  • 2- Samuel Ludd. England. 1830's. his Luddites were the only ones who resisted the big factories that destroyed cottage industries. before, if you wanted a table you got it from john the table maker in the village! quality, hands on carpentry work! no massed produced sub standard machine made factory crap!

  • not only should people grow theyre own tobacco, we should make our own furniture too! long live the Luddite Movement!

  • what is the temperature u dry tobacco in ?

  • Love the drying thingie you built.

  • I'M looking to trade a few hands of Kentucky Burley for some light leaf...

  • anybody explain this to me?

isnt the tabacco ready when its dry?

  • you can smoke it i think it just dosent smell that nice

  • you comment very long time ago, but no, you have to "cure" the tobacco to get the greatest taste, normally 6 months to 2 years (depends on type of tobacco and your own taste likeness

(haven't grown any yet though, sorry)

  • thank you...

  • U da man. I'm jealous.

  • máš to perfektne vymakané:D..budem si brať príklad hehe

  • Here in Virginia on our farm we grow burley and flue cured. I guess your trying to replicate flue curing? When you say the leaf is dried and then ready to be cured is incorrect. In flue curing you set the color (lemon-orange)at around 95-100dgs F, and then raise the heat to "kill the barn". Drying is about the last thing to happen. If the leaf dries to quick it will turn brown instead of yellow-orange. In an old barns it takes us about 4-5 days if the leaf is ripe. But good work anyway.

  • where can i find a teacher ?

  • nah that machine is the curing chamber, used to take out the smell of dry tobacco.

  • good work :) is awesome

  • dude where can u get the seeds ??

  • get seeds off the internet... my seeds jst came today... from Virtual Seeds

  • I noticed the fan and was wondering if you had holes in the bottom by the fan and on top of the chamber?

    Thanks,

  • the fan was an old pc fan that was suspended over a pot of water to get it to the right humidity. There was also a humidifyer in the chamber, but it needed more moisture. Yes the chamber has holes in the top and bottom for air flow although i has to cover the top hole because of heat escaping. I believe that this was because I made the mistake of using a 1 kw heater instead of a 2 kw.

  • curing removes the bad smell that you get when burning uncured tobacco. Smells a bit like marijuana (herbal).

once the leaf is dried you then start the curing.

I think the tobacco I grew can be air cured by hanging under a shelter outside for a month or so.

all that was in the chamber was a oil filled radiator and a humidifier. The radiators thermostat had to be replaced with a water boiler thermostat to get a higher temp. I might try the air cure option next time (less fire risk)

  • Marijuana smells bad? LOL Cool vids, I'm gonna have to look into this more.

  • @spiracy Hi I need Flavoring help ????

  • Looks like a nice set up..

  • Curing is not mandatory and is the most dangerous part as mould is always on the hunt!

  • if you know what your doing its not dangerous at all.

  • please post the specs for your curing chamber. I want to make one this winter. great videos. NC Bakky
