It is indeed a very peaceful place. I was able to go to Aztec Ruins this past summer, but the monsoon rains prevented me from getting to Chaco. 20 miles of mud road is not condusive to a pleasant trip with my wife and son. I hope to get there this coming fall.
@scheming8rythem I too live very close to the chaco canyon park.. Ive visited very recently but heard there were some off limit petroglyphs depicting a reptilian humanoid with decapitated warriors from the chacoan society.. Are these the ruins you speak of?
@scheming8rythem - I am so glad that people don't go there anymore. Maybe both land and ruins can remain sacred. Thank you for stopping in and sharing this. :)
Thank you Robin for all the great pictures and your flute going along to bring it all to life. I was there a couple of years ago with my hen 13 year old daughter Dakota. There sure is a special feeling there and a wonder of what life was like living there so very many years ago, difficult for sure. Thanks again, Len, Ct.
I finally visited Chaco last week. I have wanted to go ever since I saw the video by Robert Redford. Like desertsurvivalist said, photos do not do it justice. I will go back with the grandkids. Thanks!!
Dear Richard, I'm SO happy you got to see this in person. The pictures can't even begin to capture this ancient place. Pics not only don't capture the look of the place but they don't even come close to capturing the feel of Chaco. To be there at sunrise & sunset & see the varied light & shadows, to hear the birds & lizards & look through windows that that others looked through hundreds of years ago is beyond words. What gift you will give your grandkids. Thank you 4 sharing. It's appreciated.
Lovely pic of the petroglyphs and the flower detail. I love the music, your flute Robin is very sweet, thanks for sharing. Chaco canyon is certainly one of the most spiritual places one can visit in a life time... Cheers
Dear Bothropsasper, Thank you for your very kind words. they touched me. I too just LOVE this place and will return many times. As you know, it's not really about just seeing the dwelings; there is such strong presence here still imprinted in the rock and earth, the whole area. As you say it is a spiritual place. One senses they are standing on the ground of a very rich culture filled with wisdom & connection to Earthy. Thank you. :)
Hi Rick, What a joy to see you here. Yes, this place is beyond word. I doubt I could describe it to someone, not the feel of it, but my photos and flute music help. But even they don't come close to capturing the ancient feel of Chaco. Thank you my friend for all your generous encouragement. It is apprecaited.
Hi Desert Survivalist, So glad to meet you. Chaco Canyon is a MUST. I've seen it more than once & it's never enough, & no pictures could possibly do it justice. None. There is an energy both in the land and in the culture. You will LOVE it. Thank you for taking the time to let me know about your videos and work. Exciting stuff.
I love this video! Awesome job...I have never been to Chaco Canyon but I have been planning a trip soon. I have always herd that the pictures can do it no justice compared to how beautiful it is to stand and see it in person.
My dear dear friend, I'm SO touched to see u here. Doubly touched that this moved u to tears. I had tears when I visited this place. I came home changed. It stayed with me for weeks...forever. I've no doubt that you'd LOVE this place. It is soooo U. I actually thought of u when sitting up on that cliff, (last photo). I really did. I WILL invite you next time & if you can't go I'll take you w/me in spirit. :) I know u'd cry 2 if u saw this. Thk u for being my forever friend. Love & hugs, Robin
Next time you plan to go to the Chaco Canyon, I expect an invite! Deal? lol! I was in tears watching this piece.... it encapsulates everything I adore about the world around us, and the music is intoxicating also. I am going to have to end this comment now, as I want to go back and watch it again..... and again and again and......... :o)
Hi Porsalainheart, How exciting that you also have been to Chaco. I agree it really is a spiritual place. So much so that I don't think it can all be taken in in one visit. I hope to go back this summer. I'm so glad you appreciated it's ancient spiritual wisdom.
Hi Dear henry, I love this comment as I had these exact thoughts (and feelings). It truly is a powerful knock-your-socks-off place. I am changed every time I go there. Thank you dear friend. Robin xox :) PS I also love how your spirit sees this. That touches me.
Lovely video and a wonderful ancient place. I think of all those people, long gone (but maybe still around) and all the hopes and fears they had. Young people in love, old people with their grandchildren...
Oh PeacefulWalks, you do indeed honor me. I am touched. I love playing the Native American flute. I find it so haunting and timeless. Peaceful. Thank you for your kind words.
Wow! This is hauntingly lovely. You live in a beautiful part of the country. I hope I get to see it sometime. I don't get on YouTube often but I've been enjoying your videos and Naked in Eden website. Thank you
