In Halo: Combat Evolved, the M6D Magnum is probably the only gun that I won't drop for any other weapons. I would gladly let my friend take the sniper rifle, shotgun, or rocket launcher if that means I get to take his magnum ammo.
I think the choices in Starcraft 2 are terrible because there is no morality involved. The game retcons its backstory based on your decisions so that you are infallible. If you choose to distrust a certain character (forgot the name) he turns out to be a terrorist, but if you choose to trust him, he's one of the good guys.
So, really, Starcraft 2 is incredibly silly in that regard.
for that last question, i think that games being realistic is a good idea but when its too realistic its too hard. like when you said that you regenerate on CoD, yes thats not realistic but the game would be too hard without it. i think that you need an even balance with it being real or not.
i remember sucker punch saying that imfamous 2 that there was less black and white and just chaos and order but no ice was good and fire was evil. only at the very end did it switch it up.
You can be In a party with people over level 20 but you can't start your own parties also it's not hard to find a dungeon with the dungeon finder but only if you are a tank or healer
Theres a big reason the pistol in C2 is a primary, if the pistol is silenced its a huge advantage while cloaked, 5 shots in the head, dead unseen. Thats my play experience at least because i use it quite often.
With the pistol in Crysis 2, if you use the silencer and stealth enhance you can shoot a good 3-5 shots when in stealth mode, and since head shots are usually instant kills it can be fairly situational.
The "realism" is what makes games like Call of Duty, Modern Warfare, the newer Ghost Recon and all "stealth" games so bad, at least if you are into some form of paced games that a turtle and/or a snail cannot keep up with.
In regards to the last question, I have to say, some games can really get away with some sense of realism but still implement different weapon systems in the game. Look at Homefront, for example. In multiplayer, you can hold your primary, your secondary (pistol), and can then buy new things as you progress through the match, such as RPGs to shoot vehicles. I have to give credit to some games who use multiple weapons. They're really solid, but don't take away from the experience at all.

Morality's kinda iffy... I like the ideas they have in Fallout. There's usually a lot of ways to go about things.... You can be the freakin' devil if you wanted, and the game rewards you for that with different evil perks and such. Be a saint and make a lot of friends, rewards. Be a mercenary, and the caps will flow.
On the subject of genre, what would you call games like elder scrolls, they are obviously an RPG, but it's also FP without the S, I can't think of what that is called.

12:00 What's funny is that in Call of Duty 4 you were able to carry an Assault rifle, a shotgun, a RPG, and a pistol at the same time. How? Easy what you do is you have the overkill perk giving you your assault rifle and shotgun, the RPG perk, and the last stand perk.
I always have issue with games that require you to be "extreme"(friendship/rivalry, paragon/renegade, good/evil...etc) to get bonus abilities. Sometime I just want to be neutral, but I get punished for playing the way I want to play!

I cant agree with you entirely on Bioware. In Kotor, the choices were very good imo, albeit black and white. But, that makes sense in the SW universe, Jedi vs Sith. You were either one, you played as Luke or Darth Vader wannabes. If you had the choice to be some sort of Han Solo, then some grey-areas might've been decent. But for a force-based jedi? Nah.
Oh, and DragonAge Origins was excellent on the moral aspects in the story.

There are tons of games that are unrealistic and have mediocre graphics, but still are damn addictive, because they have a good gameplay. Good gameplay is what makes games the most fun and increases the longevity the most.

I can't agree with you more about your view on morality in gaming. Morality is almost never treated properly--far too many want to paint things as black and white instead of realistically.
It reminds me of a rather old game...Lands of Lore II: Guardians of Destiny. Action RPG that had a definite good and evil ending, but you could do a whole lot of the "evil" acts and still get a good ending because there was no such thing as neutral. A perfect example of how NOT to handle morality.
excuse the terrible reference but your rant on good and evil on infamous 2 kinda reminds me of sonic adventure 2 battle in the chao garden in the sense that you have to choose one oblique path of choices with no real impact giving you dark/holy powers, however the neutral path goes for mere asthetics.
The problem with having a more in-depth morality system than just a red/blue bar is content. Warren Spector & company wanted to present the final three choices from Deus Ex to the player much earlier and have the rest of the game after the player's choice be almost completely different, until they realized that meant they were effectively making three games. So they moved it to the very end.
@PacGamer and they were separated, now when you buy the original wow, you get TBC for free, even though the price is kinda the same when you would buy the two in a battlechest lol

I remember played Savage 1 and 2, both great games though I kinda felt the slipped up with Savage 2. So many of the Save player base tried Savage 2 and just ended up going back to Savage 1, as it had the power of mods.
Wrong mr. biscuit! In crysis 2 there is a reason to carry a pistol instead of an assault rifle, because while cloaked, you can fire the silenced pistol 5-6 times before running out of energy, whereas the silenced assault rifle drains all of your energy after 2-3 shots.

The problem with having a more in-depth morality system than just a red/blue bar is content. Warren Spector & company wanted to present the final three choices from Deus Ex to the player much earlier and have the rest of the game after the player's choice be almost completely different, until they realized that meant they were effectively making three games. So they moved it to the very end.

TB in inFAMOUS 2 you don't have to kill the street preformers you can kill civilians or drain the life from the Militia. You can do tat instead but if you think its bad its your choice :)

I remember played Savage 1 and 2, both great games though I kinda felt the slipped up with Savage 2. So many of the Save player base tried Savage 2 and just ended up going back to Savage 1, as it had the power of mods.

Wrong mr. biscuit! In crysis 2 there is a reason to carry a pistol instead of an assault rifle, because while cloaked, you can fire the silenced pistol 5-6 times before running out of energy, whereas the silenced assault rifle drains all of your energy after 2-3 shots.
