  • Tennis is gonna suck if this is all the next gen knows how to play like; from the baseline hitting only heavy topspin shots to each other. Where are the Roger federers of this world gonna come from if all they use is two handers and no slices, volleys or drop shots?

  • @Alben33 oh homes, look around, there aren't too many serve and volley guys. it's just the way it's has been for awhile now. with the racquets, the speed of ball, it's really hard to be a serve and volleyer--you bang your serve, you can't get into the net, you hit the volley, it's not as hard as a baseline shot, they track it down and pass you...crazy crazy crazy

  • It concerns me how kids are hitting with full western grips at the age of 8...

  • @Shodai24 it blows my mind that they even have 8 and under... that means some of them play at like 6....

  • @Shodai24 i hit with a semi-western grip , i do it automaticly and i'm only 12. this way the ball takes more spin.

  • the 1 in yellow needs a better backhand

  • @mooncrest8000 i found out he's like 8...

  • @hi10spro o lol.n sryy

  • @mooncrest8000 can you imagine...they actually have 8 and under in this tournament... and some of the kids been playing since they were 4... wow...wth? and with full size racquets...i thought watching 10's play was funny

  • @hi10spro hahaha ikr!! its funny cuz sometimes it looks like the racquets r too big for them haha

  • @mooncrest8000 i think it's way too young to play competitive tennis but then again agassi graf age 2.5

  • @hi10spro true

  • Explains why the modern game is full of people who are fearful of the net. Granted, most adult players become proficient enough at net to win points, but their instincts tell them to stay at the baseline and as such they make life harder for themselves by grinding out points.

Now most people should find it more believable that Federer was the #1 Swiss junior at the age of 12. Some of these kids are pretty amazing.

  • @Oreoclan I was so impressed with the LEVEL of understanding of the court, play, and overall ability. they're shoooorrrrrrrtttt though. and the older kids weren't much bigger than me...so no hope for them

  • wow, i would have a hard tme beating one of them and im 14...

  • one day... you'll play one of these little guys--an up and coming star ( I did when I was 18 and he was 12...) all you do is dropshot and lob...seriously, these little guys can't volley...

  • thats a good point, i dont see any indication of them even wanting to go to the net in the vid...

  • dude when you are like 3 feet tall... that net looks mighty BIG...plus every little kids will lob

  • damn some good 10-12 year olds

  • and dude, this is like first round so one is a seed, but they're both solid...wth
