Do u drive around with ur camera on monitoring ppls driving I was tailgated by a cop but i also was doing 65 in a 55 so i didnt care we both had to be somewhere
ok... one thing... ok maybe more... but, the thing is that when a police or any law enforcement vehicle in any state, they are not allowed to use their lights or siren on a highway unless they are chasing some one, or they are in a convoy... that's the thing... i'm not calling you stupid or an idiot, i'm just saying that you should probably do something to research be for you post. Sorry..
If you are such a safe driver, why were you admittedly going 80 mph in a 55?....Last I checked exceeding the posted speed limit by 25 mph is not safe driving. Way to be the pot calling the kettle black.
I would like to point out that this is totally fake. First off, a rear view mirror is designed to dim light sources so when you glance up at the mirror, you do not get distracted or lose focus. There is no way the mirror would be brighter than the light coming in through the windows. And also, at :57 you pass a white pole on the right side of the road followed by a street sign before going under the pass. In the mirror, they never appear. Total fail. I bet you wont let this be posted!
Lol, he already approved your comment to let some people reply to you that your comment is totally fake. That video is blurred a bit so what do you expect him have like, a expensive 1080i HD camera? Common sense.
This is not an intimidation technique. Some people just don't realize the troopers are actually behind them until they are actually 2 feet behind 'em. Intimidation would be actually pulling people over and ticketing them. By this video, people obviously aren't intimidated. The trooper was obviously behind this driver for quite some time. Driver your an idiot. Just leave the camera at home and move the f**k over.
@PaulBisGr8 you couldn't be more wrong. people are supposed to respect the law and follow it. police are enforcers and should not be intimidating, weather on the road or when they pull you over, if you ever feel intimidated by a police officer during a stop, by his words, actions or anything and you have done nothing to provoke him, you should ask for his information and report him. people may not be intimidated in this video, still doesn't change the fact the officer was being reckless!
At first, you clearly had no reason to be in that lane. Trooper told you to move the F*k over.. Your an idiot. If there was an emergency, it would take him twice as long to get to his destination because the left lane is riddled with people like you. And how the f**k do you have a camera conveniently placed right there. You were tailgated more than once by troopers, huh? Yet you still don't get the picture. I think this is the most effiecient way to get people to follow the rules.
@PaulBisGr8 when did the trooper tell him to move over? at no point did the officer signal in anyway shape or form for him to move over. if he really had a serious emergency to get to he would turn his lights/siren on, or at least flash them, or use his pa system. also i dont get why you have to get so mad... its youtube bro
@ralphrs6 No problem Ralph. You did nothing wrong in that situation. There are some officers, well....let's just say their methods are....questionable. Over all most of us really are good people who care. I think what people have to remember is that we deal with allot of people, and usually they are at their worst, or we are giving them tickets for breaking the laws that society puts in place. Like all other professions, there are some bad apples, but for the most part we try to do a good job.
@2E4N I'm appreciating this a lot. This video was created just to check on the general driver's attitude and the traffic structure knowledge. All feedback I've received gave me an idea why there is so much misunderstanding in interpretation of the basic highway rules and why most of the viewers don't see this situation the same way I do. My future videos (WIP) will explain why circumstances like this happens and what is the possible solution for it. And thank you for being here.
@2E4N hahaha cops are like lawyers 90% of them give 10% of them a bad name! If you are one of those stand up citizen protectors i aplaude you, however it seems to me the powers that be make sure alot of big headed facists get to excerise their power trip on citizens. Its a shame they should all have to pass personality tests and apptitude tests. I hate seeing fat cops, i hate seeing mean cops, i hate seeing impatient cops because they are supposed to be the best amonge us...
Just an FYI....It's been my experience that if I am going to a call that is not a "priority 2 or 1" I leave my emerg lights off....unless I am entering an intersection on a red light. People see the lights and do some silly things....like freeze or stop. In this case if he/she wanted you to move to the right he/she should have engaged the emerg lights 4, or 5 car lengths before he/she came up on your bumper like that.
@2E4N Thank you for this comment. Yes, this is all I'm asking for to make an effort making it CLEAR for anyone around if they going to a call or just trying to clear the left lane from LLLs. I would NEVER attempt to block the Trooper if his/hers intentions are "easy to read" but I don't have to be scared and move over every time I see them in rwm. Just to make it clear I will move over but only if I have enough room and I don't have to cut other drivers off.
this is how njsp clear the left lane of slow drivers. The left lane should be for passing only. Because slower vehicles clog the lane provolking more aggressive drivers to pass in middle or right lane they use this intimidation technique to motivate drivers to clear this lane. I personly wish they would ticket these road hogs, rather than get them to move over. After they pass by the road hogs just move back over. I have formed my opinion from driving around 300 miles day 5 days a week in NJ
Lawlessness! I drove from NYC to MIA at times and passed thru DC and VA, MIA cops is the worst so far on the top ~1. I wonder why the law doesn't send these bad cops to driving school!?
It's not mandatory for the cop to have lights and sirens on when going to a call, for example, if it's a robbery or break in cops will often leave the sirens off to not let them know they're coming.
It's funny though, complaining about cops speeding when your speeding yourself. Hypocrite.
@leaf16nut If this was a true emergency he would not be cruising at 85mph! And when did you read about me complaining of him speeding? I've never said that!
@leaf16nut granted they are both speeding, the cop is going faster and he is also tailgating and following at an unsafe distance. when people ride me i just slow down even more... so if i was this guy i would have slowed down to the minimun speed limit than when the cop ether backed off or went around, i would ether get out of the lane or speed up to a decent speed till i saw someone coming than got out of the way.
the police could have pulled that SUV over, usually when people speed and a cop is that close it takes like up to 5 seconds for them to turn their lights on and pull them over but this was nice and didn't pull the SUV over, they r using a pace technique it's how I got pulled over twice 2 years ago
@masterknaster finally someone i totally agree with. also thank you for not saying "F**K" in your response, it was nice to see not everyone is extremely over the top and pissed on youtube haha
@PresidentOfNiger It wasn't really overlaid but simply never downloaded (and I'm regretting it now). What you cannot see (about 30 seconds prior) is me driving in the middle catching up to the Toyota cruising in the left lane. Then I moved behind him and waited (with my left turn signal on) for him to move out of the left lane. 7-9 seconds later the Toyota moves over to the middle and ... rest of it you already know.
It's call get the fuck out of the way rule which applies to police as well. I fucking hate when people drive slow in the left lane. GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY if your in the left lane and someone wants to go faster then you.
Often times the Duty Officer has to authorize a lights and siren response. Many times people do not know how to respond to an emergency vehicle with lights/sirens activated; often people will stop in front of you or pull to the left causing a dangerous situation. For the reasons mentioned above police are not allowed to run "code" to many calls that often warrant a quick response. So before you pass judgement why don't you just move over and let them do their jobs.
recently a cop came up behind me speeding and tailgated me like the one in this video, i stuck my hand out the window and he pulled me over, he asked me if i knew why he was pulling me over and i said no and he said "because you stuck your hand out the window like a freaking idiot" i didnt know that was illegal
Code 1- Respond normally, breaking no laws using no lights or sirens.
Code 2- Respond lights, no sirens
Code 3-Get your ass there by any means (safely) necessary...
Just because they don't have lights or sirens don't mean their not responding to a call....they may do that as to not to alert a perp near by..say a car 3 cars in front of you just robbed a bank..they don't want to spook them until all backup is ready to go.
i love how you put no sirens? no emergency ... they dont need lights on for that.... they could of been tailing someone... who takes the time to post this it wasnt even something outragous?
@ralphrs6 jesus fucking christ!!!! You stupid fuck!! If you go in the middle lane and go past him and STAY in the middle lane, IT IS NOT CONSIDERED PASSING!!! OMFG!!! Dont you get it???? ITS NOT PASSING UNLESS YOU MOVE INTO HIS LANE YOU STUPID PATHETIC DUMB ASSHOLE. Learn how to fucking drive. Learn the rules of the road. Its fucking useless shitheads like you that causes so many accidents. You have NO CLUE how to drive. NOT a clue. No way you have a license. No fucking way in hell.
@13tomabram You were going 65 then you had to move into the middle lane to "go pass" (whatever this means but its not passing according to you/DMV) a guy that was doing 45 in the left lane. Now you are doing 50 in the middle lane (middle lane was doing 50 remember!). You just go passed LLL and now the left lane is available to go back to do your 65! So, now you have to stay in the middle lane because if you go back into the left lane it will be considered as passing? WTF is this? OMG!
You're not a Trooper, so you don't know what was going on. Maybe it was a supervisor going to a call where there were already other Troopers, so lights and sirens weren't needed but he wanted to get there quickly. Please, don't criticize when you do know 100% of the story.
I remember a pennsylvania state trooper telling me if someone is riding to close it is legal to brake check them. I said even if it causes an accident he said yup they shouldn't be following that close all I could say was wow I did not know that at all.
You were too slow in the over take. In America you guys take forever to over take. You cruise on the left lane thinking just because you're inching ahead of the other cars you can stay there.
to the moron that posted this video. You are a complete idiot. You dont even know the state law. How did you get a license? Left lane is for PASSING ONLY!!! DUHH He could of pulled you over and summonsed you. Dumb toolbag!!
@13tomabram To the moron who posted this comment. Perhaps if you watch it again you'll see that I was actually passing the Toyota when he sat on my rear so I couldn't move over right then. On this highway there are signs posted every couple of miles: "Keep Right Pass Left". Yes, PASS LEFT! If you have a vehicle driving in the left lane in order to pass it you would have to move behind that car and wait until he gets out of your way so you can pass on left. And that was exactly what I did!
@ralphrs6 are you dumb? How were you passing the toyota when he was IN THE LEFT LANE WHEN THE VIDEO STARTED? The middle lane was clear. Dumb idiot. Then after the cop passed you again go back in the left lane NOT TO PASS yet AGAIN!! You stayed in the left for 40 seconds and pulled to the middle because the cop was in front of you. It dosent take 40 seconds to pass a car. He should of given you a summons. Morons like you hold up traffic.
@13tomabram You have no idea what "Keep Right Pass Left" means. Because you've suggested I should pass the Toyota using the middle lane. Do you even realize that you are the reason why there are so many LLL (left lane loafer) on the highways! Yes, every time you decide to pass them on the right you are giving them a green light to do so. Passing on the right should be your very last resort. Did you ever "ask" the driver in front of you to move over? Or you just assume they will never move over?
@ralphrs6 I have no idea? LOL Explain to me how you were in the left lane to pass a car that was IN THE LEFT LANE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Show me where I said you should pass the car in the middle lane. Do you know what passing means? If you were in the middle lane and passed by the car on the left ITS NOT CONSIDERED PASSING UNLESS YOU CHANGE INTO THE LEFT LANE you fucktard. Learn about driving moron.
@13tomabram This is how. I was traveling in the middle lane when approached the Toyota (he was in the far left lane). So, according to "Keep Right PASS LEFT" I shouldn't be passing other vehicles on the right hand side but because that Toyota was in the passing lane I simply instead of passing in the middle I moved behind the Toyota, turned my left blinker on and waited for him to let me go/pass. Rest of this story you already know. Watch it again. Perhaps a little editing will help understand
@ralphrs6 That makes ZERO sense. Nice try liar. If your in the middle lane, and your going to GO BACK IN THE MIDDLE LANE after you pass, then why would you move to the left lane in the first place?
You are telling me you can go by someone thats in the left lane? LMFAO!!! Are you fucking kidding me? Where the fuck did you get your license? OMFG!!!! Please stay off the road. You have NO CLUE have to drive.
@13tomabram Now I know for sure that you don't know what "Keep Right Pass Left" really means. You are getting upset because I'm trying to explain something to you that you have never seen before! If you don't understand this rule and it's importance your point of view on this issue is very limited! That's why you don't understand why I've positioned myself behind the vehicle I was trying to pass. I just hope that my upcoming video will help you to understand what "Keep Right Pass Left" means.
@ralphrs6 Keep right pass left means, when you are in the SAME lane you move to the passing lane (left) then go around the vehicle. It dosent mean move BEHIND the vehicle you want to pass.
ANSWER MY QUESTION. Are you telling me you cant go past someone in the left lane while you are in the middle lane? Thats EXACTLY what you are saying. Thats the DUMBEST thing I have EVER heard in my life. There is NO way you have a license. NO WAY in hell.
@13tomabram Yes, exactly ... but now if you have a slower moving vehicle in the left lane and you want to pass him what would YOU do? Pass him in the middle? Would this be called then "Keep Right Pass Right or Left"? Remember he is the one at fault because he doesn't respect "Keep Right" rule. It would be so much easier for you if they did, right? You would be much less aggravated! That why before passing on right I go behind LLL and "ask" him to move over so I can follow "Keep Right Pass Left"
@ralphrs6 LMFAO!!!! Where did you get your license? Out of a cracker jack box? WTF?? Thats Thats NOT considered passing someone genius. Passing is when you go passed someone and MOVE INTO THEIR LANE. DUHHHH No wonder there are so many fucking accidents. Morons like you have NO fucking clue how to drive. SO if the guy in the left lane is doing 20 mph on the highway then everyone in the middle and right lanes has to stay behind him. LOL You are dumb. Please learn how to drive.
@13tomabram Answer to your question. ABSOLUTELY NOT. It should be written: passing on the right is prohibited unless conditions not allowing otherwise. So, if you have a guy in the left lane doing 20 everyone would at least slow down for a moment and possibly tried to make "his" left lane trip a little less enjoyable by flashing their high beams or sounding their horns. Perhaps it sounds like a weird idea now but it makes a difference. "They" would not enjoy driving in the left lane anymore!
@ralphrs6 well according to you it would be illegal to go passed the guy in the left lane. LOL And as far as "at least slow down for a moment and possibly tried to make "his" left lane trip a little less enjoyable by flashing their high beams or sounding their horns." Thats YOUR opinion. We are talking about the law. Only a idiot like you would slow down behind the guy doing 20 in the left lane. You wonder why you just got rear ended. OMG!! Do you have ANY driving experience at all?
@13tomabram So what's the law say in this case and what would you do? You're doing 65 in the left lane. To your right all traffic is moving at 55. Now suddenly you are catching up to LLL directly in front of you and his speed is 50. So, now both right and middle lanes are faster then you are! My question is can you pass him on right (the middle lane) if signs saying "Keep Right Pass Left" or "Keep Right Except To Pass"? Will this be considered passing since you have to change the lane?
i like how your a getting flack for being in the passing lane when you used it for passing people, then let some space open up between you and the guy you just passed before moving back across... if you had cut them up you would be in the wrong, but as you gave space and used the lanes correctly, you have gathered loads of hate... interesting lol.
WTF are you doing in the left land with your hands at "2 & 10" going 55 mph on the turnpike/parkway? You're a total ass. If you did that in Europe you'd have every driver on your ass.
@dkmourn You have no idea what you're talking about. The speed was 75-80! And just so you know if this happened in Europe it would look exactly the same. In EU if you catch up to a slower moving vehicle you CANNOT pass it on the right hand side! You would have to move behind that vehicle and wait until moves over to the right and then pass it. This is exactly what this video shows. I was waiting (with my left turn signal on) for that vehicle to let me pass him. And after passing I've moved over.
There just doing there jobs by moving ignorant drivers out of the pass lane to show them that the left passing lane is just what it was made for, to pass other drivers. Not drive there. sheesh
Ohio has a stupid law that requires trucks to stay in the left lane. So they sit in the left lane and do about 50 and people have no choice but to pass them on the right.
It's not being "irresponsible", it's called reckless driving, borne out of police arrogance which decrees "Do as i say not as i do, i can do anything i want 'cause i wear blue". If the roles were reversed they'd be charging you with reckless driving.....
I have seen this so many times with cops. I was driving back home on a one lane road at 35mph. Dick fuck of a cop came up super fast from behind and just drove 2ft from my bumper. This was a 20 mile drive and shit the cop jusy kept driving closer and closer. I brake checked but the fucker just passed me up in a no pass 20mph school zone. I swear some cops can be dicks
From the looks of it you weren't doing much passing, you're not supposed to cruise in the left lane... That's why stateys do that in the first place... I like your red light saber, by the way.
Seriously you are retarted. u are complaining because u are in the fast lane/ passing lane going at least 80 mph. U are not suppose to ride in the passing lane unless u are passing. U should be lucky that he did not give you a ticket for speeding. How else is he suppose to let u no that he wants to pass put on his lights and make it look like he is pulling u over....
You did everything by the book why he got on your tail idk, however the van i would of given a ticket to for driving slow in the fast lane and not getting over.
Did anyone watch the video? I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He was waiting to pass a car in front of him - which moved to the right and allowed him to pass. Then the cop came up on his ass. Based on the video - the driver with the video camera was actually doing what he was suppose to be doing. hmph.
I can't stand it when people drive too slow in the passing lane. Interstate 84 is full of douche bags that do 60 mph in a 65 mph zone while they are driving in the passing lane thinking they're driving fast. I got frustrated to the point where I no longer give a shit wether or not I pass in the fast lane or slow lane. If someone is driving too slow, i just pass them.
the officer is clearing the left lane of brainless morons who dont have enough sense to stay to the right if they arent passing.... what makes american highways 10x more dangerous than autobahnen is that (a) you have people passing on both sides, and (b) the average americano has an IQ of 85. Tyranny of the Least and the Dumbest reins supreme
While I was on the freeway with the speed limit 65, I went 65. I was in the right lane and on the left are usually the faster lanes. I saw a car on the far left going about the same speed as me and then a police came behind that car and started tailgating it REALLY close, forcing the car in front to speed up because it didn't want to get in an accident. The police then turned on it's lights. WTF? The police is the one that tailgated him in the first place and now he's ticketing him? I smh...
You did the right thing. You went into the right lane As soom as you could w/out side-swiping the guy beside you. You had the right to be in that lane b/c you WERE passing other cars & 74 is completely fine when the majority of the people are going that speed in the lane (& my friends father is a cop, who said that they usually allow motorists to go UP TO 10 mph over the speed limit, so 74mph is completely fine in a 65, especially so when you're PASSING) The cop was a douche bag, plain & simple.
For those who don't know, driving in the 'fast lane' (typically far left lane) is a passing lane, not a 'cruise' lane. It is definitely illegal to simply coast in the fast lane, and you 'can' be ticketed for it. So all you SLOW MO'FO's - Move out of our way :)
To all the back seat drivers who posted negative comments on this video. Classic example of why a wise person limits their assumptions on videos like these. Driving is a very involved process and there are a lot of things you have to be aware of. Watching a video like this gives you tunnel vision. You can't see a lot of things. Say for example if this guy was passing a car to his right, you would not know that THAT maybe the reason why he stayed in the lane. You R NOT there, so don't assume.
I'd have stepped on my brakes and let him rear-end me...let's see how generous the state of NJ would be for one of their officer's reckless driving being the cause of an accident.
@ralphrs6 In general, agreed. However many times theres no real neccessity for the middle laner to move to the right because the left lane is completely free. The furthest right lane is not often the safest to drive in, Constuction, entrance ramps, bad pavement, etc. From my perspective the middle lane feels like the safest...and as long as theres no traffic jam i don't see why the fast guys can't go into the left lane. With a jam-up though, you're right--move over(to right)
@MargaritasAntesPorco Yes, but the problem is that quite often or most of the times those drivers will not acknowledge a changing/higher traffic density and they will stay in the middle lane ignoring traffic build up behind them. That why you see so many frustrated drivers decide to pass using the far right lane. When there is low traffic condition they still should be in the right lane (just like on two lane highway) but they can use the middle lane to avoid any "obstacles" in their way.
@ralphrs6 not a bad video....as per your comment here, i believe that the middle lane is a travel lane not a passing lane, so if a person is doing more or less the speed limit in the middle lane and someone comes up fast behind him he's under no obligation per se to move over(might be nice but not neccessary)...the guy who comes up fast in a middle lane should move to the far left passing lane and make a legal pass.
@MargaritasAntesPorco The idea of smooth traffic flow is simple and it follows one rule "keep right". That why it is very important to have only one travel lane (the right lane) The middle lane(s) CAN become a travel lanes only if the right one is completely occupied by slower moving vehicles. And the same rule applies to the left lane. You can actually use the left lane as a travel line if the middle and right lanes are occupied. But you have to move over to right every time it is possible!
Stay out of the passing lane. You are screwing up traffic flow and traffic safety. Would you have moved out of the left lane if it were not a cop? Or would you have forced the guy to pass you on the inside while flipping him off for tailgating? I am SICK of people traveling in the passing lane. Travel in the frigging travel lane and pass in the passing lane.
@dsn102461 Yes, I would mover for any vehicle to let them pass me. I use the left lane for passing only! But I don't pass on the right (at least I'm trying not to). "Keep Right, Pass Left" is actually telling you that passing on right is not allowed. And yes as well as you are I'm very frustrated with a left and MIDDLE lanes loafers. So what I do is I move behind them and I'm trying to get them off the left lane. Police will not clear the passing lane for YOU because they don't care about this!
@dsn102461 Far as I could tell he moved over as soon as it was safe and convenient to do so, which IS traffic law. The cop came right up his ass and was driving aggressively. The driver in this vid didn't do anything unsafe or illegal, it was the cop that was clearly at fault. And then the cop continues to tailgate people up ahead. If he was in a hurry for a true emergency, he should have had his lights on. If not, he shouldn't have been driving like a tool. Cops can be the worst drivers.
next time just brake check them, if they hit you then thats there fault and you can sue them. theyre not suppose to tail anyone unless they chasing you
In Poland they'd get pulled over by the Police for blocking the left lane. Actually, it's the only thing the Police is 100% right in enforcing over here.
B.T.W. The quality of those roads makes me want to to kiss the pads of my thumb and the forefinger and say "moi" in French!
@TransAmLuvr Finally someone who thinks! Yes, why they never handling failure to keep right tickets? Our highways are freaking mess. Cars are cruising in the left or middle lines for no reason and without any consequences. Also passing on the right is allowed too!?! Where is the Traffic Police and what are they actually doing to correct this mess? Oh yeah. I know what they doing. They just sitting in the bushes and waiting only for speeders. They really need to take a trip overseas and learn.
driving up to your bumper is basically a signal to get out of the way..your in the passing lane complaining about a trooper letting you know he's in a rush to get somewhere..hope this trooper finds you and mails you a ticket..
why were you in the passing lane without a car to your right he should have ticketed you for obstruction of traffic and i am not a fan of cops as a rule
@delinkme Thanks for asking. The reason I was in the left lane was that I was doing the same thing that this trooper was. Believe or not I was on the same "mission". When I saw that Toyota just cruising in the left lane I simply moved right behind that vehicle and "asked" to move over. I just used my left turn signal to indicate this (see first few sec. of video). This maneuver took place about 15 sec. prior to what you saw. Then when Toyota moved over I've started my passing. I PASS LEFT!
@ryanlovestosnowboard 1) 911 hangups calls are always picked up by your local Police Dept so they can respond within a few minutes! 2) disputes at the rest areas calls need quick response so the argument/situation would not escalate. In this case the Trooper would want to have his overhead lights turned on (siren not necessarily) so he has a clear way in front of him! 3) No lights or siren for a burglar alarm call? Really? But still this call would be picked up by the closest local Police Dept
@ryanlovestosnowboard So give me 3 good examples of an emergency call that would allow the State Trooper to drive appx. 90 mph (without using an emergency lights/siren) and tailgate everyone that he meets on his way?
@FordTruck611 So give me 3 good examples of an emergency call that would allow the State Trooper to drive appx. 90 mph (without using an emergency lights/siren) and tailgate everyone that he meets on his way?
I gave a cop an ass chewing for doing it to me coming home from work 1 night. Called his supervisor as well. I intentionally pulled off the road and he got behind me, I said "1 in a 55mph zone the distance for a vehicle behind another is 5 1/2 car lengths, 2 get off my ass because there are deer everywhere and I dont need a cop slamming into the ass end of my car when one jumps out."
On thing I've learned about posting bad behavior of cops on YouTube - it brings out cop-defenders (fellow cops?) who can come up with every excuse in the world to justify the actions. Yet, privately, cops will tell you, after watching the video in your presence, that they cop 'shouldn't have done that.
It's the classic "always defend a fellow blue" that creates the us vs. them attitude. And it's why at every traffic stop, the cops are hyper-defensive/critical.
Reading the comments and it seems everyone is missing the real danger of the trooper driving so close to his rear bumper!!! This is aggessive driving at the least and if the trooper was responding to a emerg. the lights & siren should be on so people can safely move out of the way. The passing lane was being used to 'pass' as shown in video, the trooper was out of line.
@Rocketee Thank you for this comment. That's the point if there was a real emergency he would have his lights (and siren) on. So, what he was trying to do was to make me move over in the most disgusting way. I'm not a left lane loafer and he actually saw that, when I moved to the left lane just to pass that Toyota (my left turn signal was informing both of them about my intention!). And why in the world he started to tailgate me when Toyota was right next to my right? Just to show that he can?
Well you accellerated to nearly 80 just to pass the car ahead of you, rather than stay behind him when he changed lanes at between 65 and 70 (your speedometer is clearly visible), Troopers sometimes respond to calls without use of lights and sirens as in some conditons, use of lights can create more problems than than they solve. Most prudent drivers would see a Troop car coming up at high speed and simply move over.
@FireSarge30 Are you telling me/us that using light and siren by Troopers can create more problems?? This is totally absurd what you are saying! There is NO BETTER way for the Police to clear the road in front of them then use of lights and siren. Yes, I agree with you that sometimes they have to get somewhere faster but still it should be NOTICEABLE for others! Even if they quick-flashed high beams it would help a lot. The tailgating is totally ridiculously stupid method!!!
@ralphrs6 - You're not understanding what I am saying. In SOME conditions, use of lights and sirens can create more problems. There is the need for a "silent" approach on some calls. (Not the case here it seems.) In certain heavy traffic conditions/intersections, use of lights and sirens can cause people to do stupid and unpredictable things. That's my point. Flashing headlights is a good tactic in some situations, but; some people will cut others off in a panic at the sound of a siren.
@FireSarge30 You've made a very important statement: "Not the case here it seems". I just want to let you know that I am NOT a cop hater. Despite all real emergency talk now. I/we know what he was just on the mission to "fight" a left lane campers here. But his judgment in this situation was really poor, don't you think? The truth is: we should and we will respect the Police for what they doing for all of us as long as they treat us back with the same respect!
@ralphrs6 - Tailgating by anyone can be dangerous, agreed. We don't know where he was headed, so he may have been trying to get somewhere quickly. Nonetheless, he was just as likely to hit someone had the left-lane camper decided to slam on the brakes. I do not condone tailgating, but; some just don't know when to get the heck out of the way. Respect...of course.
@FireSarge30 "Troopers sometimes respond to calls without use of lights and sirens..." that is a bunch of crap and its against to law even for police to drive over the speed limit if they are not running their lights.
they tailgate to make you swerve back and forth which is a normal reaction to tailgating and if you do swerve back and forth then they can suspect you of beign drunk and pull you over.
Cut the cop some slack, he probably heard there was only one boston creme left on the shelf.

@ralphrs6 For State Police their methods are questionable but this is how emergency's deal with driving.
Code 1-No Lights or Siren
Code 2-Some Lights
Code 3-All lights and Siren
By default, all NJSP are code 1 at all times for responsiveness.

ok... one thing... ok maybe more... but, the thing is that when a police or any law enforcement vehicle in any state, they are not allowed to use their lights or siren on a highway unless they are chasing some one, or they are in a convoy... that's the thing... i'm not calling you stupid or an idiot, i'm just saying that you should probably do something to research be for you post. Sorry..
LopezHernandezAdrian 1 month ago
If you are such a safe driver, why were you admittedly going 80 mph in a 55?....Last I checked exceeding the posted speed limit by 25 mph is not safe driving. Way to be the pot calling the kettle black.
RoughRaiders13 1 month ago
I would like to point out that this is totally fake. First off, a rear view mirror is designed to dim light sources so when you glance up at the mirror, you do not get distracted or lose focus. There is no way the mirror would be brighter than the light coming in through the windows. And also, at :57 you pass a white pole on the right side of the road followed by a street sign before going under the pass. In the mirror, they never appear. Total fail. I bet you wont let this be posted!

PaulBisGr8 1 month ago
@PaulBisGr8 you couldn't be more wrong. people are supposed to respect the law and follow it. police are enforcers and should not be intimidating, weather on the road or when they pull you over, if you ever feel intimidated by a police officer during a stop, by his words, actions or anything and you have done nothing to provoke him, you should ask for his information and report him. people may not be intimidated in this video, still doesn't change the fact the officer was being reckless!
alexdrum94 1 month ago
At first, you clearly had no reason to be in that lane. Trooper told you to move the F*k over.. Your an idiot. If there was an emergency, it would take him twice as long to get to his destination because the left lane is riddled with people like you. And how the f**k do you have a camera conveniently placed right there. You were tailgated more than once by troopers, huh? Yet you still don't get the picture. I think this is the most effiecient way to get people to follow the rules.
PaulBisGr8 1 month ago
@PaulBisGr8 when did the trooper tell him to move over? at no point did the officer signal in anyway shape or form for him to move over. if he really had a serious emergency to get to he would turn his lights/siren on, or at least flash them, or use his pa system. also i dont get why you have to get so mad... its youtube bro
alexdrum94 1 month ago

And thank you for being here.
ralphrs6 1 month ago
@2E4N hahaha cops are like lawyers 90% of them give 10% of them a bad name! If you are one of those stand up citizen protectors i aplaude you, however it seems to me the powers that be make sure alot of big headed facists get to excerise their power trip on citizens. Its a shame they should all have to pass personality tests and apptitude tests. I hate seeing fat cops, i hate seeing mean cops, i hate seeing impatient cops because they are supposed to be the best amonge us...

I275westflorida 2 months ago
Just an FYI....It's been my experience that if I am going to a call that is not a "priority 2 or 1" I leave my emerg lights off....unless I am entering an intersection on a red light. People see the lights and do some silly things....like freeze or stop. In this case if he/she wanted you to move to the right he/she should have engaged the emerg lights 4, or 5 car lengths before he/she came up on your bumper like that.
2E4N 2 months ago
@2E4N Thank you for this comment. Yes, this is all I'm asking for to make an effort making it CLEAR for anyone around if they going to a call or just trying to clear the left lane from LLLs. I would NEVER attempt to block the Trooper if his/hers intentions are "easy to read" but I don't have to be scared and move over every time I see them in rwm. Just to make it clear I will move over but only if I have enough room and I don't have to cut other drivers off.
ralphrs6 2 months ago
this is how njsp clear the left lane of slow drivers.

AcceleraTube 2 months ago
It's not mandatory for the cop to have lights and sirens on when going to a call, for example, if it's a robbery or break in cops will often leave the sirens off to not let them know they're coming.
It's funny though, complaining about cops speeding when your speeding yourself. Hypocrite.
leaf16nut 2 months ago
@leaf16nut If this was a true emergency he would not be cruising at 85mph! And when did you read about me complaining of him speeding? I've never said that!
ralphrs6 2 months ago
@leaf16nut granted they are both speeding, the cop is going faster and he is also tailgating and following at an unsafe distance. when people ride me i just slow down even more... so if i was this guy i would have slowed down to the minimun speed limit than when the cop ether backed off or went around, i would ether get out of the lane or speed up to a decent speed till i saw someone coming than got out of the way.

SimX9000 2 months ago
Often times the Duty Officer has to authorize a lights and siren response. Many times people do not know how to respond to an emergency vehicle with lights/sirens activated; often people will stop in front of you or pull to the left causing a dangerous situation. For the reasons mentioned above police are not allowed to run "code" to many calls that often warrant a quick response. So before you pass judgement why don't you just move over and let them do their jobs.

Could be an emergency...

13tomabram 3 months ago
@13tomabram You were going 65 then you had to move into the middle lane to "go pass" (whatever this means but its not passing according to you/DMV) a guy that was doing 45 in the left lane. Now you are doing 50 in the middle lane (middle lane was doing 50 remember!). You just go passed LLL and now the left lane is available to go back to do your 65! So, now you have to stay in the middle lane because if you go back into the left lane it will be considered as passing? WTF is this? OMG!
ralphrs6 3 months ago
You're not a Trooper, so you don't know what was going on. Maybe it was a supervisor going to a call where there were already other Troopers, so lights and sirens weren't needed but he wanted to get there quickly. Please, don't criticize when you do know 100% of the story.

13tomabram 3 months ago
@13tomabram To the moron who posted this comment. Perhaps if you watch it again you'll see that I was actually passing the Toyota when he sat on my rear so I couldn't move over right then. On this highway there are signs posted every couple of miles: "Keep Right Pass Left". Yes, PASS LEFT! If you have a vehicle driving in the left lane in order to pass it you would have to move behind that car and wait until he gets out of your way so you can pass on left. And that was exactly what I did!
ralphrs6 3 months ago
@ralphrs6 are you dumb? How were you passing the toyota when he was IN THE LEFT LANE WHEN THE VIDEO STARTED? The middle lane was clear. Dumb idiot. Then after the cop passed you again go back in the left lane NOT TO PASS yet AGAIN!! You stayed in the left for 40 seconds and pulled to the middle because the cop was in front of you. It dosent take 40 seconds to pass a car. He should of given you a summons. Morons like you hold up traffic.
13tomabram 3 months ago
@13tomabram You have no idea what "Keep Right Pass Left" means. Because you've suggested I should pass the Toyota using the middle lane. Do you even realize that you are the reason why there are so many LLL (left lane loafer) on the highways! Yes, every time you decide to pass them on the right you are giving them a green light to do so. Passing on the right should be your very last resort. Did you ever "ask" the driver in front of you to move over? Or you just assume they will never move over?
ralphrs6 3 months ago
@ralphrs6 I have no idea? LOL Explain to me how you were in the left lane to pass a car that was IN THE LEFT LANE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Show me where I said you should pass the car in the middle lane. Do you know what passing means? If you were in the middle lane and passed by the car on the left ITS NOT CONSIDERED PASSING UNLESS YOU CHANGE INTO THE LEFT LANE you fucktard. Learn about driving moron.
13tomabram 3 months ago
@13tomabram This is how. I was traveling in the middle lane when approached the Toyota (he was in the far left lane). So, according to "Keep Right PASS LEFT" I shouldn't be passing other vehicles on the right hand side but because that Toyota was in the passing lane I simply instead of passing in the middle I moved behind the Toyota, turned my left blinker on and waited for him to let me go/pass. Rest of this story you already know. Watch it again. Perhaps a little editing will help understand
ralphrs6 3 months ago
@ralphrs6 That makes ZERO sense. Nice try liar. If your in the middle lane, and your going to GO BACK IN THE MIDDLE LANE after you pass, then why would you move to the left lane in the first place?
You are telling me you can go by someone thats in the left lane? LMFAO!!! Are you fucking kidding me? Where the fuck did you get your license? OMFG!!!! Please stay off the road. You have NO CLUE have to drive.
13tomabram 3 months ago
@13tomabram Now I know for sure that you don't know what "Keep Right Pass Left" really means. You are getting upset because I'm trying to explain something to you that you have never seen before! If you don't understand this rule and it's importance your point of view on this issue is very limited! That's why you don't understand why I've positioned myself behind the vehicle I was trying to pass. I just hope that my upcoming video will help you to understand what "Keep Right Pass Left" means.
ralphrs6 3 months ago
@ralphrs6 Keep right pass left means, when you are in the SAME lane you move to the passing lane (left) then go around the vehicle. It dosent mean move BEHIND the vehicle you want to pass.
ANSWER MY QUESTION. Are you telling me you cant go past someone in the left lane while you are in the middle lane? Thats EXACTLY what you are saying. Thats the DUMBEST thing I have EVER heard in my life. There is NO way you have a license. NO WAY in hell.
13tomabram 3 months ago
@13tomabram Yes, exactly ... but now if you have a slower moving vehicle in the left lane and you want to pass him what would YOU do? Pass him in the middle? Would this be called then "Keep Right Pass Right or Left"? Remember he is the one at fault because he doesn't respect "Keep Right" rule. It would be so much easier for you if they did, right? You would be much less aggravated! That why before passing on right I go behind LLL and "ask" him to move over so I can follow "Keep Right Pass Left"
ralphrs6 3 months ago
@ralphrs6 LMFAO!!!! Where did you get your license? Out of a cracker jack box? WTF?? Thats Thats NOT considered passing someone genius. Passing is when you go passed someone and MOVE INTO THEIR LANE. DUHHHH No wonder there are so many fucking accidents. Morons like you have NO fucking clue how to drive. SO if the guy in the left lane is doing 20 mph on the highway then everyone in the middle and right lanes has to stay behind him. LOL You are dumb. Please learn how to drive.
13tomabram 3 months ago
@13tomabram You still don't get it, do you?
Tell me this then. What is your problem with LLLs? Why would you want them out of the left lane since you can obviously GO AROUND them?
ralphrs6 3 months ago
@13tomabram Answer to your question. ABSOLUTELY NOT. It should be written: passing on the right is prohibited unless conditions not allowing otherwise. So, if you have a guy in the left lane doing 20 everyone would at least slow down for a moment and possibly tried to make "his" left lane trip a little less enjoyable by flashing their high beams or sounding their horns. Perhaps it sounds like a weird idea now but it makes a difference. "They" would not enjoy driving in the left lane anymore!
ralphrs6 3 months ago
@ralphrs6 well according to you it would be illegal to go passed the guy in the left lane. LOL And as far as "at least slow down for a moment and possibly tried to make "his" left lane trip a little less enjoyable by flashing their high beams or sounding their horns." Thats YOUR opinion. We are talking about the law. Only a idiot like you would slow down behind the guy doing 20 in the left lane. You wonder why you just got rear ended. OMG!! Do you have ANY driving experience at all?
13tomabram 3 months ago
@13tomabram So what's the law say in this case and what would you do? You're doing 65 in the left lane. To your right all traffic is moving at 55. Now suddenly you are catching up to LLL directly in front of you and his speed is 50. So, now both right and middle lanes are faster then you are! My question is can you pass him on right (the middle lane) if signs saying "Keep Right Pass Left" or "Keep Right Except To Pass"? Will this be considered passing since you have to change the lane?
ralphrs6 3 months ago
i like how your a getting flack for being in the passing lane when you used it for passing people, then let some space open up between you and the guy you just passed before moving back across... if you had cut them up you would be in the wrong, but as you gave space and used the lanes correctly, you have gathered loads of hate... interesting lol.

dkmourn 4 months ago
@dkmourn You have no idea what you're talking about. The speed was 75-80! And just so you know if this happened in Europe it would look exactly the same. In EU if you catch up to a slower moving vehicle you CANNOT pass it on the right hand side! You would have to move behind that vehicle and wait until moves over to the right and then pass it. This is exactly what this video shows. I was waiting (with my left turn signal on) for that vehicle to let me pass him. And after passing I've moved over.

So all you SLOW MO'FO's - Move out of our way :)
fmnma1 5 months ago
To all the back seat drivers who posted negative comments on this video. Classic example of why a wise person limits their assumptions on videos like these. Driving is a very involved process and there are a lot of things you have to be aware of. Watching a video like this gives you tunnel vision. You can't see a lot of things. Say for example if this guy was passing a car to his right, you would not know that THAT maybe the reason why he stayed in the lane. You R NOT there, so don't assume.

I'd have stepped on my brakes and let him rear-end me...let's see how generous the state of NJ would be for one of their officer's reckless driving being the cause of an accident.
joebazots 5 months ago
Well they do that to get slower drivers out of the fast lane, watch the video called new jersey trooper at his best, it shows this tactic
Disablednoob 5 months ago
@ralphrs6 In general, agreed. However many times theres no real neccessity for the middle laner to move to the right because the left lane is completely free. The furthest right lane is not often the safest to drive in, Constuction, entrance ramps, bad pavement, etc. From my perspective the middle lane feels like the safest...and as long as theres no traffic jam i don't see why the fast guys can't go into the left lane. With a jam-up though, you're right--move over(to right)
MargaritasAntesPorco 5 months ago
@MargaritasAntesPorco Yes, but the problem is that quite often or most of the times those drivers will not acknowledge a changing/higher traffic density and they will stay in the middle lane ignoring traffic build up behind them. That why you see so many frustrated drivers decide to pass using the far right lane. When there is low traffic condition they still should be in the right lane (just like on two lane highway) but they can use the middle lane to avoid any "obstacles" in their way.
ralphrs6 4 months ago
@ralphrs6 not a bad video....as per your comment here, i believe that the middle lane is a travel lane not a passing lane, so if a person is doing more or less the speed limit in the middle lane and someone comes up fast behind him he's under no obligation per se to move over(might be nice but not neccessary)...the guy who comes up fast in a middle lane should move to the far left passing lane and make a legal pass.
MargaritasAntesPorco 5 months ago
@MargaritasAntesPorco The idea of smooth traffic flow is simple and it follows one rule "keep right". That why it is very important to have only one travel lane (the right lane) The middle lane(s) CAN become a travel lanes only if the right one is completely occupied by slower moving vehicles. And the same rule applies to the left lane. You can actually use the left lane as a travel line if the middle and right lanes are occupied. But you have to move over to right every time it is possible!

Unless you know the full story stfu. And most of u cop bashers would be the first people to call the cops, so how about you stop your bitching?

if he is in that much of a hurry, he should go code 3!
SPCcranford1056 5 months ago
Stay out of the passing lane. You are screwing up traffic flow and traffic safety. Would you have moved out of the left lane if it were not a cop? Or would you have forced the guy to pass you on the inside while flipping him off for tailgating? I am SICK of people traveling in the passing lane. Travel in the frigging travel lane and pass in the passing lane.
dsn102461 6 months ago
@dsn102461 Did you even watch the entire video? That cop was continually driving illegally. Period.
G58 5 months ago
@dsn102461 Yes, I would mover for any vehicle to let them pass me. I use the left lane for passing only! But I don't pass on the right (at least I'm trying not to). "Keep Right, Pass Left" is actually telling you that passing on right is not allowed. And yes as well as you are I'm very frustrated with a left and MIDDLE lanes loafers. So what I do is I move behind them and I'm trying to get them off the left lane. Police will not clear the passing lane for YOU because they don't care about this!
ralphrs6 4 months ago

I wish they would start handing out tickets in S.C. for hanging in the left lane. I swear. Dumb phuks.
TransAmLuvr 6 months ago
@TransAmLuvr Finally someone who thinks! Yes, why they never handling failure to keep right tickets? Our highways are freaking mess. Cars are cruising in the left or middle lines for no reason and without any consequences. Also passing on the right is allowed too!?! Where is the Traffic Police and what are they actually doing to correct this mess? Oh yeah. I know what they doing. They just sitting in the bushes and waiting only for speeders. They really need to take a trip overseas and learn.
ralphrs6 6 months ago
driving up to your bumper is basically a signal to get out of the way..your in the passing lane complaining about a trooper letting you know he's in a rush to get somewhere..hope this trooper finds you and mails you a ticket..
djkron532 6 months ago
@djkron532 For what? Passing?
ralphrs6 6 months ago
@djkron532
If he's in a rush he should have left earlier or have his lights on. Otherwise, he has to follow the same rules as any other motorist.

why were you in the passing lane without a car to your right he should have ticketed you for obstruction of traffic and i am not a fan of cops as a rule
delinkme 6 months ago
@delinkme Thanks for asking. The reason I was in the left lane was that I was doing the same thing that this trooper was. Believe or not I was on the same "mission". When I saw that Toyota just cruising in the left lane I simply moved right behind that vehicle and "asked" to move over. I just used my left turn signal to indicate this (see first few sec. of video). This maneuver took place about 15 sec. prior to what you saw. Then when Toyota moved over I've started my passing. I PASS LEFT!

@FordTruck611 hes not on call if he would a policy by all 50 state the must have there light on
MRrockon0 6 months ago
@ryanlovestosnowboard 1) 911 hangups calls are always picked up by your local Police Dept so they can respond within a few minutes! 2) disputes at the rest areas calls need quick response so the argument/situation would not escalate. In this case the Trooper would want to have his overhead lights turned on (siren not necessarily) so he has a clear way in front of him! 3) No lights or siren for a burglar alarm call? Really? But still this call would be picked up by the closest local Police Dept
ralphrs6 6 months ago
@ryanlovestosnowboard So give me 3 good examples of an emergency call that would allow the State Trooper to drive appx. 90 mph (without using an emergency lights/siren) and tailgate everyone that he meets on his way?

I gave a cop an ass chewing for doing it to me coming home from work 1 night. Called his supervisor as well. I intentionally pulled off the road and he got behind me, I said "1 in a 55mph zone the distance for a vehicle behind another is 5 1/2 car lengths, 2 get off my ass because there are deer everywhere and I dont need a cop slamming into the ass end of my car when one jumps out."
STreeMonkey 6 months ago
On thing I've learned about posting bad behavior of cops on YouTube - it brings out cop-defenders (fellow cops?) who can come up with every excuse in the world to justify the actions. Yet, privately, cops will tell you, after watching the video in your presence, that they cop 'shouldn't have done that.
It's the classic "always defend a fellow blue" that creates the us vs. them attitude. And it's why at every traffic stop, the cops are hyper-defensive/critical.

lol this is just how NJ State Troopers get people to move out of their way
TAMR213 6 months ago
Reading the comments and it seems everyone is missing the real danger of the trooper driving so close to his rear bumper!!! This is aggessive driving at the least and if the trooper was responding to a emerg. the lights & siren should be on so people can safely move out of the way. The passing lane was being used to 'pass' as shown in video, the trooper was out of line.
Rocketee 7 months ago
@Rocketee Thank you for this comment. That's the point if there was a real emergency he would have his lights (and siren) on. So, what he was trying to do was to make me move over in the most disgusting way. I'm not a left lane loafer and he actually saw that, when I moved to the left lane just to pass that Toyota (my left turn signal was informing both of them about my intention!). And why in the world he started to tailgate me when Toyota was right next to my right? Just to show that he can?
ralphrs6 6 months ago
Left lane is meant for passing and emergency vehicles only
mobsterbillyjoe 7 months ago
Well you accellerated to nearly 80 just to pass the car ahead of you, rather than stay behind him when he changed lanes at between 65 and 70 (your speedometer is clearly visible), Troopers sometimes respond to calls without use of lights and sirens as in some conditons, use of lights can create more problems than than they solve. Most prudent drivers would see a Troop car coming up at high speed and simply move over.
FireSarge30 7 months ago
@FireSarge30 Are you telling me/us that using light and siren by Troopers can create more problems?? This is totally absurd what you are saying! There is NO BETTER way for the Police to clear the road in front of them then use of lights and siren. Yes, I agree with you that sometimes they have to get somewhere faster but still it should be NOTICEABLE for others! Even if they quick-flashed high beams it would help a lot. The tailgating is totally ridiculously stupid method!!!
ralphrs6 6 months ago
@ralphrs6 - You're not understanding what I am saying. In SOME conditions, use of lights and sirens can create more problems. There is the need for a "silent" approach on some calls. (Not the case here it seems.) In certain heavy traffic conditions/intersections, use of lights and sirens can cause people to do stupid and unpredictable things. That's my point. Flashing headlights is a good tactic in some situations, but; some people will cut others off in a panic at the sound of a siren.
FireSarge30 6 months ago
@FireSarge30 You've made a very important statement: "Not the case here it seems". I just want to let you know that I am NOT a cop hater. Despite all real emergency talk now. I/we know what he was just on the mission to "fight" a left lane campers here. But his judgment in this situation was really poor, don't you think? The truth is: we should and we will respect the Police for what they doing for all of us as long as they treat us back with the same respect!
ralphrs6 6 months ago
@ralphrs6 - Tailgating by anyone can be dangerous, agreed. We don't know where he was headed, so he may have been trying to get somewhere quickly. Nonetheless, he was just as likely to hit someone had the left-lane camper decided to slam on the brakes. I do not condone tailgating, but; some just don't know when to get the heck out of the way. Respect...of course.
FireSarge30 6 months ago
@FireSarge30 "Troopers sometimes respond to calls without use of lights and sirens..." that is a bunch of crap and its against to law even for police to drive over the speed limit if they are not running their lights.
Rightwingist 6 months ago
they tailgate to make you swerve back and forth which is a normal reaction to tailgating and if you do swerve back and forth then they can suspect you of beign drunk and pull you over.
