  • I...I...I love this.

  • You look like a washed up hipster/LGBT youth activist.

  • Och aye the noo! We'd love to have you here in Scotland, as I'm sure you've gathered from the comments. Is it particularly Edinburgh you have in your heart? Even if you end up somewhere else in Scotland you'd never be that far away, and a huge number of people commute between Glasgow and Edinburgh every day. The journey is rarely more than an hour each way if you particularly want to live in one city but can only get work in the other.

I hope you find something you love doing!

  • @gadbeebe Excuse me if this comment is a bit behind the times. I just realised this video isn't quite as recent as I originally thought.

  • Haha, so true about Doctor Who focusing so much on Western Europe. I realize it's a British show, but still... Though I suppose this season they're branching out a bit from that (it being set in America; which, while Western, is at least on a different continent). All the same, how about the Doctor goes to Space Asia or something? That could fun. :)

  • @followingbutterflys Didn't he go to Space Asia in that one episode with Donna called Turn Left? Back when David Tennant was the Doctor. -sigh-

  • tu parles assez bien francais but you have to work on your huge accent (btw girls love it!) my litleadvise is too watch some french news on youtube ''france 24'' (/user/france24) Finaly i whould love to see you in dr who as hes assistant!

  • sorry, the occupation of companion is already full- seeing as I- Romanadevoratrelundar(Romana for short) already have that job you will sadly have to wait of have a past or future version of The Doctor take you up on that offer. :)

  • you amaze me :D

  • THIS VID HAD 1337 VIEWS

  • I did laugh out loud. thank ya

  • Oh my, you are amazing. You're officially in my hug bucket, though most of the world is, save for creepy old guys and smelly people. :D

  • We can be friends yes?

Or well... yeah, I hope your application get's accepted :P

I'd tell you there was job openings at any of the high schools/colleges/sixth forms near me but i'm not actually aware of any... So i'm no help there D: sorry!

  • I realize that this application was meant to go to the Doctor if he was real... but I would LOVE to see you on the show!

  • I will hate you for the rest of my life if you became the doctor's companion :P

  • Please come and live next door to me in the U.K.! We can drink tea, constantly speculate about doctor who and you can become my music teacher at my school :)

  • Wouldn't it be awesome if the doctor was a girl?

  • If you ended up as a companion, I may have to poison you out of sheer petty jealousy.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, Fizzy, but at least the newest breed of Doctors (9-11) seem to only want female companions. BUT I'll bet if you get yourself a sassy and hot British girlfriend, then you can tag along as the "Tin Dog" character. Better than nothing, right? ;-D

  • Where's the attached resume?!?

I will note, Social Media Marketing is not entirely what it sounds like, however I'm sure you would be able to pick it up fast. If you are applying for those jobs, a strong understanding of their current and target audience would be important to show you have knowledge of. An ability to engage that audience in and around the product or service an organization is sell is a little more difficult then it sounds. (This also depends on the scope of the company.)

  • It would be the greatest job- until they wiped your mind or something!

I live in Scotland- you should move to Scotland, then we can be friends and it will be glorious! Although I guess we could be friends without you having to move!

  • @mymarblesandme Yeah those Silents are looking pretty threatening right now... I'm holding out for hope that these episodes are actually in the past and they're not something I'd have to deal with.

We can totally be friends without my moving! But, you know, moving would be a nice part.

  • @fizzylimon Awesome! I love getting new friends! Especially new youtube friends!

  • Amazing.

I really hope you manage to find a job soon! Best of Luck :)

  • @xxxamydollxxx They're not very far apart, so if I show up in Edinburgh you can defintiely come and if I end up in Edinburgh and go to Glasgow you'd probably know about it :D

  • @britcreature13 I may bring a camera one day or another, when I'm no longer obligated to be professional around you guys ;)

  • @Aaweth French the Llama was a Project for Awesome 2009 joke that I'm not sure many people get anymore. John (of the vlogbrothers) was on a live webcam show and didn't know what FTL meant (everyone was writing like "worldsuck ftl" or something) and he thought it stood for "french the llama." He tried to make it a real interjection, and hilarity ensued.

Also you should watch DW because I said so and congrats on graduating!

Also thanks for commenting because I love smart comments like this :)

  • I think you would be a great addition to Europe. :)

  • Congratulations on graduating!

  • Can we be best friends?

  • @samfitz9 I'm quite easy to be friends with, but "best" is slightly more difficult. However, with your enthusiasm, I'm sure you'd be a fine contender. I'll have my friend-secretary forward you the paperwork and let you know if a slot opens up for interview ;)

  • YES.

  • Hey wait a minute. If you were contacted last tuesday, you wouldn't have to make the video since you already knew the answer, but If you weren't contacted you would also know the answer (which would be 'no') so you wouldn't have to make this video. HOW CAN THIS VIDEO EXIST?

  • @xway2 History can be changed.

Also, I had a really good explanation earlier this afternoon for this comment and I can't remember what it was.

  • @xway2 @fizzylimon Future Doctor contacted you last Tuesday, made you the companion, and told you to make a video resume for Past Doctor to see that would result with your becoming the companion.

  • Yay, Flight of the Conchords! As a Kiwi, I respect that 8].

  • LMBO. Oh Steve. #facepalm This was great! :]

  • One area you are not highly skilled in is being female. You could always apply for being friend/boyfriend/husband of companion though.

  • @missqueeniestea There have been other male companions who didn't get the position through romance! Not recently, of course, but if you look at the old seasons, they definitely existed.

  • Are you by any chance Scottish? Most people I know want to go because they are in some way Scottish (that's why my sisters went, then again our last name is Scottish)

  • @lovejuicy87 Actually I am! My last name is an Americanisation of my Scottish clan (Johnstone.) I don't know if that has anything to do with my desire to live there... it just feels like home to me.

  • @fizzylimon That's very interesting, I didn't know "Johnstone" was even a clan! But if I could I would live their and find if I have any long relatives there. Supposedly (and by that I mean is most likely true), my family was excommunicated (that's right I'm getting all Martin Luther on you) because we stole sheep even though it was a common practice during that era.

  • @lovejuicy87 Haha yeah we were apparently known for stealing cattle, but it turns out that like three Lowland clans essentially shared cattle because of the way they just stole it back and forth. We were quite honorable though... according to ourselves XD

  • That was simply amazing!!! =D

  • lmao, This is the best thing ever. :D

  • You win. I would choose you.

  • @shaylaluna I am not a Pokemon :P

  • @fizzylimon I didn't even realize I made that reference. Now, I will declare that you are!

  • Come to London and teach here! I think you fall perfectly in to a stereotypical music teacher here :P

  • @Lyndabb13 Haha I actually see a lot of myself in Gareth Malone, which makes me tend to agree with you ;)

  • haha, je peux commenter en français alors ?

  • @louf66 Mais oui! Je regrette que je ne peux rien dire qui faut les accents parce que mon ordinateur ne peux pas les mettre dans les commentaires ici. Quel dommage!

  • This just made my day.

  • Think you have a chance? Time will tell. But it had better be soon The Doctor is almost out of regenerations ... or is he?

  • Congrats on graduating! :)

And personally, I would love to have you as a partner. Unfortunately, however, I am on my own path to become a Starship Ranger. Perhaps we will run into each other somewhere in the Universe.

  • I understood what you said in French! Thank you American school system, for once you havent failed me! :D

  • @mollyollypops Tres bien!

...Malheureusement, mon ordinateur ne me laisse pas mettre les accents dans les commentaires YouTubes, alors il semble que je ne sais pas m'en servir. Je le sais! Je le sais!

  • And THAT is why I love you.

  • One thing i noticed, The sonic screwdriver isn't Gallifreyan technology :p he got it from Argos but otherwise AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!!!!!! ... I want to be his companion toooooooooo!

  • @helloitsmasterhulk Touche!

  • Where is the attached resume?

  • @elle13celley That's what i was thinking! lol. We want to read your business! ha

  • @elle13celley It would be attached to the cover letter, silly. I'm not about to send out all that personal info to the internet in general ;)

  • wow, you have mad credentials. I think though, that if I were to apply for an intergalactic position, it would be aboard The Serenity.

  • yes.

you are obviously the front runner here.

  • You totally have this job in the bag.

  • I seriously died when you said Edinburgh. I live within twenty minutes of Edinburgh and my evil music teacher of the last two years is retiring at the end of the year. Come and teach at my school so I can fangirl you! I mean, pass I2 music...Playing the cello and the ukulele...

  • @puglish Haha if you can get me the job, then yes!

  • I checked the description for a link to the full resume and there's nothing there, I'm disappointed. You would make an awesome traveling companion, hope you here back from him. And congrats on graduating!

  • Unfortunatly you're not a cute british girl that dads can enjoy so I think its gunna be a rejection...sorry

  • @ICOEPRproductions He's had male companions before! Even male companions who were not in any sense related to the female companions!

  • @fizzylimon Dude, as if I didn't know. Haha, I'm British, I used to watch Doctor Who on VHS way before the days of 2005 (so totally hipster!). Male companions have included Harry Sulivon, Adric, Mickey Smith, Jack Harkness and Rory Williams (and thats without a Google search). Trust me, I normally quite dislike hipsters but if theres one thing I truely defend with all my worth its Doctor Who (I've also met the entire cast and set of writers/directors at the Cardiff Convension): Title defended ;)

  • how funny and amazing it would be if the doctor would land in your house and take you away with him?

  • @iliveonplanetspace I would probably pass out and then wake up inside the TARDIS and say something stupid like "bigger on the inside" and then I'd be like "all right, let's get to business."

  • also, congratulations on graduating and good luck finding a job! i hope that wherever you end up you're happy (and somewhere where you can continue to make awesome videos). :]

  • First a Harry Potter video. Now a Doctor Who video. You never FTBA.

  • I mean, yeah, yeah, it's all great that you want to travel with the Doctor, but let's be real here, Steve: you're a boy. You're not a bumbling husband of a hot ginger, or a super studly cosmic bisexual. You're a (talented) music playing boy. The Doctor doesn't travel with boys. :P And can you even run? Pshhhhh.

Am I right, guys? Am I right?

LOLOL. Troll'd ur dreems Johnson, wut now? (<3)

  • @kassiehp0593 The doctor has had other male companions in the past, but you wouldn't know that, newbie :P

  • @fizzylimon Oh, man. Roasted by Steve. Pshh. I understand that you liked that band before I liked that band. :P

  • CONGRATS ON GRADUATION TOMORROW! :D Also, I think you have a shot.

  • Do you happen to have some interesting and probably terrrifying backstory that has yet to be fully resovled? Also, how's your screamng?

  • @Virini I can make one up, and perfectly resonant, thank you ;)

  • You speak French very well! and it was easily understandable. Why your preference for Edinburgh? I can't believe you're allowed to teach after 3 years of uni only. I would be required to have a Master's degree.

  • @TheGodOfPegana 4 years of uni, actually. I only vlogged during 3 of them, though, haha.

As for why I love Edinburgh, I visited in 2007 and it seriously just felt like home. I enjoyed everything about it, and not in that rapturous adventuresome way, but in that "Everything is right and there is nothing wrong and I could stop here and be perfectly happy" kind of way.

  • @fizzylimon I enjoyed it in 2006...in that "rapturous adventuresome way." I wish I could - not live there but- be an eternal tourist there. Living there would kill the fun for me. It really is somewhere special. My favourite part of the UK for sure!

  • Congratulations!! I graduate tomorrow also! w00t! And lovely video. Thoughts on the new season? Freaky river-amy-doctor baby? lol

  • @LAshlieH First two episodes were wonderful... the last one was confusingly not-so-wonderful. I may need a video to post my opinions, haha

  • you forgot to include your running skills. you can't be a good companion if you can't run!

  • @cheeruppirate Oooh! do I get a second chance?

  • Oh my gosh. I love you so much. In the least creepy way possible.

  • Love it!

Although, I probably shouldn't be so supportive since we appear to be in competition for the same job now... I thought I had the advantage since I am both a female and feisty, but I cannot compete with your facial expression portfolio ;)

Seriously, though, congrats on graduating and best of luck with the job search! I'm looking for a job, too, so I understand the need to look in the global and galactic markets.

  • @MisplacedPirate Well you'd better watch out, then. *snaps as entourage gathers around and walks off dramatically*

  • Well, if you can be flexible on your definition of "last Tuesday", I think you could be a shoo-in!

(by the way, there are a few companies dealing strictly with online news-media in the UK, one of which I will be interning at this summer; one of the skills needed for this kind of media is vlogging, so you might want to look into something like that!)

  • @MidnightArticuno Could you possibly send me info therein? That sounds... like... awesome.

  • Don't take Amy's job

  • how do you say braggart in french? oh here it is... MATAMORE!!

  • yes. Best application I have seen so far :)

  • This is excellent. I wish you all the best in your job search. I had a similar plan for myself after college, but it didn't work out, and months went by, I ended up having to take a job out-of-state (and in one of the states that everyone makes fun of, not in NY or CA). I suggest enlisting the help of all of your contacts in the UK. It's hard to find a company that's willing to hire a foreigner they've never met who isn't even living in the country yet and who will require paperwork.

  • @aIIesanders I'm applying like crazy to recruiting agencies and such to see if anyone is willing to help. I might start to talk to my compatriots' parents to see about what I can possibly get from them... ahh, networking, making me feel simultaneously sleazy and grateful for my friends.

  • If you get this job, you must come visit me! I'll expect you outside my door yesterday morning :D

  • @xperpetualmotion I'll add it to my calendar.

  • win! <3

good luck with the job search!

  • This is so awesome. This is why I love this channel. Good luck on the job hunt!

  • "By hologram last Tuesday at 5 pm" Ahh, stable time loops.

  • This wins on so many levels.

    You're awesome!

  • You're just what I'm looking for.

  • @alaninnh Haha probably the best comment on the video yet XD

  • hmmm... how do you feel about the prospect of an awful lot of running?

  • @justinhabit I am in favor. It's good for the heart.

  • comment

  • I love this so much.

  • I over approve your application. All the companion requirements were indeed met

Hopefully you do in fact obtain a awesome career. Cheers! :)

  • Oh my God... I'm so sorry, but I got the companionship.

  • @jocelynallday NO! *runs away to find some alien technology and become the next villain, if only to swear a vendetta against you*

  • If you would vlog your journey on the job, you have my vote!

  • @ntcssj It would definitely make uploading a bit of a chore. I'd have to return to the present every time I made a video and be sure to upload them in chronological order. Time travel can make vlogging quite difficult XD

  • You. Are. Awesome!!!!!

  • Does this mean that you won't get to take your morning walk every day? I hope that wherever you go, you can find time to do something similar. Best of luck in the job hunt,

    Shannon : )

  • @RancidAppleProducts I'll be doing plenty of running to make up for it, haha

  • So...too bad you didn't get the job.

  • Congrats on graduating!!!!

  • There's actually an audio drama that was released last year featuring the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) in which he hold job interviews with applicants for the position of companion. It was called "Situation Vacant" and it was quite good, with a lot of twists (obviously that's a strange thing for the Doctor to do, but a satisfactory explanation is provided). Congrats on graduating though! And with high honors!

  • @NowWeAreAllTom I need to hear this audio drama now.

  • Congrats on graduation!!!

  • I was so proud of myself for understanding your French.

  • @allshalldelight Felicitations!

  • I imagine all the words you emphasise are written in giant, upper-case letters. That would look cool in a cover letter. Maybe in Comic sans.

  • @NameWithoutNumber NO NOT COMIC SANS NOT EVEN IN A JOKE *dies dramatically* *checks to make sure you're not looking but you are* *lays back down hoping you don't notice*

  • @fizzylimon Hahaha. Now I know your weakness! If I ever want to take you down, I just have to tell about my very pretty essay on Kantian ethics or my resume, both written in big, beautiful Comic sans letters... Or maybe it would work better if I told you I'd switched your resume for one I'd made myself... With all the headers written like THIS.

  • LOVE IT! you're a shoe-in!!! The Doctor should be excited for this application :)

  • Steve, this would be SO awesome ...

But in regards to media-related jobs, I've been applying for digital/new/social media internships ... and a few others ... and I've only heard back from 3. Which is somewhat good, I'd say. :)

    - Jason

  • @crimsong19 Yeah it's necessary to apply to a whole heck of a lot of jobs/internships to hear back from anyone, so I'm just gonna keep plugging along :)

  • Now, why wouldn't he hire you after that? By season seven, I fully expect to see you on the TARDIS.

  • @gemllama Let's hope it happens XD

  • Your French accent is amusing :) But it's pretty good nonetheless.

This is excellent. But I don't think you deserve the job - only because I myself are more suited ;)

  • Also, you are ginger, you know how he loves gingers. :D

  • @kateribethrose I'm not ginger! I *am* a carrier, though. Which makes me half-soulless, according to south park.

  • If the doctor somehow doesn't see this and you fail in becoming a companion, I hear Australia is a nice place to get a job.

  • @TheAussieIrish Noted!

  • Whoa, I didn't know you went to Indiana :) Congrats on graduating! Also, you'd make an awesome companion.

  • Love it! Graduating soon myself I know the stresses of finding a carrier. This positive and funny out look helped me not see my cover letters as such a chore any more.

  • @plot2themoon Haha yeah cover letters have gotten pretty easy. This definitely made it less stressful for me... because I've written enough cover letters to insulate my house now, haha. People don't often realize that this distraction is as much for me as for anyone else ;) Good luck to you too!

  • One more important qualification you missed! How good are you at running?

  • @bowiebookgirl My fastest mile was about 6:00 I think? So there's that.

  • Yeah, so you are my favourite. Nbd. Congratulations on the BA!!!!!

  • You'll have it rough against some chav contenders, but all the best to you!

  • @evmoneyTV Oh, right. I can be a chav too though... it's in my repertoire.

  • Dear Abby,

Given all the qualities you listed, I am of the opinion that you'd do a much better job than Amy Pond is currently doing. (And between you and me, you would probably even win over my affections for Rory. Which would take some doing.) At any rate, any season of Doctor Who with you as the companion would be, hands down, my favorite season of Doctor Who, ever.

    Love, Creeper

  • P.S. I have linked this video in my best friends' and my official Doctor Who discussion thread on Facebook. They enjoyed it very much. Love, Creeper

  • @whitefluffyhat

    Dear Creeper,

This is getting weird. How can yours be the only entries I receive? I'm starting to suspect that your "picking them up for me" from the PO Box involves some foul play... And give some of the other people who want to sit on the tree branch outside my window a chance. They've been waiting there for three days more than you.

As for your compliments, they are much appreciated, in contrast to your other efforts.

    Kindest and restrain-order-possessing regards,

    Dear Abby

  • Oh, this is hilarious. =) I love it.

Congratulations on graduating! On my birthday! =)

It's an exciting world out there. Good luck. =)

  • @desertislanddream Happy Birthday! And thanks!

  • @fizzylimon Thanks. and no problem. =)

  • see. this is why I love being subscribed to you.

  • when in doubt, apply for the companion position for the Doctor

  • @girljump5 I don't know that doubt is even necessary in this situation. The adage should simply be "everyone should always apply for the companion position regardless."

  • Is tomorrow really your graduation day? If so, congrats! If not...well, congrats anyway!

  • @TheMandiBarnett Haha it's fake graduation but that takes too many words for a cover letter. I went to the ceremony but I have to take one more class over the summer before I'm officially graduated.

  • Funny! I too should apply. We can be rivals for the position. xD

  • Remember the little people when you get the job, Steve.

  • @hotpinkelephant11 Hey, with the TARDIS at my beck and call, I don't even have to remember. I can stop by and thank everyone who supported me personally :)

  • I can't think of anyone more suited for the job.

  • I think you have a shot.

  • I can't help but listen to your intro over and over. And my conclusion for you is: It will be alright

  • lol. so amazingness. thanks for making me smile :)

  • I hope you suceed in your job in UK.

  • So, did he contact you?

  • awesome.
