Hi there, thank you so much for playing this. I have this music and many from Charles D. Blake. He was my great grand father! thanks again. Mary Blake Rice
@RICECOOSBAY Wow, really? I'm from London, UK, and acquired some salon music a few years back. This piece was in the compilation and wondered if anyone still plays it. I've never heard of your great grandfather before. Are there any other hidden gems?
I recently found a copy of C. D. Blake's "Trembling Dewdrops" among my grandmother's music, copyright 1911. It looks way beyond my capability now, but maybe I'll be up to trying it after a couple more years practice.
I'm practicing Clayton's Grand March again for an improved upload soon. It has been one of my favorite piano pieces since my mom learned to play it in the late 1950s.
Thanks to both of you for watching and for your comments. :-)
Hi, Tom. Thanks for posting this. When I was in high school this was used as the school's graduation march (much slower tempo) Looking forward to mastering it someday from the Mammoth Folio.
Thank you for watching and for your kind note. I played this for my high school baccalaureate in 1964. I look forward to seeing some of your performances. :-)
Thanks Askel. This piece may have some ragtime feel and sound. That is because 20 years after it was written, ragtime music was adapted from the style of popular marches similar to those by John Phillip Sousa and this one by C. D. Blake, along with a few others.
Hi Tom I liked you march tune very much. You must have practiced for a long time to be able to remember over 5mins of music. Do you realise that you could apply the stride piano left hand ( as played at 4:33 and earlier) to become a player of Ragtime Tunes. Regards David
Hi David, I love ragtime and am just learning about stride, so your comment made my day. I hope to upload some real ragtime and stride pieces here some day. Thanks!
You bet!

@RICECOOSBAY Thanks Mary, you just made my day.
I need to upload a better version some time soon. In several places, the timing wasn't very good.

Sounds really nice. I like the early American sound it has. I like the part around the 2 minute mark.
