voice.....what a HORRIBLE video! Video has ruined music...and here's your proof. Close your eyes and listen to this without looking at the video. Anyway, thanks for uploading this! I'd forgotten about Juice. That lady could sing!

  • LOL.. yeah.. its not the best video.. but it was the 3rd one off the album so I guess they kept it low budget. :)

  • @markdc20005 Yeeeesh, these days some artists will spend more than $1 million on producing a video. In 1980's dollars, that's probably closer to $2 million. Can you imagine that?

  • I agree. Just making a good record is a phenomenally difficult task. To then have the additional burden of making a short film to go with it is ridiculous. Plus, some of us look better on radio.

That said, there have been a few artists who have risen to the challenge of making a music video into a work of art, such as Johnny Cash with "Hurt". But you honestly have to be as good as Johnny Cash to pull it off, and people like that are extremely rare.

  • @cwebsterk You have to take into consideration of how long ago that was man I feel old, but you are right just close your eyes and listen. LOL

I use to feel this way up until a few weeks ago and I still do down deep. I love that man if he only knew just how much.

  • @cwebsterk Video killed the radio star!

  • @HonorableMinisterRay damn right....video killed pop music, thank god for gems like this.....where the music mattered and the videos were just for "fun"

  • @cwebsterk loll, you are right, what a horrible video!!!

  • @cwebsterk you are 100% correct! geat song, horrible video!

  • @cwebsterk Yeah the video sucks! Love the song but hate the video!! =/

  • by far the most beautiful voice i've ever heard. love ya juice and thanks for all of the joy you've brought to my life!!!!!

  • Such a cute video. I love her and her great hair and voice. Beautiful girl. The guy is so adorable, love him !!!!

  • If Anjelica Huston, Shelly Duval, and Lisa Kudrow had a baby, it would look like Juice. Lol.

Anyway, I love her voice-it's so pure and refreshing sounding. I love so many of her songs. :)

  • mi cancion!!!

la baile solamente con el amor de mi vida en los 80s

    jeejjje

  • I had forgotten about her til a friend sent me this link. What a gorgeous voice! Much like Jennifer Warnes and Linda Ronstadt in the 70's. They don't make em like this anymore.

  • A spectacular classic from one of the classiest performers to ever grace any stage, and she continues to get better with age. Simply marvelous.

  • This so kicks ass! Nothing like going back in time 17 years and reliving the simpler times.

  • Actually it's 27 years!

  • just my denial of getting older shining through

  • @markdc20005 That's what the world looked like 27 years ago!!! I was there!

  • Voice of an angel..

  • Stupendous!!!

  • love you, juice.

  • Beautiful song by a talented voice. One of the 80s best songs & it's my favorite Juice Newton song and definitely Juice's best!

  • This is a most beautiful song I have ever heard. She sure nails it.

  • NYC?

  • to Markdc20005: I am 73 yrs. old and have seen a lot of artist come and go without any regrets, but I sure am glad I will go before Juice. What a voice - I will never tire of listening to her...thanks for the posting

  • to:Markdc: I know she has won awards, but she did touch on the rotton way she was treated and what a rough business she was in. They about told her she was yesterdays news. They were sure wrong - her Hurt video blows me away. What a voice she has - Great!

  • Yep - totally agree. I was just thinking about how Juice's peers (who the "industry" fawned over in the 1980s) have all faded away while Juice continues to maintain a solid career. I'd rather have a moderately successful long-term career like Juice instead of being a white-hot flash in the pan like those others. I've been a Juice fan since 1981 and there aren't many other artists who have been around for even half that time! :)

  • @markdc20005 Agreed. A friend and I saw her in concert some 20 - 25 years ago. Great concert. People laughed when I told them I was going. They missed a good concert.

  • I was just reading the comments you and markdc2005 were exchanging, and I thought you both have sound reason. I guess the same happened to John Denver who I think is one of the best American singers for all. Yes, of course there are Sinatra, Elvis and others. As to Juice, she was a success here in Brazil in those days when songs were songs with lyrics not offensive to our souls, and not that garbage as hip hop.

  • I finally got to see this star in person and was really surprised at how tiny she is. She can really belt out a song. Growing up in the 40's & 50's, I thought I was too much of a nerd for the music of her time, but my son introduced me to a few of her songs and I was hooked. What a voice and what a crime that she has been treated so badly by the industry. This girl is a talent.

  • Yeah - she never seemed to get as much attention as her peers, maybe it was because she lived in LA and the country industry is in Nashville... But still, she has a couple gold and platinum albums, 5 Grammy nominations and 1 win (for Break it to me gently) all in a 3-decade career... so she's not done too badly!

  • wow! she truely is a talent! how she holds those notes.. comparable to martina mcbride and a striking similar sound to stevie nix

  • Some of the country 'stars' of today could sure learn a thing or two from truly talented artists like this.

  • Even after all these years, her voice still gives me the shivers. Her music is timeless.

  • She still is my sweetest thing and always will be.

  • it's beautiful! thank you!

  • great song...thank you so much

  • damn i miss the 80's! a time of innocence! this song hit the top 40 charts on 11-7-81 and stayed on the charts for 18 weeks peaking at # 7!

  • I miss the 80's too! the music had heart

  • terrific song

  • 26 years later it still sounds just as good! Gotta love early 80's video technology though. ;-)

  • Those guys in the back, they look like The Dillards or Pure Prarie League. Straight- cracker ass country. Very strong...

  • The 80's. Some of it was bad, then I remember songs like this. This is amazing work.

  • what a beautiful song :)

  • This song will always be a favorite for me. You sing it girl

  • I'm so happy to see so many people still talking about and loving this song! Juice has such beautiful powerful vocals, and always will be one of my favorites.

  • Amen Paulina

  • te amo saudi nunca te olvidare

  • i love for ever saudi

  • teamo y note olvido saudi

  • The freshmaker!

  • I love this song, she is awesome. The lyrics touch the soul

  • This video starts out like a mentos ad.

  • sings like a bird, is there a prettier voice in this world

  • no words could ever replace how i felt. The beautiful memories, times & this song, thank Juice.

  • Such a beautifull woman, and wonderfull song..

  • My late girlfriend Gretchen and I had songs for each other. This was the song that she chose. Ever since she passed away whenever I hear this song it just tears my heart out because how sweet is it for someone to say that the sweetest thing they ever knew was loving you. Gets me every time.

  • True love is never gone - it's always with us in our hearts. It's bitter sweet to remember how much a special song has meant. This is a beautiful song and says so much more than mere words could say. Juice makes it really special with her lovely voice and her style. - Paula

  • I love this song.

  • Very pretty song. My ex-husband introduced me to her music. One of the good things that came out of the marriage.

  • In Africa I saw this clip in black and white. We didn't have a colored TV. It's a song of good memory. In the evenings other kids come to our house to watch the TV. We were young and happy.

  • i love u juice

  • The clips a bit dodgey, but oooooh that voice, I melt....

  • Over the years I have played in several bands and at one point we played five Juice & Otha tunes in our shows. That has only been repeated in our shows with tunes by Shania Twain and Terri Clark -- clearly after the magnificent Juice Newton.

    With admiration, Guitarist

  • Thanks Juice, and thanks Mark for posting this. Damn, I'm gettin' old!

  • It's a Shame (for us) Juice sacrificed her career to raise a family her way... But what she gave us was plenty!!!!

  • what...you expect her to be a spinster all her life being unhappy just to make us happy? Get a life! She's ain't Oprah!

  • Aw, this is my parents song. I've never heard it until now. It's very beautiful. <3

  • as barry bonds would say, i love juice! i think the the lyrics speak about my life. damn she has a sweet voice.

  • Juice Newton has a voice like an angel....I dont think there is a chord she cant hit with that awesome voice...

  • Great song, brings back some memories. You're right about her nailing this song vocally. Awesome!!

  • Born Judy Kay Cohen on 2/18/52 in Lakehurst, NJ. Juice Newton originally recorded this song in 1975 but was a flop. She re-released it in 1981 and climbed to #7 on the Billboard Pop chart, #1 country hit as well as hitting #1 on the AC chart that same year.

Juice Newton can nail this song vocally like no one else can. Way to go, Juice!!!!!!!

  • Love this Song..

  • This was the song we had sung at our wedding. We had both been divorced. Our marriage didn't last. To this day, this song still breaks my heart. And no one can or will ever sing it better than Juice Newton.

  • Takes me back...love your voice Juice!

  • this reminds me back home in the Philippines...........music makes man sentimental,a food to his soul, ain't it?

  • makes me wanna cry

  • I don't know why but I can see martina mcbride remake this beautiful song? Who's with me?

  • While I love Martina McBride and she is a powerhouse singer, Juice Newton was one when there weren't that many and still is. Other people may sing her music but there's only one JUICE NEWTON. She has a way of singing beautiful songs that can tear your heart out, then turns around and hits you with Queen of Hearts or Love's Been a Little Bit Hard on me. It's great to hear her anytime. Keep on Juice'n!!!

  • Beautiful words and music........

  • IF I was ever to re-marry this would be my song !!!!!!!

  • Great singer!!!!!!!!!

  • I had a cassette of her music as a kid and I destroyed it by playing it too much...

Maybe it's time I invested in a CD...

  • Naw....don't do that...that's so....futuristic...get 8-track!

  • I really love a good slow song, and this one ranks right up their with the best of them.

  • I always dreamt of hearing this song again. Thanx for posting it.
